  I need help about script report essbase.  I've been racking my brain trying to figure out how to use the script essbase report command "< MATCH" so that I can match a sequence on the alias rather than the name of the member name. I searched the Internet without success. Maybe someone in this community knows how to do this.  If you can answer with a specific example that could help out me as I am very visual.

  Well, first of all - I should have directed you to MATCHEX; which allows you to specify if you want to search for names, pseudonyms or both, no matter what you come back to the report. Much better.

  This requirement is difficult because as you have seen, the * generic cannot be used at the end of the model. Also, you should use? that means that a single character.

  A few options:

  Search for '? Setting 'and '? Setting' and so on until 70 marks (!) the question and click on LINK to union all results. Not elegant!

  Create a UDA and tag accounts adjustment like this - I would do that anyway, I do not rely on an alias.

  I am creating a report script where I show members by their UDA instead of their membername or alias.
  
  I have a large number of level 0 members who each have a tag for them to the UDA. I can query by the UDA in the report script, but it displays their membername, not the UDA in the final output.
  
  
  I need it is because I have a second Essbase cube that is to receive the data of this first. The 2nd cube has a level less than the source cube, therefore I am 'connecting' with a UDA on the members of level 0 of the source cube that corresponds to the membernames of members at level 0 of the target cube.
  
  I guess I could possibly use a linked partition?

  As you found, UDAs return the Member who are associated with them. Maybe create a size of attribute, which is the same as the ADU and retireve there. IF you want to go with the approach of the partition, it would be a not replicated partition a linked partition that will transfer data of one cube to another.

  Hi people. I have problems with Essbase report script for a BSO cube.
  
  I have a sparse dimension called entity which has some members from level 0 marked with an attribute called "operator/Non-Operator. I want to do is have records in this report script appear only for the descendants of a parent 'X', which have also been marked with the attribute value "Operator/Non-operateur" to "O".
  
  What I put in my script to report was this:
  
  < DIMBOTTOM 'X '.
  < WITHATTR ("Operator/no operators" == O)
  
  
  The result is the valid script and I get an output, but this isn't a correct output. I wonder if maybe I need to use a command LINK or something else?

• Use of Variables in a Script of Essbase report

  I know you can use a variable in a script with Essbase report & at the beginning of the name.  Example & CurMonth.  This works very well for me.  But, you can use & FcstMonths when the value of the months are more than one Member?  It works in a calc script when & FcstMonths = March, April, may, June... etc, but, when I use it in a report script, the script will not validate the saying "unknown member of the value.  I tried to change it to January.February.March... etc.  I also tried February: December.  None of them does not seem to work.  Is it just not possible for Essbase report?  Thanks in advance.

  If you want to include a list of members in the report script, you specify the members separated by spaces.  If you set the variable...

  "Mar" "Apr" "May" "Jun" "Jul" "Aug" "Sep" "Oct" "Nov" "Dec"
  

  ... I think you'll find that it works.

  I get an error saying that ODI can not locate my report script. My essbase is on a different server from ODI. Can I copy the script on the server of the ODI report? Is that the way to solve this problem?

  This means that the order of the columns in the report script must be in the exact order as the columns in the source Essbase model for extraction to perform successfully.

  Lol it is completely impossible in a report script.

  If you actually try to export the metadata only, look at the contour Applied OLAP Extractor.

  If you need this in a data report you to post-process the result, or have a separate metadata extracted with a search in the parent company.

  It is quite a common question, but there is no simple solution.

  I guess you have a coma between two members in a list such as "Jan", "Feb" think about it in your lines. It should be "Jan", "February".

  You can if you use the mask and width. I did in the past, but it's not as simple as that. I find it much easier to do this with the jexport of Java CDF (look for it in the forum for more details). It is faster and has more flexibility that report scripts for exporting data.

• Rename members of the line in the report Script

  I am writing a script to report where in I have members in the lines I need to rename a custom name. I saw the Rename commnad syntax and looks that it replaces a member name with another name of valid membership in outline
  
  and I can't use it for cutom names. Is there a way I can rename my members in rows by custom name?

  You can clarify your question a bit. You say the rename function does not work or does not work for your application (if so, why not) or something else? If rank members are static, you can create a text column skin the Essbase member names and put in your own names. Overall, I never understood why people need to rename the Member. I try to get them in the outline as a member name or alias the way users want them.

  Sorry, I just re-read your post, you said a report script not a financial report. My question is still true, but the part about the creation of a text column is not valid. I'm sorry. Rename works in scripts to report, but my forces need a lot of them

  Essbase reports do not line headers (headers for dimension members of the)

  The best I was able to do in the past, it was to have a file with header information, I wanted and after the report has been created concatinate the header with the report file file using the copy back command.

  I assume you mean BSO cubes as you do not have the scripts of calculation with ASO.
  So basically, what you ask who is the fastest report Script or command DATAEXPORT via calc scripts, I don't know if there is a definitive answer to this. I think that both can make each other depending on the type of query.
  With DATAEXPORT you have the abilitiy to export directly to a relational target as a text file, if you have a lot fewer options formatting, with the report scripts, you have much flexbility in control in creating as output report and has a wide range of commands.

  DATAEXPORT is relative novelty compared to the time report Scripts have been around and its purpose is simply to export data... I'm sure that DATAEXPORT will have some improvements but it has the limitation of being tied down to BSO. With DATAEXPORT, you have the added advantage that you can calculate using the calc script data before exporting it.

  He must try both methods and see which works for you.

  We have percentage data under the necessity of planning (V 11.1.2.2) hyperion to export as a percentage.

  Currently, it exports 100% 1.

  Is it possible that I can export it as 100% or 100 instead of 1

  The problem you will have, is how the report script know that Member should be reported as a %
