Expiry of the history of Firefox
I understand that the historical timeout mechanism put in place to improve the performance of Firefox can not be turned off again (stable release and yet the most recent Firefox).
and I know (it was confirmed by others here) that adding places.history.expiration.max_pages may substitute the expiration entry used to work on the latest version.
Today I updated my firefox 14.0.1 and I wonder if it still work.
Thank you!
Yes.

Miss me the function clear history in the history menu Firefox
I am currently using Firefox 21. Since the 19th, the function 'clear history' in the menu history Firefox disappeared. So no way click on it and clear the history you like, last time... or everything. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the browser several times without change. Only way to clear the history is by manually deleting on the left side of the window after doing Ctrl + h is it possible to set the browser?
Do you clear recent history in the menu background?

All the possible ways to recover the history of Firefox?
I downloaded Firefox 4.0. I didn't like it so I went down to Firefox 3.5. I had to reboot my computer. After that, my favorites are still there, but my story had disappeared.
I'm extremely desperate to get it back and it was making me feel upset throughout the day now.
If you downgraded to Firefox 3.5 Firefox 4, it will be deleted the history and cookies, demotion to 3.6 does not remove these data. This is because Firefox 4 uses a new format to store cookies, bookmarks and history. Firefox 3.6 can read this format, but Firefox 3.5 cannot. Firefox 3.5 will qualify the new formats of corrupted files and replace them with the new files, import bookmarks from a backup.
As you seem to be using Firefox 3.6.16 now, you may be able to recover. Open your profile folder, for details of how to find it, see https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Profiles
Now close Firefox. Is there a file called places.sqlite.corrupt? If there is, rename places.sqlite to places.sqlite.old, and then rename places.sqlite.corrupt to places.sqlite, restart Firefox and it should you have history and bookmarks in the time that you use Firefox 4.

How can I remove some of the history of firefox
I have Firefox history from 2008 to 2016. How can I remove 2008-2012? Can I make a backup of part only?
What story do you have in this time?
You can type a colon in the search bar in the Manager history (library) to get a list sorted by time and then start to delete the history from the bottom. It is best not to select too many items at once by Shift + Ctrl + PG. Prev starting from the bottom, 1000 is a good value to start. You can press the delete key to delete the selected items.

Pop ups store in the records of the history of Firefox?
I would like to know if the ads pop-up/sites are stored in the history folder.
All the web pages that you visit are stored in your history, as much as your privacy settings allow to keep the story. It doesn't matter if you visit the pages in a tab, a window or a pop-up window.

How can I disable the history in firefox?
When I connect to, for example, my yahoo mail account, when I start typing my user name in this field, a list of users appears, as if my email is "[email protected]", all users whose name begins with 'J' will be displayed. As I type away, say "Ji", all users whose name begins with "Ji" will be displayed. I would like to disable this feature. How can I do this?
Thank you.
It is not Alt and F10, but it's only on F10 hold down the Alt key to display the menu bar.
Follow these steps to delete the recorded data (form) in a drop-down list:
- Click on the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop-down list
- Select an entry in the drop-down list with the mouse or the cursor key
do not click with the mouse or press the Enter key - Press the DELETE key (on a Mac: shift + del) to delete the highlighted entry

I recently found a few Google and Youtube search, on my boyfriend's computer results in Firefox, which were "questionable" and when I asked him about them, he categorically denied knowing what they were and said he recently had some viruses on their computer and they could have put these results there. I don't know if this is possible or not. The only thing similar to what I have heard is virus redirecting you to a certain site, but not to specific google and youtube results, and if it happened, he should see, right? I think it's the version 11.0. Help!
It is possible that you have a virus which was redirect, but if there is research on Google and Youtube searches, it is likely that someone is doing some research.
You can try to run these tools to search for infections: http://www.malwarebytes.org/
http://support.Kaspersky.com/FAQ/?QID=208283363
So I can't say for sure your boyfriend made these, but it is highly likely that 'somebody', not 'something' not their.

Consult the history of last year?
I'm trying to find out what are the sites that I was on a year ago, but keeps it single story followed up to 6 months. Is it possible to recover the history a year ago?
No, if the history is kept only for 6 months, then ancient history is no longer available.
By default in versions of Firefox 3 is to maintain history for 180 days (6 months). In Firefox 4 + has changed to a maximum number of pages that is preserved.
If you can update Firefox 8 and he will remember more of the story, but you can retrieve ancient history.
There is no time limit in versions of Firefox 4 + for the history.
Firefox automatically determines the number of pages can be kept without affecting performance.
You can see the current value through the places.history.expiration.transient_max_pages pref readings only on the subject: config page.See:

It's not bad.
These files are all in the same Firefox profile folder?
They have the name of places.sqlite or is there something added?
You only need one of them and this is the file that Firefox currently uses to store the history and bookmarks.
You can check for problems with the database places.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder.

Firefox does not respond when you try to delete the history.
When I go to "clear recent history" and click on "Clear now" he says immediately that the program is not responding. Done the same after the restart. It is not let me clear my history, and I've tried 6 times, all with the same results... I have to close the program from the Task Manager. Is there a solution?
It is normal to take a long time to clear the history, particularly if you include clear memory Cache. Your hard disk activity probably going to be continuous. I would give it at least 2-3 minutes before you assume that Firefox has stopped working.
