Expansion of the RAM from 512 to 1024 MB. Much better?

Hello
I want to enhancen the standard memory of this tecra M2 from 512 to 1024: who gives such a faster computer or gain is not that value?
Thanks in advance

Hello

Extension of RAM is always good and that portable computer efficiency. I don't know what kind of work, you must use this device, but if you do some complex diagrams or design work, I think that you will be able to notice that the laptop can much better and faster to complete all the given process.

    Hello

you mean the type that ask what size would be funny. :) (more is better)
The right type for that machine is DDR333 and the maximum amount of RAM you can install is 2 GB (2 x 1 GB memory module).

It does not matter which manufacturer but I can tell you from my experience as a well-known brand (kingston, crucial, samsung) is always not more then a no name. And try to use two absolutely similar modules for reasons of compatibility and performance.

    Hope I could help.

    Welcome them

See Richard Harper response and also read here
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/system-requirements,
that tells you that you need at least 1 GB.

And even 1 GB is not enough for a decent performance with almost any
You can run applications. It's been a long time since 512MB has been
sufficient for correct performance with any version of Windows.

  • Reduce the RAM from 4 GB to 2 GB

    Original title: "change the RAM"

to install "lego racers 2', I saw advice to reduce the RAM of 4 GB to 2 GB, install, then increase the RAM to 4 GB. How can I do this and are there any risks involved?

Had to hop in this one, too much outside the walls, not to do!

LEGO Racers 2 is an older title, looks like it was released in 2001. This is the page for Windows Vista compatibility:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-Vista/details.aspx?type=software&p=LEGO%20Racer%201%262&v=ValuSoft&UID=&pf=0&PI=0&s=LEGO%20racers%202&OS=32-bit

Doesn't look as if it were entirely consistent. I found the thread (warning: third-party Web site) Dominic refers to the good. It seems that when users have more than 2 GB of RAM and try installing the game, Setup returns with an error "not enough memory". When they get out a stick of RAM and get up to 2 GB or less, he moved very well. After that they can reinstall the RAM and the game will play very well.

My best advice is to contact the manufacturer of your system using Add/Remove RAM since the steps differ by the system. If you can provide your system and the model, I'm sure we could find the manual for you, or at least get you pointed in the right direction. But all-in-all, I see no problem temporarily remove little RAM to get the game installed. Just be sure to put yourself in the Earth (by entering the metal case) before touching any components and you should be fine.

  • Satellite Pro M70: Advice on the expansion of the RAM

    Hello world

I have a SPro M70 with 512 RAM installed. I'll install a memory 1024 RAM card today. Please advise if I should install new RAM in a particular location. Is there a primary & secondary slot / configuration?

    Thank you

    Hello

Your device has two slots. It is not important in what location you will put a new, larger module, but I recommend you put it in the slot A (where is now 512 MB RAM) and the old module to location B.

The compatible RAM 1 GB module for your appliance is DDR2 400/533 1 GB (PA3411U-1M1G). Please make sure that you use right (100% compatible).

    Bye and good luck!

  • Re: Satellite Pro 2100: problem upgrade RAM from 512 MB to 1 GB

OK atm I have 512 MB in my netbook and I want to upgrade to 1 GB
now, I have already 512 MB in the nebook and I had another
but when I insert the other 512 MB
the only thing I get is a black screen

    Hello

The laptop supports 1 GB RAM max.
This means that you can use 2 x 512 MB max modules. Module of 512 MB in each slot.

I guess 1 GB of RAM is not supported and therefore you cannot start the device correctly!

    Go back to 2 x 512 MB

  • I added the ram from the motherboard, but Win 7 Pro don't consider it useful, why? The system recognizes it.

I added 4G of ram on the motherboard.  Win7 recognizzes the extra but is not it's usable, why?

If its 32 bits, it will only recognize 3.25 to 3.75 GB. You need 64 bit if you install more than 4 GB

ScanGear is just the scanner driver. Are you talking about software, Canon MP Navigator EX scanning? Which is available for download from the Web site.

  • More on RAM one 512 MB to 2 GB Windows XP Pro will improve performance?

Hello & happy holidays to all!

First of all, some info system for your reference.  (Computer was purchased USED (s) at the end of 2010).

Desktop Dell Dimension 3000 (Internet modem cable connection)

    Windows XP Pro, SP3

Intel Pentium 4 3.00 gHz CPU

    512 MB of RAM (256 MB x 2)

    40 GB HD (60% freespace)

I noticed my computer becomes slow... cold boots / restarts, Internet connection, e-mail load, and even just to open Word or Excel, while offline.  A number of occasions, (using a stopwatch), I checked how long it takes to do just a restart.  From the moment where I press ENTER> key after entering my password, it took as long as 23 minutes for the system show 5 items in the to-do bar , etc., and the hard drive light to go out before I can even begin to do anything on the computer.  (All the desktop icons willl display within 10 seconds of a restart).  AV & anti-malware scans reveal no problem.

My question is the following: upgrading the RAM from 512 MB to 2 GB [1 GB x 2] (acceptable according to the specifications of Dell), would provide a significant improvement in my computer speed & efficiency, or would I just lose money & end up to have to go and try to find a used computer with more memory?  Living on a fixed, disability leaves me with many options.

Thank you for your time and suggestions!

Considerably improve the performance? N °

All you need to do is determine what process is hogging memory and/or resources. To do this, open the Task Manager and make sure that the process tab is selected. Click on the CPU. Then click again on the CPU. This will cause the greediest process in resources to display at the top of the list. You can do the same thing with use of Mem. In your next post, tell us what are the worst offenders of both.
About the memory, here's a way effective to determine if there is enough (in other words, if your system is too much relying on the swap file):

Open (Ctrl + Alt + Delete) Task Manager, and then click the performance tab. Then the three values under Commit Charge (k) Note: in the lower left corner: Total, limit and peak.

The Total number represents the amount of memory you are using right now. The vertex figure represents the maximum amount of memory you made since the last boot. If these figures are lower than the value of the amount of physical memory (K), then you probably have lots of RAM. In case you want to study it more, you can run the Page queue Monitor for Windows XP:

  • Can Qosmio G50 - 10I - I increase the RAM?

    Hello

    I have the Qosmio G50 - 10I OS Windows 7 64 bit with 4 096 (2 048 + 2 048) of RAM MB DDR2 RAM (800 MHz) memory technology.

I noticed that behind the laptop there is only or not that I can see the two places for the memories. The question is can I increase memory up to 8 GB?

I think that there are no memories as 8 GB (4 GB + 4 GB)

    Hello

I think that you have to consult your user manual! ;)
The manual shows the following related to the capacity of RAM:
+ Memory 512 MB, 1024 MB, 2048MB and 4096MB can be installed in two locations of memory in the computer for a maximum of 8192 MB of memory. +

In the user manual you can find instructions how to exchange the modules.

As you can see, it would be useful to read the manual before posting a question!

  • Satellite Pro A60 - I want to upgrade the RAM

I bought a second hand Pro A60 and would like to increase its memory. I never have, so I need a little guidance. First of all, the system tells me that I have 2 x 250 MB of RAM. I understand that these are not removable, but I could add a 1 GB extra to give me the max of 1.5 GB.

I think that the locations of memory are in B4, but when I open it I do not see an obvious empty slot. I guess what I see are among the 250 MB, but nothing else.

Offers of additional State of RAM installation is simple, but a free slot is not obvious.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

On this laptop, just a slot is placed at the bottom. Turn off and let us know what capacity has this RAM module. You can buy new with more capacity and put it in this slot.
A RAM is probably under the keyboard. Remove the RAM from the bottom and start your laptop. check the amount of RAM is recognized.

If mobile shows 256 MB then you can add a RAM in low 1024 MB PC2700 (PA3313U-1M1G) and you will have approximately 1280MB what is the max RAM this laptop to handle with.

  • PC RUNNING SLOW - UPGRADE RAM FROM 2 GB TO 8GM

I did something wrong: I: 2011 ACE EMACHINE, AMD Dual Core 64-bit E300 1.3 GHz with a 500 GB hard drive.  The operating system is Win. 7 at home.

    1. when I increase the RAM from 2 GB to 8 GB (7.5 can be used) that means?  I understand that some are for the system.

    2. How will I know which programs are appropriate to use with my RAM memory?

    3. once I did the installation, my computer still work slow why? Do I need more high grade for my PC better?  If Yes, what?

I thank very you much for your time.

You asked: when I increase the RAM from 2 GB to 8 GB (usable 7.5) what does that mean?

I have already replied to this above. Part of memory is used by the system to manage the rest of the memory.

You said: I don't have that 1 or 2 program open at the same time.

You could use only 1 or 2 both programs, but in fact, your computer has hundreds of programs running. This is what is listed in the Task Manager process tab.  You can consult this list to identify what type of program is using a lot of your CPU cycles and causing slowness.
