Everyone can print to the printer on the router

I have a Linksys WRT610N router.  (Firmware version 1.00.00 B18.)  I have a HP OfficeJet Pro L7555 printer attached to the router.  The printer is a network printer and of course this router is supposed to be able to distribute to everyone on the network and to as a print server.

But this doesn't seem to be the case.  All members of my family can see the printer from their machine, but not everyone can print to it in a coherent way.  For example, my wife can occasionally just print to it.  Whereas, for some reason, it seems I can always print to it.  When he stops working for her the only way I can fix it, is to restart the router.  His PC and my PC are connected directly to the router using a RJ-45 cable, so it is not a wireless issue.  Although sometimes our laptops, which access wireless cannot print on the printer as well.

Why is this?  What is happening and how to fix it?

You can try to re - install the software of the printer on your computers? When you install the software for the printer on your computer, you need to select 'Network printer' option and follow the instructions.

Once the software is installed on your computer successfully, you should be able to print from your computer.

  • I have a HP officejet K-550dtn. New wireless n router. I can't get the router to see the printer.

This printer used to work properly as a network using Actiontec or Linksys printer b/g router.  I upgraded my network for a 802.11n system and I cannot get the new router to see the printer.  After several hours of fighting, I find that the printer configuration page shows its IP address as 192.168.1.103.  Unfortunately, the DHCP server on the new router uses address 192.168.0.100 - 192.168.0.200 only.

The disc that came with the printer does not work in one of my computers, because the BONE is newer than Win XP.

Any ideas on how I can change the internal IP address of the printer to something the router will recognize?

I wouldn't get rid of this printer, since it is always does a great job.

(I can still print to the printer with a computer server network address to which it is connected by a USB cable, but requiring everyone goes up to this computer before making the print command in order to ensure that it is not hibernation.)  If I can't print directly via the router, I think I will return the router and go slowly until I can't take it anymore.

    Thank you

I finally understood that.  Here's how, in case someone else meets this.

I don't mention that there is a Verizon FIOS router behind the wireless-n router, and it uses the model of 192.168.1.XXX.

On a hunch, I ping the FIOS router, and there was a response.  The K-550 ethernet cable was plugged into the wireless n router and I tried it ping 192.168.1.103.  No response.  I then connected the ethernet printer cable in one of the connectors of the FIOS router replacement.  He ping again and got 4 beautiful quick returns.

I moved to one of the computers on the wireless network and checked to see if the printer was there.  Joy!  There were two cases.  One was the connection recently configured via the USB port on the server computer.  The second was through the previously used x.x.x.103 port.  I can print using this forum, and I made it the default printer.

It had not occurred to me to use a port across the wireless n router.

  • Laptop can't find the router.

Yes. First of all I'm not so technical so... I'm sorry. Fancy talk and internet would very likely confuse me.

First of all, I bought a WRT54G2 router. Staples clerk assured me that I would be able to connect laptops to my sister and me to the internet.

I've implemented exactly as has been charged by the CD, however when I on my laptop and "View available wireless networks", the router does not appear on the list. Despite this, I managed to connect my Nintendo DS to the internet. So... where the problem lies, and what do I do?

Open an Internet Explorer browser on your wired computer(desktop/laptop) page. In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1
Let the empty user name & password use admin lowercase...
For wireless settings, follow these steps: -.
    Click on the Wireless tab
-Here, select manual configuration... Wireless network mode must be mixed...
-Provide a unique name in the name box of the wireless network (SSID) in order to differentiate your network from your network of neighbors...

-Set the channel 11-2 wireless, 462 GHz... Wireless SSID broadcast should be enabled and then click on save settings...
Please take note of the name of the wireless network (SSID) because it's the network identifier...
    For wireless security: -.
Click the sub-tab under wireless > Wireless Security...
Change the mode of WEP wireless security, encryption must be 64-bit. Let the empty password, do not type in anything...
Under type of WEP Key 1 in all 10 numbers please (numbers only and no mailbox for example: your 10-digit phone number) and click on save settings...
Please note the 1 WEP key as it comes to the security key for the wireless network...

    Click the settings advanced wireless
Change the interval of tag to 75 > change the Fragmentation threshold to 2304, change the RTS threshold to 2304 > click 'save settings '...
Now let's see if you can locate your wireless network and try to connect...

  • [WNDR4500] Can not reach the router by IP (WFAdevice)

I just tried to get into the router with IP 192.168.1.1, but get the error that it is not connect?

With my mobile and Fing app, I see the router as a WFAdevice?

I have not changed anything with the router, so I don't understand what has changed and how to get back into the router?

Just rebooted the router and all is fine now

  • Is crushed, now I can not detect the router

I was using vista when it crashed on me, and when I rebooted I found I couldn't connect to the internet more. I have not changed anything that lead to her or since, but poking around I know now that even if my computer is directly plugged into my NETGEAR DG834G router, it will not connect and recognize it, and still fire on the router for my computer is turned on. This isn't a problem with the internet as the other two computers attached to the router both of their internet works perfectly.

I tried to disable my router and try other ports on the router and developed the default gateway had been erased. I added it back, doesn't have a HUGE repaired registry. I know this has helped in some was as now, when I try and connect to the internet, instead of instantly get an "unable to connect", he takes his time to try to connect.

A quick response would be greatly appreciated I have several online things that NEED done.
