Example: Pavl'ln Slimline s5-1: Front USB Ports NOT working

Really need help from the experts here - model desktop HP Pavilion Slimline s5-1: H2M46AA (a Joshua motherboard with H61 Intel Chipset) crashed hard drive and have no original driver. Clean install of Win7 Home Premium SP1. Everything is OK except other devices, Universal Serial Bus (USB) bus controller. Driver is not found. After installing Win7, installed an ethernet driver and the original files Chipset installed HP Web site. All drivers OK except the foregoing who apparently controls USB ports before 2 which did not. Then, installed all updates provided by Windows Update. USB ports before always inoperative. They worked before the new Win7. After much research, unusable before USB ports seems to be a common problem, but none of the planned solutions help (check that the cables, turn off completely, Intel Driver Update Utility, etc.). On my system, the first of the 4 ID material for this device shows as: PCI\VEN_104C & DEV_8241 & SUBSYS_2ADA103C & REV_02. According to pcidatabase.com, this is identified as: "Texas Instruments USB 3.0 XHCI Host Controller" and therefore a possible problem. The ports are, I believe, USB 2.0 and not 3.0 according to Joshua documentation (http://www.foxconnchannel.com/ProductDetail.aspx?T=motherboard&U=en-us0000525 see also "\windows\inf\setupapi.dev.log" shows there is no files on the drive associated with the ID of the above material because they are not found during the installation of the driver.) So the question: How can I get these ports USB works - have installed to each HP update recommended for this system. I'm puzzled!

You're right, it's just an update of the driver, but I think that this is specified, you can see the technique of reference:

  • HP a6554f: Front USB Ports not working for a6554f

Hi, I cleaned the dust from my computer yesterday for the first time because the computer kept crashing. I removed the motherboard, so I unplugged everything that was clinging to her and I also removed the hard drive then plugged everything once I had finished, (do not know if I just plugged in as it was, even if I took a video of it, but the wasen can't good quality so I had to guess a little). I also added thermal compound to the cpu.

Anyway, everyhting seems to work except the 2 usb ports front of the case. It was working fine until I opened the case (this is why I do not open the computers, but the dust was just too). The audio ports and microphone located in the front work correctly. And the rear USB ports are working properly.

What I've done so far is running pilot Booster and also I went to Device Manager > USB Bus controllers, then I turned off everything on the list, then allowed them again. And nothing has worked.

I don't know much about computers so I don't want to go to the hassle of opening the case cause once again I was scared lol but could I maybe hooked up a cable in the port of fake?

Also, is there a diagram to show where each cable goes to the a6554f model?

As you pointed out the audio before and MIC ports are working, then it might be just the plug for the ports before USB is not properly or is in the wrong place.  Here is a page that relates to the motherboard. In the lower right corner of the image or the page layout scheme, there are two blocks header before normally taken into USB ports.  Says F_USB1 and F_USB2.  Either we must work to the front ports.  Check to make sure that the wiring box beam (which has the wires going to the front USB ports) is connected on one of them.

  • Satellite A200-1tw psae6e - USB ports not working not

I use windows 7 ultimate on Satellite A200-1tw (psae6e-06u030du) and my usb ports no longer works correctly.
In fact they recognize certain usb devices, but not all (for mouse and printer example work, but my USB does not work)

Looking at the Device Manager, everything seems OK... No problem!

Does anyone have a solution for my problem.

    Thanks :)

    Hello

Try resetting the USB ports. This means that you need to remove the USB ports/hubs/controllers in Device Manager.
Then, you have to restart the laptop to get new USB ports.
In my case it has worked.

By the way; I recommend upgrading the chipset driver and disable the feature for each energy-saving usb port.
This can be done in the Device Manager-> port USB-> properties-> tab to save energy

  • HP Pavilion G6-2146sl: HP Pavilion G6-2146sl left USB ports not working not

Hi, I have a HP Pavilion G6-2146sl with Windows 7 Ultimate x 64... my problem is that the two left USB ports stopped working properly: for example, when I insert a USB flash drive lights up but it is not recognized by Windows. Is the only port that works on the right side of the laptop. I tried to do a search of driver, but Windows cannot find driver. Here is a screen of my Windows device management:

Thank you in advance for your help and sorry for my bad English, I'm Italian.

    Hello

  • Before USB ports not working only not with non-powered devices such as USB memory keys

    I have a K430 with 2 front USB ports.

When I connect a device like an iPod, it works fine.

When I connect a device not powered such as USB keys nothing happens:

    1. No light illuminating on the stick.
    2. No recognition of the device by Windows.

I tried the stick in a hub connected to the ports on the back and it works fine.

I am typing by using a USB keyboard connected directly to the ports on the back, so I know they work.

I saw a post similar (but different) for a K450, but after trying to update the drivers from the chipset, I get a response saying that my drivers are all up to date for all USB devices on the system.

    I am running Windows 8.1

Any other suggestions? (I want to avoid a reset to the factory settings that my wife uses the PC for work and it would take an age to reinstall all the software and rebuild the file structure)

    Well,.

I tried to update the drivers, but that did not help so I investigated further.

It turns out that the case goes beyond just enough away on the PC and my USB (they are both relatively old) that the connector has no sitting far enough into the hole. Once I used a cable to connect the two everything worked normally.

Thanks for those who took the time to read my post.

  • Equium A60 - 692 USB Ports not working not

Hi all - new to the forum and what a good place to find info on Toshiba laptops. Anyway - after a recent storm, I lost connection to my ISP broadband - contacted the helpline who advised me to Exchange my ADSL modem to an Ethernet - made and corrected the connection problem - however - only after having it done I realize has none of my devices (printer, camera, Web Cam etc.) worked via the USB ports. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the system and drivers for devices without result. The device displays 500ma of power manager is available for each of the 3 ports but watch 0ma used. The Device Manager also shows that the USB ports are working properly. Can someone help or advise if these ports on a separate card or they are part of the motherboard. If Yes, where can I get a. Congratulations to all - Andy

A lighting strike is not good news, if she gets hit by a kind something can go wrong. My guess is that your laptop USB ports has taken suddenly by a massive power surge that probably damaged the chips inside. It could be a Windows problem, or not the only thing I could suggest is to use a bootable Linux such as Knoppix CD and run a command called usbview with some USB devices.
If the USB has been confirmed dead then your only option is to use an adapter CardBus USB 2.0 providing your CardBus slot is not damaged too.

  • 8.1 Windows 64 - bit 3 USB ports not working not

I have a model computer T430s 2352CTO, running Windows 8.1, 64-bit version. Before upgrading Windows 8.0 all drivers have been updated. The USB ports 3 worked properly, in particular an external hard drive of 1 GB running. After the 8.1 update, 3 USB ports work always, but only for about 30 seconds, then the hard drive stops. The power led remains on the hard drive, but it no longer displays in windows Explorer.

In Device Manager, I'm gone to Bus USB-> USB controllers Root Hub-> properties-> (under general it says "this device does not work correctly)-> Power Management-> unchecked the box"allow the computer to turn off this device to save energy. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to stop the problem. Any ideas?

As soon as I logged online, all my usb ports stop working... I mainly use my mouse and my web cam... the cam sex is essential for my communication with my wife living abroad... Try as I might, I can't get the laptop to recognize any usb... as soon as I'm online... That is to say the internet disconnct, according to my USB again.

I would be eternally grateful if you could help with this frustrating situation

    Kind regards

    Hi CindyThrelkel,

Try the following steps to resolve the problem:

Method 1: Run the troubleshooter of material and check what is happening.

Open the hardware and devices Troubleshooter

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-hardware-and-devices-Troubleshooter

Method 2: I suggest you perform the clean boot and check.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the above article.

Method 3: You can check after uninstalling and reinstalling the USB drivers , if you are able to connect. You can disconnect all USB devices and then perform the following steps:

    a. Click Start and then click Control Panel.

    b. click System and Maintenance, click System and then click on Device Manager.

Note: If Control Panel is in Classic view, double-click System and then click on Device Manager.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.

    c. in the Device Manager, double-click to expand the "USB Bus controllers", right click on the controller host, click "Uninstall" and click "OK".

Check that if at all, there is an exclamation point on the pilot, it suggests problems with the installed driver.

    d. Repeat step 2 to uninstall all items under 'USB Bus controllers'.

Then, restart your computer and Windows 7 will automatically reinstall all USB controllers.

If you are still having the same problem then you can check the device USB drivers updated using windows update. See the following help link:

Updated a hardware driver that is not working properly

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work correctly

If the edge of the question persists I'll ask allows you to check the chipset driver updates you find on the manufacturer's website. The chipset drivers normally integrate USB controller drivers as well.

  • Dynadock USB Ports not working not

I have a Toshiba Dynadock (unfortunately I do not know the model number I can't). It is less than a year and has two USB ports in the front, with 2 Sockets (I guess that one of the earphones and a microphone), has 4 ports usb at the back and probably a DVI/HDMI port as well.

The problem is that none of the USB ports work on it, you plug a USB device into one of the ports and Windows 7 does not detect something that is attached. It was working fine until recently, and then the printer started to play up by printing only a few lines in a document that you asked to print, and then after that nothing worked (I don't think that the printer is at the origin).

When I reassembled the eject button on the dock, Windows recongonises ejection and hot flashes with the software Dynadock saying "Dynadock has been ejected" or similar.

The computer is a Toshiba. I reinstalled the drivers, made a restore to a date when I heard he was working and have restarted the dock, but nothing worked so far. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    Thank you

  • Spectrum of HP 13-v013tu: USB port not working not not the spectrum 13

Hello.  I bought the HP 13-v013tu a few months ago spectrum and in general the laptop works very well.  However, I noticed that 3 C type USB ports in the back, one of them do not work.  The USB port for the electrical connection to the right is fine, but the two in the Middle, one of them work.  Who does not work does not recognize or even to send power what it is connected (for example, the mobile phone, the external hard drive, load wireless mouse).

I checked the Device Manager and see nothing wrong in the USB options.  Even the option of power management to allow the computer to turn off the device has been disabled.

Can anyone help? Is this a hardware problem?

    Thank you.

USB - C for USB 3 adapter supplied with the laptop you are using? If it works in 2 of the three ports, then the logical conclusion is that the third part is bad. You can actually power the laptop of one of the Thunderbolt-C/USB ports (I have one of these laptops) in order to try in the port which is giving you issues and if he does not have the power, then you have a dead port which will require the replacement of the motherboard.
