Excel formatting
I'm trying to change the style of text in Excel using ActiveX. I could do things like all the horizontal and vertical alignment and define the width, height and the column of row. Right-click on the property node and selecting Help for Style was not very helpful. (Nor has the other assistance with property nodes Excel ActiveX.) I found others on this forum.)
I would like to see documentation on these properties and what type of data they expect. I've even been to the great advice on breakpoint and there a lot of useful information, but not what I'm looking for. If anyone can help, I would be very happy.
By example, if I start the macro recorder and click a cell and select "Format-> cells...". "and set to"BOLD", 8pt, the VBA code looks like this:
With Selection.Font
. Name = "Arial".
. FontStyle = "bold".
. Size = 8
. Bar = False
. Exponent = False
. Index = False
. OutlineFont = False
. Shadow = False
. Underline = xlUnderlineStyleNone
. ColorIndex = xlAutomatic
Ends with
This can be written in LabVIEW in this way:

SMARTVIEW GRAYED EXCEL FORMATTING OPTION
Hello
I have a question. I use excel 2010 to recover from smartview.
As you can see, the use of Excel formatting is dimmed.
Normally, that's how it works. Use Excel formatting is not grayed out.
Anyone know what causes this?
Thank you very much in advance,
Luke
This occurs when you are connected to a form of planning, Smart View uses cell for the only formatting styles, but you can still activate thousands separator, but also other formatting options. If you are an Ad - Hoc connection, you should see the options re-enabled.

Hello
I use oracle 9i reports. I want to create a report in excel format. I created this report, but I want to do a conditional formatting of the column of my report as my need.
I want to put my column in character type while in excel it comes in general or the default number.
How can I do this?
concerningThere is a trick to Excel. To override the automatic formatting in Microsoft Excel, you can make the data in the cell look like:
= "012345".
and it will show 012345 aligned to the left instead of 12345 propped right.
If your query might be:
select '="'||column||'"' from ...

Pivot on POV sheet removes the Excel formatting
When I check "Use Excel formatting" tab display of SmartView 11.1.1.3, I can drill vertically on the dimensions of the spreadsheet and Excel will retain data in digital form.
When I pivot a dimension on the sheet of the POV, the formatting is removed.
This is by design, is this a bug or I still do something stupid? My experience suggests the last, but you never know.
Kind regards
Cameron LackpourThis is normal. Formatting is not retained on a pivot.

Error generating in excel format in BI Publisher
Hello
I faced a problem in BI Publisher where I was getting this error message when you try to generate a report to excel format.
oracle.apps.xdo.template.fo.area.BlockArea.
Version BEEP: Oracle BI Publisher 10.1.3.4.1
Model: XSL - FO
Source of data: XML file
However, if I turn off the 'Enable Document Caching' option in the reports node, the excel report is getting generated. The problem is solved now, but I'm trying to understand what it is and how to turn off the cache it is resolved.
If anyone has faced this problem before and knows the reason - please let me know
Thanks in advance
SujithSujith
If the cache of the doc, just that it puts the document cache. I guess there could be a problem with the caching of files Excel. Have to admit that I can't reproduce it. Turn on cache and advertisement unceasingly the Excel (or other type) are not a failure.
Ahh just noticed you have a XSL - FO model, can you share some data and it so I test and may log a bug?Thank you

Can I write data to a file *.xlxsx without screw the Excel formatting?
I want to add LabVIEW generated in a file nicely formatted *.xlsx, with all the right borders and the width of the columns, etc. data programmatically. But whenever I try to add data to LabVIEW, xlsx file format gets screwed up and the file is corrupted. Is there a way to get around this?
Thank you!

It will probably be easier to use ActiveX control Excel and edit the file in this way, if you have this option, instead of writing the XML directly.

I looked at examples of formatting of cells in Excel, and they have a "range" entry which I do not know how to generate or where it came from. I would like to do something like make the font bolded cells A44. I want to play with color and column widths, but I think I understand that if I know whence these entries and how to tell which file to run on a property node. Thank you
Gregory
A Range object refers to a range of cells. It is one of the classes in the Excel object model. You can create a Range object in several ways. One way is to simply use the Range method of a worksheet object. If you look at the example of the 'Table-write to XL' ships with LabVIEW there are a Subvi, termed "value of the cell value. That shows you how a Range object is created so that its value can be set. In this case, the range is a cell, but the range can be from several cells. Some of the properties for a range themselves from other objects. For example, to set bold, you need to write to the property of 'Police' to a Range object. The 'Font' property is in itself another class (Excel.Font).
All the foregoing is standard ActiveX (nothing to do with LabVIEW), it must essentially be understood programming ActiveX. Regarding Excel, there were numerous examples posted to do various things, and the community has created the thread Excel to gather links to examples. You should carefully read this thread for links to all kinds of examples. NOTE: Do not post a question in this thread - it is a repository of links only.
