Excessive PEF, cfa files

Whenever I have upload a video to first CS5, it creates these CFA and pef files.  I don't have a problem with them, but after a while, there are virtually thousands of these files until you can't find again your original video or the same file of AF.   My question is, is it possible to have the first place these files in a separate folder, so it does not trash your records?  These files should be kept or after awhile ransacked?  What is recommended?

I have just been informed that the "fix" to turn off the preference XMP to prevent the re-compliant file is not necessary with the Premiere Pro CS5 (5.0.2) update. So be sure that you have this update installed.

  • Photoshop cc 2015. Photomerge does not open Pentax PEF files in Bridge or Photoshop.

I use a Mac Pro with El Capitan. It wasn't a problem for me until the last update of photoshop. Pentax PEF files does not open Photoshop CC 2015, Photomerge. I tried to open Raw Pentax PEF files to my 645Z in bridge-tools-photomerge both file-automate-photomerge in photoshop. Neither the program recognizes the Raw PEF file. Instead, I get this message that Photomerge is in need of at least two selected files. The files the other cameras RAW always opens in photomerge.

Curiously, the Pentax PEF Raw files open in Adobe Raw Converter and open molten at panorama in Adobe's Raw Converter.

I uninstalled creative cloud including my preferences and reinstalled creative cloud with photoshop and bridge. I have reset the bridge preferences.  I checked under the bridge, Healt folder as photoshop cc is selected for the Raw of Pentax PEF file. None of these actions corrected the problem.

A solution would be much appreciated.

Well I finally understood why photomerge did not work on my PEF files. Through a process of elimination, I narrowed the issue down, not a problem in photoshop or bridge, but the way I scored a record believe it or not. When I created and marked a record of a recent meeting of nipples raw files, I added a slash between the digits of the date as this 09/11/15. Once I removed the slashes that everything was back to normal photomerge was able to recognize raw PEF files in this folder.

For some reason, the slash prevented photomerge to recognize raw files in this folder. Yet these same files could still be addressed to panorama of in camera raw. Go figure.

I searched for the answer to this problem without success it's just by chance and a lot of reading that made me try to rename the folder up and down. I hope that this solution will help other people who may come across this problem in the future.

What is the point of this folder? Whenever I start PP a few minutes while working on a project of my SSD is full with more than 30 concerts of this shit that makes it so I can't save or export because it fills the reader. And every time I remove my project is fine its exactly how I left it, but the files keep rebuild no matter how many times I remove them.

    Hi DennisJa,

Matter what Premiere Pro video and audio in some formats, she transforms and caches versions of these items that he

easily accessible when generating previews (these are the media Cache files). Imported audio files are each followed a new .cfa file and MPEG files are indexed in a new .mpgindex file.

The media cache greatly improves performance for previews, because the audio and video elements do not need to be reprocessed for each preview.

    To clean the media Cache:

Edit > preferences > Media (Windows) or Premiere Pro > Preferences > Media (Mac OS)

  • bad audio file

I don't really know what's happening or what's causing this problem.

When I read my calendar, all of a sudden my audio file reproduces the wrong file. If I "reveal in finder" he links to the correct file. Even if I "reveal in the project." If I double click on the file and view it in the Viewer window, the clip is titled "using this script", which is the bad title of the clip. I don't know even where this title comes from.

This problem occurs randomly. I erased the media cache. Don't know what else to do.

This file is likely to contain audio compressed, which will be similar to the import. Once again, how exactly are clearing the cache of media? You need to clean the files from the cache manually by finding the CFA files (located in the folder of media Cache files, situation which is defined in the preferences of media) and delete in the Explorer OS files, not through the 'Clean' function in the media browser.

  • Project imported from another computer, the audio files are jumping or any waveform?

    Hey everybody,

I import a project from another version to date of first Pro CC 2014, it was working fine on another computer but on import some audio in the order and in the source monitor are jump or play just back all choppy as a bad CD. Some audio in the Control Panel Assembly have no waveform. I tried to replace some, that works, but there are a LOT of audio to replace and I'm not 100% sure those who read evil or of the previous editor.

I visited, re-rendering, clear cache and it always does. I'm not sure what is the problem. Also sometimes when I try to make the entire project for the preview, it gives me 'cannot compile the film' unknown error.

Any advice/help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Pense thought to it, here's what I did in the case where someone has a similar problem - had to remove manually everything in the 'Clean' media Cache files did not really work. Am entered and removed everything for re - conform files, worked for some files, but not all. Turns out that on the other drive, there were some PEK and CFA project hidden files in this local disk. I searched .cfa files both .pek and all removed so first can regenerate new ones.  Things work now

Which is wrong with Adobe encoder 2014.2?

Yes, full disc for temporary files is the only cause of audio missing

Eliminated from the start, but still have the same problem on 2 systems with temporary SSDS (half full after batch catcing)

    Solution that works for me:

    1. open SOUL

    2. move control folder 20-30 files

    3. wait that all catches files (in "Adobe TRAN Files" folder is no file name long temp)

    4. open the file 'Adobe caught files' and run ' name: _1 GOLD name: _2 GOLD name: _3 GOLD name: _4 "about Windows Search. Select all and delete.

5 clear trash (disc is full very fast)

    6. start encoding

From my experience, while starting the encoding SOUL create only couple _1 versions of files in batch of 20-30, and so far, all have the sound

  • Partition 32G BootCamp, Virtual Disk - flat hard 125G file!

    Hello

I recently installed VMWare Fusion on my laptop OS X I have created a BootCamp partition and installed XP. I created a partition of 32 GB for XP. I noticed my OS X partition to fill quite quickly. I used "from" to find the culprit and it's a 125 G file created by VMWare Fusion! Is this normal? This seems excessive. The file is located:

    / Users/tammy/Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion/Virtual Machines/Boot Camp of Camp/%2Fdev%2Fdisk0/Boot partition.vmwarevm/Virtual disk - flat hard

Is it possible to get a little less of my OS X Fusion disk space use?

    Thank you.

    Tammy

Well, I had to do a little research and what I found out, is that you can not directly mount a virtual secondary drive while he lies in the Boot Camp Virtual Machine partition and I've tested this with both one unformatted and formatting virtual hard drive and got the exact error and message in the absence of additional information in the log file then here is what you can do.

You can modify the Boot Camp partition.vmx change ide0:1.present = "FALSE" ide0:1.present = "TRUE" then boot partition Boot Camp Virtual Machine and see if the disc is visible in Windows Explorer and if it is not then it has not been formatted and contains nothing, in which case you can remove it from the virtual machine and leave within the Boot Camp partition Virtual Machine package or...

Move the file Disk.vmdk virtual and Virtual Disk - flat hard to the desktop, press ctrl + click on the Virtual Disk.vmdk, and then select open with > VMDKMounter and see what message you get if any.  If it does rise and you get an error message appropriate then it can be deleted safely

Understand that even if I know it's a pain in the thigh but I need something technically absolute that is within reasonable limits, before I will advise someone to delete a virtual hard disk and I hope you understand the reasoning and wisdom behind this!

I forgot to mention that if you choose to modify the Boot Camp partition.vmx this must be done with closed merger.

  • Do I need these media Cache files?

Just found out that they are the reason my disk 1 to C is full. I have 440 GB "CFA file", "PEKFile", "MMPGINDEX" files hidden in my username/users/App

The Cache of data/Roaming/Adobe/Common/Media directory. File names of my Edius editing and Encore DVD/BRD projects - I do not use first. Some are projects that are completed but some current. What are they, do I need them, can I delete all, can I still stop making them in the future?

These are cache files; Yes, you can remove them safely; No, in will always make them.

Set up a customized Windows search to find these files in the future and remove them all at once.  And if you go in first preferences, you can tell Pr to store the files somewhere other than your C: drive.  It is a way of forcing to do the same thing, depending on your version of fr.

Is there any official document vmware dealing with impact do not remove the old clichés of virtual machines - i.e. the performance problems they can cause on the virtual machine itself?

Our admin doesn't see these as a risk at all - but I read old clichés can affect the performance of the virtual machine - but I can't seem to locate any official document where VMware discuss potential issues do not remove the old clichés. To demonstrate this is not not an old wives tale.

You are absolutely right... This does affect not only the virtual machine, but also the back-end storage matrix which could affect the other VM too.

    • Snapshots can adversely affect the performance of a virtual machine. Performance is based on how long the snapshot tree or capture instant is in place, the depth of the tree, and how the virtual machine and the guest operating system have changed since the time took you the snapshot. • Pe11: default project settings = last used project?

I read here somewhere (I can't find the thread again) PE11 still used as project default setting (so before one is added to the assetspanel or timeline) your last project project settings?

    Is it more right?

In my case PE11 always chooses 1080i 25 new empty projects while my projects (and images) are in 1080 p 50. So every time I choose new project / settings etc.

I want to reinstall PE11 (uninstall, ccleaner, reinstall and reconfigurate) after completing my current project, but I have to be shure firstly that PE11 uses as default empty project projects last one that has been used...?

In accordance with the standard audio in files IS normal. This stream Audio (through each file) conforms to the 48 kHz 32 bit floating point for extremely precise editing. This process creates the CFA files, which are what pre will have access on the Timeline, then the PEK files for waveform display. Let the consistent process the full standard 100% to all files imported, before making any change. This article goes into details: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3892177#3892177
