Explorer not updating websites

I use IE 8 and I found that at least two Web sites update their content on their site, but it will not update for me to see.  Both of my computers using Windows 7 have this problem. Any ideas please?

The only suggestion I can make is try the IE Forum - http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/InternetExplorer/threads

Give them as many details as possible, such as the operating system, version IE etc all other relevant information.

    Hello...

I recently had a problem requiring a reinstall instead of XP Pro 32-bit to backrev to SP2. Basically I have been running SP3, but was constantly reminders, insistence, etc to update to IE8, and after continuous pressure, I finally said 'ok' and went ahead with it. And he threw quickly across into itself.

Accordingly, I did an uninstall of IE8, but concluded that IE7 could no longer work. After checking for a solution and try the patches recommended, nothing has worked, and since I'm at SP3, IE7 could not be uninstalled (this is possible for SP2). There is no information available for SP3 uninstall, so I had finally "repair" XP by doing a reinstall instead of booting from the XP SP2 cd. It worked pretty well, and everything was back to normal, even if I was now running IE6.

So, I had the ACR IE7 on your site and tried to install it. There is no problem during installation - no message of error - but after the reboot. I was unable to open IE7 anyway. ERGO, I had no choice but to uninstall it. Thank gawd I rarely use IE; nothing else was touched and Firefox & Acoo both work very well.

To try to resolve the problem of IE7, some "corrections" for "IE7 will not run" involve open IE7 and perform certain tasks. Seems to be quite a task: IE7 will not run, so go ahead and open and... Riiight. Anyway, I don't have the tools of correction for reset and disable add-ons, but unfortunately, they specify that I must first install SP3. No way will reinstall SP3 until I see IE7 work @ SP2; Simply much too, it would mean an extra effort to do a re-install of SP2.

I'm ready to install other patches, although I noticed that nothing has been downloaded after I backrevved to SP2. As a result, I went to windowsupdate.microsoft.com do updates manually. He installed the required ActiveX control, analysis, and then returns the following message is displayed:

"The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view. The options provided below may help you solve the problem.

    For self-help options:

    To support options:

So I am now running SP2 and everything seems fine, except that I can't apply updates, nor can I run IE7.

Virus Info: this machine is running Microsoft Security Essentials and AVG Antivirus, and both are up to date and returned "no items found" after a FULL analysis. I also did a manual FULL scan using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (also updated to current rev & GIS files) and it is an executable placed under my login in Documents & Settings of DiVX, that triggers an application running ads when I open the DiVX player. He was NOT in the Windows directory. AVG and MSE up-to-date and run full scans every night, so if you believe it is a virus, I would need proof. You would also be admitting that MSE is wrong; I've been running for more than a year.

Caution: again, I won't install SP3 & IE8 until I see that IE7 will run correctly @ SP2, which - at least in part, it will apply updates that I can't apply. Please spare me the answer "well, updated to SP3 and IE8 first, and we'll see if that fixes it. If you're wrong, I'll be right where I started and will have to go through the process again to get where I am now, lose a lot of time in the process. I don't know if it is a community site, but please, only a response from someone who can provide real help for the problem of why the update site simply says there is a problem, but does not provide any additional information about the error.

Yes, I know that XP will support discontinued from April 2013. It is now Sept 2012.

Thanks in advance for any help legitimate that you can offer.

The Windows update website no longer unless you are at SP3. I did a new install of SP2 and verfied. The mistake that almost everyone gets in these conditions is 0x8024400A. I think that if you look at the WU error page again you will see this code.

You say that you will not install SP3 so we cannot help. You are committed to a comprehensive system of faults for the life of the PC. If you change your opinion then we do know and I/we will try to help.

  • Is problem with Windows Explorer (not Internet Expl.) - possible to reinstall this software or update?

I have several problems which, after some time, can be attributed to a problem with the Windows Explorer (not: Internet Explorer)

    Examples:

-files are not finished (so that they remain in a queue forever) (this happens every time)

-When I try to replace a file from one directory to another this process is at a standstill (occurring rarely)

-When I shut down, I get a message that trying explore but unable to play the fine tune (sometimes)

-in Word, I get printer messages not responded or other problems with opening files-Word (sometimes).

Remarkable (?): boot in normal mode is always successful, even after the crash on shutdown.

    Question:

-is it possible to reinstall this software or update?

    - or something is needed to get a solution?

    Hi Niels,

    1. When did you start to question?

2 did you recent hardware or changes to the software of the system?

    Method 1:

    Step 1:

You can check if the problem occurs in safe mode.

Start your computer in safe mode

    Step 2:

If you are not faced with the question in safe mode, then you can try to perform a clean boot and check if it helps.

A clean boot to check if startup item or services to third-party application is causing this issue.

You can read the following article to put the computer in a clean boot:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

In addition, after you fix the problem, you can see step 7 above to restore your computer to a Normal startup mode.

    Method 2:

If you are faced with the question in safe mode, you can run a Checkdisk to see if there are drive errors that can cause this problem.

Check your hard drive for errors

Note: When you run the disk check, there are chances of losing data if you can take a backup before starting the checkdisk.

  • Do I need Internet Explorer security updates if I use Firefox?

    Hello!

I can't find an answer to this question via a Google search, so I ask you here please. I use Windows 7 and see a lot of regular updates to Internet Explorer during installation. But I never use Internet Explorer, I only use Firefox. So I wanted to know, I will put my Firefox security at risk by installing does not updates of Internet Explorer published by Windows? A flaw in one another browser affect?

    Thank you!

    Alice.

Firefox uses Internet Explorer to access the internet, but some components of Windows that Firefox needs, such as network components, could be linked with IE so that IE updates will affect them.

In addition, Internet Explorer can be used by other Windows applications to access the internet in the background.

So yes, it is strongly recommended that you keep it up-to-date.

    1. try Method 1 to above website. Run (Checksur.exe) system update readiness tool

    2. do you have Service Pack 1 installed Vistra?

Method 2 is in the list.

    3. method 3 is to do a Vista repair install.

You need good Vista disc to do this.

    4. If none of the works above, you need to reinstall Vista, using either the recovery disk/s or the recovery partition.

Save all data before you do, because it will be lost when reinstalling.

Had to do a restoration complete my xp machine and will not update, in the past, system automatically updated with cartridges of siema etc service?

What is happening, it is that it is so more the possibility of a user friendly hands on automatic update of Windows XP from a clean install.  Windows Update will NOT synchronize with and updated in the current order status to update a machine with a clean install of XP, but you separately download some patches and intermediate updates and apply them manually, to have a machine that connects a bit normally with Windows Update.

Install the last update cumulative security for the version of Internet Explorer you have currently is essential, and you need to download separately and install it before going any further.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2888505

Scroll to the information file for XP and Server 2003

Download the file corresponding to your version of Internet Explorer and install first.

It is also highly recommended that you install Firefox because IE8 is limited, probably compromised and sometimes useless and will crash on many sites, including Microsoft sites, including linked just above.
