• Has anyone been able to Stand Up Essbase Analytics link (EAL) for financial management in version 11.1.2.2?

  This timeout issue can be fixed by adding two TCP/IP registry settings, but first you must identify the customer who communicated with essbase when the time-out period exceeded so that you know which machine to add the settings.  If all the EAL and EMP components are installed on a single machine, while the machine would also host the client.  If the products are installed in a distributed environment, you determine the client machine depending on how the Essbase EAL server component is defined.

  The URL of the APS is part of the Analytics Server Essbase in EAL definition link.

  If (APS URL) value is "incorporated" means that the application EAL server communicates via the JAPI directly with the Essbase server. In this case the EAL AppServer is the client to the Essbase server. In this case, the following registry settings tcpip need to go on the computer running the application EAL server.

  If the value of (APS URL) is http://serverName:13080/aps/JAPI then the EAL Application Server communicates by way of Hyperion provider of Services (APS). In this case queries EAL proxies to and from the Essbase by APS Server. This means that the APS is the client to the Essbase server and registry settings tcpip need to go on the machine running Hyperion service provider.

  Once you have determined what machine acts as a customer of essbase, set the TcpTimedWaitDelay = 30 and MaxUserPort = 65534 settings via the windows registry.

  1. open the Windows registry.

  2. go in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\TCPIP\Parameters.

  3. Add the new DWORD value named "TcpTimedWaitDelay.
  -Right click and select Edit
  -Select "decimal" radio button, type 30.

  4. Add the new DWORD value called MaxUserPort
  -Right click and select Edit
  -Select "decimal" radio button, type 65534

  5. a server restart is necessary.

  in Essbase application: Essbase_app

  EAL-Bridge: TEST_B_STREAM

  The process is to replicate data from hfm to essbase.

  The consultant have implemented a process planned, which automatically retrieves the EAL data for transport.

  But I did not understand everything. :-(

  So my question is:

  How can I communicate with eal automatically without using the Essbase administration console?

  I am looking something like maxl, which I use for Essbase.

  I want to stop and start the bridge by script (like on my screenshot).

  Anyone has any experience with EAL?

  I found in the forum almost nothing.

• Location of the repository for the link (EAL) Essbase Analytics settings?

  In Essbase Analytics link (EAL), where are the Repository EAL parameters stored?  I think I saw a param or .ini file, but I can't seem to locate it in the application directory.  I try to find it, because I've reconfigured EAL to use another database for the repository, but that it always points to the original database in spite of what the configuration tool shows.

  You must update the JDBC information stored in WebLogic if the web application is not redeployed, you can change the source of data through the weblogic administration console or go to \user_projects\domains\EPMSystem\config\jdbc\EAL_Repository-xxxx-jdbc.xml

• Essbase Analytics EAS Link plugin

  I have installed and configured the EAL according to the installation guide, but when we try to add the plugin EAS, nothing is displayed in the EA business view. I tried to restart the administrative services as well as the console of Regional service several times. The EAL plugin is present under Tools-> configure components.

  I installed OBIEE 11 on linux 6.1 when the installation is finished, he opened the analytical with url page http://myserver:9502 / Analytics . • Add-in Essbase no link

  I have a problem with my Excel Add-in.
  I was able to connect to the database until yesterday.
  But since yesterday, when I click on Essbase - Connect, it does not answer. When we click Essbase - Connect, we are supposed to get the box where specify us the name of the server and choose the database and use the user name and password to connect. But there is no answer at this time here.
  What could be wrong?

  I mean the PATH environment variable, it is possible that the installation of the Oracle changed the path customer
  Check the path and make sure that

  C:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\bin-32;

  at the beginning of the path variable, can be useful to restart if you make changes that it should be resumed immediately.

  We plan to install EAL for HFM on EMP 11.1.2.4 environment.

  AFAIK, there is no installation of EAL on delivery for EMP 11.1.2.4 files.

  It seems that we can use for HFM 11.1.2.2 for EMP 11.1.2.3 EAL.

  I wonder if we can use the same version of EAL of EPM 11.1.2.4?

• Single point of failure/Cluster/high availability on Essbase 11.1.2

  Hello

  The project I am currently working has only one Version of Unix 11.1.2 Essbase server that's threat as a single Point of failure. Management thinking to upgrade the Essbase to superior verion 11.1.2.1 to achieve clustering & high availability and to overcome the situation of single Point of failure by having just a server unique essbase.

  My concerns here are;

  Note: Essbase in this project is used to generate reports only, write back data is not allowed.

  (1) not supported of the Essbase Version 11.1.2 Cluster / HA / failover to the other node?

  (2) if it is Yes, can you please share the link to the documentation for this version 11.1.2.

  There are other components of Hyperion as HFM, FDM used the same version in this project. If the failover is not supported in the version of Essbase 11.1.2 we need upgrade other components as well as the Essbase or just Essbase upgrade upgrade to version 11.1.2.x is sufficient.

  Please share your valuable thoughts on that.

  Found the reason why Essbase Cluster does not work when implemented with failover / high availability when Essbase Analytics link (EAL) used in the project. Due to these facts, we have stopped application Essbase Cluster and the Essbase in my project remains SPOF (Single Point of Failure).

  Not sure if Oracle Corp. comes with EAL product improvements that can take over for Essbase Failover.

  1. Essbase Analytics link (EAL release 11.1.1.4) does not support high availability facilities. This means that EAL cannot connect to a cluster of Essbase, always happens only connections to a server regular Essbase through the Regional service console. Although we can define availability high for Essbase, EAL will use a single Essbase server. If it breaks down another Essbase server is used, we must manually redefine the EAL bridges on the new Essbase server and re-create the database Essbase. It is not considered high availability in this case.
  2. There is no technical mechanism to link point to a Cluster Essbase-Essbase analytics. EAL is supported only to connect to a single named Essbase Server.
  3. Transparent partitions can support when configured Essbase as component availability high when EAL is used. EAL bridges in the active project uses Transparent partition.

  Why can't use us the HFM database as the destination database to create patterns in Star using extended Analytics? How can we get data with metadata in tables exported using EA?

  As far as I know, export EA is a star that includes metadata and data schema format?
  You don't would not export it to your database of the HFM application as you would ideally keep it separate for analsys by services such as Essbase OLAP?
  Alternatively, you can also use Oracle Hyperion Essbase Analytics Link, which creates a permanent bridge in real-time between your HFM and Essbase applications.

  Could someone help me please with information on how to install the Essbase Analytics for HFM 1.1.1.4 link. I did the following without success;
  
  1 downloaded metalink 11.2.0.3 YES, this is the 32-bit version
  Downloaded 2 EAL for HFM, the 64-bit version.
  3 extract the download to the same location.
  4 installed YES the server successfully.
  5 launched YES in the start menu a managed to find the products.xml file required to install EAL...
  
  Problem - there is no option for me to put in the EAL installation details and if I continue with the process he reinstalls just YES. Is that all that I'm missing?

  I would say to extract EAL and YES to different places.
