My dispay screen has turned sideways?
I must have leaned on my keyboard accidentally and my screen has turned sideways. How to put back the right way? Any help appreciated.
Hello Wendyarnold,
You can try pressing Ctrl + Alt + UP ARROW to see if this will change it back (you need to maybe try the down arrow or right/left arrow key if this does not work)
You can also go to the control panel and, depending on your card, you should have a video card Control Panel, control panel NVidia or Catalyst Control center. This opens up and seek a marked display section. With ATI, it's under the desktop and poster (click on the arrow to the right of the display and select the rotate option.) Keep turning until you get the right orientation)
NVidia should also have a similar option that allows the roate screen 90 or 180 degrees. However, as you think that you have to rotate the screen by accidentally leaning on the keyboard, the Ctrl + Alt + UP (or down) arrow should fix things.

It is Dell Inspiron E1705 of my daughter with Windows XP SP3 installed. Everything was wonderful until the other night, then she was working with this computer before going to sleep. She was in bed with her computer when she is asleep. During the night, flipped it over on the computer and the screen has turned sideways. The BIOS initialization appears correctly as well as the first part of the initialization of windows, but the Welcome screen display is on the side as well as the rest of the o/s.
Does anyone have a better idea how to solve this problem that wipe the HARD drive and reinstall Windows XP?Btk (billy the kid)Hi btk.
Wait what he well go through start up even if it's on the side.
When finished, press the CTRL and ALT keys and then use the arrow keys to adjust the orientation of the screen. Normally, the up arrow will do the trick, but sometimes it takes playing with arrows for a while before finding a way to recover it as you wish. That should do it.
Good luck!

my screen is turned sideways and I do not know how to fix it
my screen is turned sideways and I don't know how to fix it.
Hello
If the office appeared on the side, then I suggest you to follow the steps below.
Press CTRL + ALT + arrow key . If that doesn't work try CTRL + ALT + one of the other arrow keys.
Also try to do a right click on the desktop, select Graphics Options | Rotation | Normal
If you have changed from Portrait to landscape in the display settings, then follow the steps to get back to Portrait.
Control Panel-> display-> screen resolution
It is not an option called Orientation where you can choose between landscape & Portrait.

Everything on my screen has tripled in size how it back to the normal size, ps I tried the right hand winder on cone and it just reduces the font size not all things on the screen itself
Your lowered obtained resolution. This can occur if you are running an older game that uses 800 x 600 for example.
Control Panel > display > settings - change the resolution to correct for your monitor. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!
