  I found that the maintenance and Service Guide page 29 shows that you can install a 8 GB PCpc3, 12800 1600 MHZ 693374-001 part number.

  If a 32-bit application is compiled with the switch IMAGE_FILE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE set a 4 GB address space is allocated in 64-bit Windows. If this isn't the case, it is allocated to 2 GB.

  For 64-bit applications, if IMAGE_FILE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE is set when compiling - the default value is - it can use up to 8 TB. If IMAGE_FILE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE is disabled, it can use up to 2 GB.

  The 4 and 8 GB sticks are not saved while the sticks of 16 and 32 GB are registered. As you seem to know, you can not mix registered and unregistered sticks. For example, you can only add 4 or 8 GB sticks to your present 8 GB sticks

  Chapter 1 page 1-1 provides the memory upgrade information (Yes, you can install 2 x 4 GB of PC3-8500 memory or 10600).

  Just make sure you get chips with 8 black memories of each side of the Board.

  Unless you live in the United States, I know not what brands are available in other countries or where you can buy them.

I want to upgrade my ram, somewhere, I read that it can be improved with 256 MB, so that there then 320Mo. My question is now, what I have to use 2 pieces of 128 MB of ram or can I use 1 piece of 256 MB of ram. The point is a friend gave me a 256MB ram for PC laptop (pc-100) toshiba, I put it and it seems to work (win2k showed me the 320Mo compleet), but can it be problems, using this a big RAM?

  I think you mean a Satellite Pro 4310?

  Normally it only uses the modules of memory up to 128 MB. But if your laptop is running with this 256 MB module, there should be no problem.
