Europ Atrix Lapdock vs at & T Atrix Lapdock

I intend to buy a trix AT & T 4g Lapdock for use in Egypt, is there no matter what it is (technically) prevents my Atrix to work with the AT & T lapdock or there will be compatibility problems.

I need advice.

Thank you

still pending in response, regarding the APN hack... it won't be on a phone from AT & T, but I don't know if it goes on an atrix non - AT & T...

  • ATRIX Lapdock ATRIX HD compatibility

If I buy the micro USB and micro-HDMI cables to connect the ATRIX HD to my old lapdock ATRIX, can I still use the lapdock as a screen, keyboard and mouse even without the software of webtop?

I have the ATRIX 4 G with almost all of the accessories, and I was upset to learn that Motorola has decided to cancel the upgrade to ICS and let the ATRIX owners stuck in the gingerbread. I am now considering an upgrade to the HD of the ATRIX. I stopped by my AT & T store to take the ATRIX HD for a test drive and I like the look and feel of it. It is very sensitive and seems to be a great upgrade. I don't want to lose the use of my lapdock.

    stbain,

I actually tried this and it does not work as you described. However, I have a few comments. The microUSB and HDMI ports have a different orientation. I modified atrix 4G lapdock brother to fit its Atrix 2 (same orientation as the HD). This requires dissasembling your lapdock but there are detailed instructions on the web. What I did is really turn at each port, class one of the blankets with a file and the lapdock is now directly usable for Atrix 2. I tried this lapdock briefly with my HD Atrix and all controls are active, work on keyboard and touchpad. It also assumes the appropriate landscape orientation. A minor thing, I did not like was the fact that the screen on my HD Atrix stayed on and seat upside down, so if you're picky you dislike. However, I tried this, before the update and as far as I know that can be addressed now.

    I hope this helps

  • Interference case ATRIX Lapdock and phone

Hi all, I use a strong enough case (Otterbox Defender) for my ATRIX. This case prevents the docking station, I have to remove my case to connect to my Lapdock. Can anyone recommend a sturdy box that does not interfere with the docking station? Or we could ask nicely Motorola to develop a short "coax" for those of us who use the case?

    Thank you

    Rick

    Welcome to the forums!

This has been a topic of much frustration for some of the community of users. I think that people have indicated that the Otterbox commuter was compatible with all platforms, if you remove the dock adapter plate and the plastic plate lasts of the Otterbox...

  • Can not activate HotSpot for Atrix LapDock

Was in an airport this week with a traveling companion. Had my LapDock with me and time that's happening on the Web. My companion was aware of my equipment and asked if he could use my Hotspot for his laptop. Of course, I said.

Then I spent several minutes trying to get it to turn on. Finally took the Atrix off the LapDock and things would turn out. Back in the LapDock and stayed connected and I'm back to what I was doing. He later died still in dock, but could not turn on again as before.

Searched around that and found nothing of not being able to activate the HotSpot while in the LapDock. Activates / deactivates when fine in my Dock of Messrs. 1.8.3 running stock at the moment.

"Undocumented feature" or is something broken on my equipment?

  • Atrix Lapdock overheating

I recently bought an Atrix Lapdock (and love), and the area where the USB and load ports are seems to become VERY hot when I use the dock, even without anything plugged into ports. It can be so hot that it becomes uncomfortable to have on my lap. This only happens when the docking station display is on, not if the Atrix is just in charge on the dock. Nothing seems to go wrong or behave abnormally when the platform gets very hot. Is this a problem with my dock, or is it common with all the docks?

    Nerdle22,

What you describe resembles a normal operation. The area near the USB connectors will tend to feel hot when the cover is in place. This is the place where most of the load circuits & power is located withn the lapdock.

  • Atrix 2 does not power the Lapdock 100?

I own 2 Atrix and LapDock 100, I was under the impression that once the battery is dead on the Lapdock, that the lapdock would go off the power to the battery of the atrix 2. Is this bad?

The original 4g LapDock sink the Atrix 4 original once lapdock battery is dead?

I have the original lapdock with the Atrix 4 G. The lapdock feeds the phone and not the phone powered the lapdock.

  • States of FAQ lapdock 500 features only works on one phone, please confirm

This is almost entirely devoted to the brand, but anyone can answer if they know.

According to the FAQ (whicle looking for everything related to the 500 lapdock), he says the following...

Q: which phones can be connected to Lapdock Pro 500?

    A:

    • DROID Bionic
    • Photon 4G
    • Atrix 2
    • DROID RAZR
    • Motorola RAZR

    So far so good.

now, it indicates what follows after that...

Please note that at the time where the Lapdock 500 launched , the following experiments work only with the RAZR:

    • Ethernet connector
    • Webcam
    • VGA connector

If this is true, then I'm wrong to assume it is not not even useful to the lapdock 500 for the Photon (or any other other than the Razr phone?

You can mark or anyone with access to the ups higher than Motorola, confirm this claim of the FAQ, and or to know if an update will be introduced which will allow these features work with the other webtop phones activated.

    Hi twospirits,

Thanks again for your interest in Motorola and Webtop/Lapdock products!

The instructions in the FAQ are correct. At the moment only RAZR products fully support all the features Lapdock 500.

As you know the phones all the features of Lapdock drive and at the time of its elaboration and launch of the 500 Lapdock products you mention Bionic, Photon and Atrix 2 had already been available on the market.

We call these products wiith these Lapdock 500 features listed there and when updates are available for these phones we will not fail to mention their support for Lapdock 500. In the meantime Lapdock 500 will work correctly with these phones for all other aspects of the dock.

    Kind regards

  • Lost charger Lapdock

Anyone know if I can, and where I can buy the charger for the Lapdock?

Mine was lost during my trip wknd - hope, I don't have to buy the whole dock again

Thanks in advance 4 your help

Lapdock and Xoom Speaker dock uses the same power supply.

The Atrix HD dock and the Xoom device have a common (even if different than the lapdock/Speaker dock) power supply/charger.

Have contacted us blaquevenus and help with how to get a replacement charger.

  • LapDock screen "blinking" - any ideas?

My screen LapDock, a few days (best I can tell) began to turn to the market, almost like it is re-synchronization of the video signal. The keyboard and mouse are still not working the screen is dark (if I'm in the middle of typing something, the words continue) so I don't think it's a connection problem.

It's boring, more than anything else. I have the rugged cover of motorcycle on the Atrix and I removed the LapDock connector adapter plate.

    Clues?

It really looks like there is a problem with your lapdock. One last thing to try to confirm would be to check if the flashing occurs in Media Center mode as well as the WebTop mode with the handset in the lapdock. If this happens in the Media Center application, then I would say to get a warranty replacement lapdock.

  • Photons: Compatibility of the 100 Lapdock

Ran across this when you browse the update of the site and thought I would point that out, but when you check the 100 Lapdock overview on the product site the Photon 4 g no longer appears (only the Razr, the Atrix 2 and Bionic). It worries me a little bit because we are still in limbo at the moment in terms of whether or not the Photon will receive ICS. I love the phone and I will be issued a new Webtop phone more powerful hitting I hope Sprint network, so I can 'upgrade' my lapdock 100 but in the meantime, it would be nice to be able to use the new features of Android to come to light.
At the very least, I sincerely hope that Motorola is working on a Tegra 3 or quad-core Webtop (s) phone for the Sprint Network (or review at least makes a).

    @kidroboto

It is compatible. I hooked my up to it. It is enough to have at least the 45.3.6 update.

  • WiFi doesn't work is not about ATT Atrix 4 G countries in certain European (and global)

Hi, I have an ATT Atrix 4g and im he unsing in Europe in Slovenia, wifi will not work in my country, however once I go to one of its neighbours such as Austria, Croatia or Italy wifi starts working. Same thing happens to a few other ATT Atrix 4 G to users who use the phone in different countries of the world. After a few months, I finally managed to get the wifi works in my country and it was not using motorola technical support, or a motorola official support channels. I have figuered that the wifi driver that is used in the Atrix 4 G is not my country code inside, as well as some of those other people report that wifi does not work. Luckly I managed to change the drivers with some of a competitor of yours, and now wifi works for me and others. Now I'm nicely you ask dear Motorola Support, if it would be possible to update the driver wifi with the next update to one this reckognises all countries, or at least European ones (my country this title is part of the European Union and exists for over 20 years and his lack in your drivers, even Croatia exists as long as the Slovenia) (, which is not part of the European Union is supported in the driver - which is really a shame for you Dear Motorola).

  • Can I download and install the pre - ICS, Office full version of firefox to use as my browser with my lapdock (webtop mode)?

I just bought a lapdock for use with my droid 4 for work. Long story, but I need access to the internet to do my job, and there is nothing here. I thought this would be a great workaround solution. However, with the update of the ICS, the my phone webtop mode is not the full desktop firefox used the old operating system. The mobile firefox works well, but it is not completely compatible with the sites I need to work.

So, basically, I'm looking for a way to use the version of firefox which has been presented in the phones motorola (maybe others too) webtop mode and has been web enabled to mimic a full laptop computer experience.

Does anyone know if there is a way to download the old firefox office webtop android on my phone that I could use in my app drawer whenever I'm clinging to my lapdock? This would make my life a million times easier - and is the main selling point of buying me the dock in the first place. I hope someone has a way for me to achieve. Thank you!

Thanks for the info, virtualsattva. It's logical. Disappointing, but it makes sense.

  • Is it possible to perform 2 Gecko on my ATRIX 4 G MB860 boot? If so, please provide some idea thanks!

The phone is running a CPU dual core 1 GHz. Running Android OS 2.3 (Gingerbread).

The B2G community may be able to help. https://lists.Mozilla.org/listinfo/community-B2G

To the best of my knowledge the Atrix is not a phone for development for B2G.
