• Error facing clone a WebLogic in the OEM field

  Hi all
  
  I use OEM 12 c Cloud Control and I want to clone a WebLogic domain somewhere else. In my execution after successful steps, I get the following error at step 'Domain Infrastructure customize' under «Create and configure the field» step I don't understand the cause of the error. Also how can I recover this error because I think I'm very close to complete this cloniong. Please help me with your valuable suggessions.

  The name of the machine (UnixMachine_70), I guess that's a Unix Machine.
  There is a known problem (Bug 14339342) with commissioning when it comes to cloning a domain with Unix machines.
  There is an underlying problem in WebLogic itself that prevents us to fix this bug completely.
  Can you please create a new domain that doesn't have Unix machines and try to configure it?

  Is there a way to determine which application is locked this port that I tried again with a different port number and always the same result
  I don't have any other application or OracleAS application server running on the machine that supposedly can block a port.

  Do you have any product Oracle installed on the same computer? Please see the referenced above.

  You can try with a different port pool (i.e. 1 instead of 0) and see if you get the same error or not.

  In addition, see utility Portmon which can be downloaded from http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896644 for a list of ports that are used on the same machine.

• Cannot migrate/snapshot/consolidate/clone a vm due to

  I get the error 'Unable to access file < file name >' unspecified when I try to do a migration, clone or snapshot (they all involve making a snapshot, I guess that's why).  The esxi 5.0, same NFS volume for the source and destination host (the same fails when you try to move in a local data store).  Virtual MACHINE works very well on his part.  No 3rd party backup software has been used.

  So turns out somehow the esxi host has been corrupted (no idea how) and had mounted his vfat on each drive partitions... This was compounded by problems with NFS on this particular host.  The host is restarted (had to take down the guest unfortunately Virtual PC migration would not work), returns to the top and was able to migrate again.  Had to wipe and reinstall esxi on this host.  Not the best result, but it seems that it was a combination of NFS and visorfs.

  You can run into a new problem in function if your configuration is incorrect.
  (backup items available on the clone host, file systems, settings etc..)

  We run ESX 4.0.0 on our guests and we are conducting a demo of VMware View 4.0.  We try to create a pool of office automated using clones related with the composer of the VM.  However, when we create the pool and the composer tries to create a clone using the master Win XP VM we get an error in vCenter (a specified parameter was not correct. spec.snapshot).  In the console admin View 4, we get several ambiguous errors:

  I made a clone to replace a failing hard drive. biohd-3 is the error code. The clone has implemented two partitions one key for a recovery disk partition hard theoriginal. I deleted the second primary partition and the recovery partition. This will be enough to read a path of startup or do I have to do something more? I have the new hard drive in an external enclosure and can be accessed. I have not tried to put in the computer from hp since the deletions.

  The BIOS has detected a hardware error on port 3.  Try to run hardware diagnostics. If the diagnostics detects errors, then it is time to replace the hard drive. If you do, buy a non-avance format model that is less than 2 GB.

  Backup your data anda remember to create the external HP recovery media before doing anything.

• How can I copy my old hard hard 'C' to the new reader, "C" drive reports an error and I can not clone!

  My 'C' drive is reported to be in danger of not, so I bought a new 500 GB drive which is currently housed in an external enclosure, my problem is I want to clone my old drive to my new but when I try an error is reported and the process stops.  I installed Win7 as an upgrade of Vista, so I can't mount the new drive as master, and then install Win7 because it will search the former Vista program before it will run. Is there a way I can install Win7 on my new record, at present in the external box connected via USB, and then exchange the reader to the PC to become my new 'C' drive and then individually copying my programs over the old 'C '?   I hope this makes sense, any help would be apprecisted.

  If you have another hard drive, you can put in the case of external use Windows 7 builtin imaging app (Control Panel, Backup & Restore) to take a picture of the old hard disk Save external hard disk. You will also need to make the system repair disc to boot from to restore the image to new hard drive.

   

  Once you're all set, install the new hard drive, boot from cd/dvd repair.

  I have a Vista Home Edition 64-bit PC runing. I'm trying to clone my C: drive using the software Acronis 2009. The program does everything until the moment where it will copy my designated 2nd disc. I get the following error:

• Error trying to create multiple linked clones

  I have another question from script to this that attempts to create multiple linked clones.  I get the error message "Wait task: the object has no associated provider.» (see below under the results section).  Just need to know why this happens, but I'm new to PowerCLI.

  You try to mix two different things here.

  The CloneVM_Task call you is a method of the API in the SDK and it returns an SDK task object.

  This task SDK object is not the same object as that returned by the RunAsync switch on several PowerCLI cmdlets.

  The Wait-job cmdlet waits an object returned by the RunAsync switch.

  You can use the task the UpdateProgress method on the object of the SDK in a loop.

  And wait for the news. Condition of the property on the Task SDK object turns into success or error.
