Computer Dell laptop XPS L421x turns off randomly
My battery is fully charged, the laptop rather new stops just at random. I don't receive any message until the computer turns off. When I turn on the back, he asks if I boot safe mode or start the computer normally. (still no error message)
I did not bring any changes on the computer, I mainly use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet Explorer.
Any ideas? I think it's because an update has not been successful, but if so, don't know how check/repair.
Hello, Bernadette.
Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.
From the description of the problem, your laptop Dell XPS L421x turns off randomly after that Windows Update has failed. I understand the inconvenience for you.
To help you to propose measures to solve the problem, I would appreciate if you could answer the following questions:
1. you receive an error message or error code?
2 did you do changes on the computer before the show?
You can check the updates recently installed that caused the problem:
See the Windows updates are installed
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/see-which-Windows-updates-are-installed
I also suggest you to check the error messages in the event viewer. If you find error messages after return the exact error message so that we can help you better.
Open event viewer
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-Event-Viewer
What are the information contained in the logs of the event (Event Viewer)?
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/what-information-appears-in-event-logs-Event-Viewer
In the meantime, I suggest you perform the clean boot and check if the problem persists.
Place the computer in a clean boot state, then check if it helps. You can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

When I turn on my laptop dell I get the bluescreen 0x000000ed 0x8718d900 0xc000009c 0x00000000 0x00000000
It's true - you will not engage in any mode with this error and you must type in the EXACT error you see carefully (there are more than that, right?).
You need to return to the answer that you have marked as 'response' and stand OUT the response of engaged Microsoft Support Engineer 'expert' as the 'response' since it is essentially just another wild goose chase. A response is not the same as a response.
Doing so others will allow this look only for unanswered questions to help you.

Laptop has stopped working. I get 2 beeps when the laptop powers and according to beep errors its something to do with the Ram or memory. Both the ram and memory seem to work but the laptop does not light. Everyone has experienced this before?

Satellite A30-414 turn off randomly
Hi, I'm new here. I own this Satellite A30-414. It works well, but it turns off randomly. I explain.
I might use it for non-stop days, it works well, but sometimes it empties and turns off. Then it always turns on the second attempt. I mean, after the stop, I turn it on, I see the MESSAGE, then it turns off again. The second time I turn it on it goes OK and starts Windows XP Pro SP3. There is no particular action, I do it turns off, it can happen any application at any time. As I said, it can stay for days, connected to the internet via wifi or lan, download P2P stuff, no problem not turn off.
I thought it was the temperature because it's warm enough, so I run it on a laptop computer have lower airflow, not at all, it turns off randomly anyway. Maybe I'm thniking more heating unsoldered some brazing under BGA chips, so it might need a redistribution of some chips, maybe the graphics chip
Can you help me please?
Thanx

Such an external Notebook Cooler will not help you solve this problem. The internal cooling fan is designed and tested for this laptop and everything will work perfectly even on high usage. External cooling is not necessary. It's old enough laptop model, so I imagine that a lot of dust blocking the cooling fan. Therefore, clean it with a jet of compressed air to blow the dust from the cooling fans. The exact procedure is described here:

Equium U400-146 begins to turn off randomly
I bought a new Toshiba Equium from PC World, and everything worked perfectly well on...
But a month later it starts then turn off randomly (that is not caused by overheating), and I have to take out it and put again to start again.
He has not been abandoned before, and the AC adapter and the battery work fine
What could be wrong? : S
Well, if Notepad starts turning off spontaneously then an overheating problem may be possible, I mean this isn't a common behavior of mobile and in my temperature only high opinion could cause something like that
In most cases the laptop automatically stops to prevent the equipment from damageMaybe you should check if the cooling modules can work properly and if nothing prevents air circulation
Ensure that the vents are free of dust and debris and don t use the laptop in bed, couch or in places where the air circulation is not possible -
K010 ENVY: my laptop will not turn off
Hello
When I shutdown/hibernate/standby/resume my laptop, it will die completely.
All programs will be closed (when stop or restart) and I think that OS will also close. But the laptop will not turn off. Power LIGHT and fan will stay on.
And when I try to Hibernate, everything is ok, but I have the same problem.
Whenever I have to turn it off by holding the power button, otherwise the battery will be discharged.
After manual turn off, when I turn it on again, everything works correctly:
-If hibernation: OS will continue to last situation.
-If start/stop: OS works normally without error or warning.
After sleep, OS works from the beginning. Because the data stored in RAM and will be deleted after power off.
Perhaps a portable automatic perevent equipment turned off. All the drivers are up to date.
Is there a parameter/software to check and fix my problem?
Thank you
Hello
You are welcome
On some machines, the pilot for 11 series IMEI has been known to cause that kind of question of the judgment, so it may be worth trying an earlier version.
You can use the following method to install an earlier version of the driver IMEI.
Download driver IMEI on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.
http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp66001-66500/sp66228.exe
Disable your wireless card (should be f12 ).
Open your download folder and run the installer - it warns you that it is an earlier version, but simply continue.
When finished, restart the laptop.
If the computer shuts down correctly, turn on your wireless adapter and use the utility on the following link to prevent Windows 10 to update automatically the driver IMEI again.

I have a problem with vista. the computer just turns off randomly for no apparent reason.
the machine is a 4 year HP, and he has never done this before.
No I turn it off when I'm done and then next turn when I need it, but it just stops different lenths of the time, different applications?
It may be a heat problem, the CPU would be shut down automatically as a security measure to prevent it from overheating. To avoid it to be then you need to open the computer and blow the dust out of it and make sure all the fans run correctly.
If this isn't the case, then it might be a virus.

Hello
I got an iPhone 5S for about a year and a half and, for the most part, it was a great phone for me. Yesterday, it turns off randomly every few hours. It already happened, and usually stops the next day. However, it was not the case this time. All day today, it would be random and often turned off and won't turn back on unless it is plugged or I hold all the buttons. In addition, the percentages of battery were in every sense. Sometimes, when turned back on, it will be 100% even it it has low battery symbol flash before the apple logo, as it is powered. About 10 minutes, however, he turned on and says that it is 5%. I'm sitting here watching and it has not extinguished since and has charged up to 11%. I use third-party chargers. I only used a up to the earlier today, when I remembered, I got another loader (which is also a third party). So I went to that one, but I don't think it makes a difference.
It's now about 2 hours. My phone was plugged in and 100% for most of the time. No problems. Then I disconnected and had it for about 2 minutes, works great until I put my case back on. He then turns off. I was able to turn it back on, but it then immediately off again. I plugged and I can't turn it on.
Any ideas as to what could be the problem? And more importantly, a solution?
Sorry this is so long and complicated. I will answer questions about my unusual situation if it helps solve the problem.
Thank you!
