• Migrate the EMP planning 11.1.2.2 Essbase AIX for Linux

  Hello

  I have a deployed EPM Planning 11.1.2.2 environment on Windows, with the exception of Essbase, which runs on AIX.  I would like to migrate to Linux Essbase.

  Is it possible (except set up a new EPM and LCM/import environment)?  I have difficulties to find information about it.

  I hope I can do something like:

  1.) install the new Essbase server on linux and configure shared services

  (2.) the source change to point to the new essbase Server planning data

  3.) deploy application planning

  4.) import data to new Essbase

  5.) set up the old Essbase

  If anyone has the resources or advice they can direct me to, it would be very appreciated.

  I guess that the scroll bar does not reveal any button 'Next' at the bottom of the screen...

  You've hit a bug in Oracle Linux 6.2.  We have an article in the Knowledge Base describing the related issues during installation Oracle Linux 6.2 on vSphere and another related issue when you use virtual EFI firmware.  All these problems are caused by the same bug Oracle Linux (and they have released an update to fix it), but it seems that we have not yet a section in Knowledge Base describing the problem encountered on VMware Workstation, where the symptom is that the screen is cut off and there is no button 'Next' to visible.  (Interestingly, you can still use the keyboard to go through Setup... Press Alt + N)

  To get the display work correctly, try this:

  • Shut down the virtual computer.
  • Go into the settings of the virtual machine and configure the virtual machine display to have a screen at 1024 x 768.  Save the settings.  (I have been informed that sometimes this setting doesn't "stick", then you will want to return to settings and check that it is correct before continuing.)
  • Turn on the virtual machine and enter the Setup program.  You should now have a button "next".
  • Install Oracle Linux 6.2.
  • Once the client is installed, follow the instructions in the Knowledge Base article to install the update within the guest to correct the cuase of the root of the problem.
  • When you have installed the update and turn off your virtual machine, you can remove the limitation of 1024 x 768 display that you added earlier.

  Your Oracle Linux VM should then work correctly.

  I have a problem with the Essbase Excel add-in (11.1.1.3 version):
  
  The problem is that the Addin for some users is not installed correctly, so it does not appear in the Excel 2003 menu, and even if I try to install manually or to save it with the regExcelAddin it does not work. The connection menu refuses to appear, so I am unable to connect to the server. In the same server for the user Hyperion (that of Essbase installation) it works but it does not work for the administrator user.

  Check in your Windows Environment Variables, ARBORPATH and ESSBASEPATH are defined.

  For the two you should have something like this:

  Hi, I installed my essbase and Foundation (EPM 11.1.2.2) services on linux. I installed every thing, but I couldn't find add-in spreadsheet for essbase in my Configurator.

  I have a few queries related to it.

  It is available for the windows installation?

  I installed smart display, but I can not display the application created to essbase (only application created in hyperion are visible), it is limitation of smart view?

  You can install Linux. No problem at all, but please note that Toshiba doesn't support Linux OS and you're on your own with it.

  Before you do this and begin to change the factory settings create recovery disk. Don t forget it.

  I saw your photos on your problem and wants help. After researching your question and having the same problem happen on my old HP tent system holder a Linux installation. I am lead to believe that the linux OS CD that you are using does not allow installation and if you are able to run the Windows operating system, the error "Non system disk or disk error" is not a problem with a hard drive:

  FIX - IT as follows:

  1.) make sure you are able to install the Linux cd on another system.

  3.) attempt the installation with another cd of Linux to check if the installation is successful.

  I just replaced my old Dell Dimension with a new 8500 XPS at great expense. On my old size, I was able to load Linux on a completely separate drive.   I have 15 + years of experience of Oracle (including Oracle OLAP) but now I am faced with a new challenge called Essbase. How to install this? I have Win7 64 bit VMWare (with IIS) and I downloaded after the RTO files:

  -Customer EPM tuyauteuses version 11.1.2.4.0 for Microsoft Windows

  -EPM System Release 11.1.2.4.0 files 1-4

  -EPM System Release 11.1.2.4.0 part 6

  -EPM System Release 11.1.2.4.0 Oracle HTTP Server

  What I'm missing here? When I try to install, the wizard cannot me select the Essbase servers for installation (only the Foundation and analysis and Reporting Services are available). And do I need a normal relational database too (so I'll start with it, at least I can install it)?

  Please help, I need this environment of practicing as soon as possible. If someone could be so kind and give me a real dummy list as "Download this, this and this. "Do a, b and c".

  Hi husband - if you need an Essbase training environment so far the best way to do is to follow the rapid deployment Guide. This is exactly the scenario that it is. The documentation tells you all the prerequisites, and the installation program supports the relational database (that Yes, you do I need) total, and so on.   AFAIK, there is no installation of EAL on delivery for EMP 11.1.2.4 files.

  I installed and configured essbase clustering (active-passive) on 2 boxes of linux.

  But during the test of clustering part, question face to face get.

  When active, descendant of the active node (server 1) using opmnctl stopall order, passive node (server2) automatically to come.

  But when the knot stop passive with the same command, active node is not coming. the two servers to low status only.

  After that, if I am a beginner essbase using startall of opmnctl, in one of the servers, active node is coming.

  (if i from essbase passive node, active node to come)

  Now I test clustering correctly? If not, how can I test clusters?

  Then the connection of the Regional service console, what I have to use EssbaseCluster-1 to connect to the Essbase Server?
