Export add to this catalogue creates duplicate folder tree

Under folders, I have the disc space (d) and then my folder structure. I take a picture for export and select "add to catalogue". LR creates a new Local (d) disk under folders with the file of the newly exported file. I use LR CC on Win7 64 bit.

For those seeking a response.

Depending on how you choose the destination folder under Export location in the export dialog box, it returns the drive letter in upper or lower case. It's tiny, LR then creates a new disk in the folder Panel.

If I search a folder in the folder tree in the choose a folder dialog box, I get a capital letter (d), if I take one of the icons of folders in the right pane, or navigation bar, I get a drive letter of the lower case (d).

Thanks to Tanuj composition in my computer and diagnose the cause. Thanks to Victoria to have the right idea.

  • How can I create a folder?

Once I have my new iPad Pro, I would like to have a folder to put in all the applications I use never - how can I do? That's all built two and third party apps.

Or better yet, is there a way to simply delete/banish from your iPad (I know they're going to be in my list of purchase forever unfortunately)-in this case, I want to talk about third-party applications.

Press and hold any application until they begin to squirm. Select any application you want to be in the folder, drag and drop it on top of any other application that you want to be in the folder. This will create the folder to which you can assign any name you want.

  • Is it possible to create a folder that can hide files automatically, when they are copied in it?

    Hello!!!

Is it possible to create a folder that can hide files automatically, when they are copied in it? I mean how to program a folder so that everything that he would automatically become hidden? I would be very grateful...

Is it possible to create a folder that can hide files automatically, when they are copied in it?

    Yes. A sort of roundabout.

For this example, create a folder on your C drive named HideTest.

Download http://winsupport.org/utilities/freedos-choice.html Choice.Exe (click on the link to download the utility program near the bottom of the page. "And save it in the C:\HideTest folder).

Open Notepad and then copy and paste the following text in it:

    Off @Echo

    : All
    Set FilesToHide = No.

    : GoToDir
    C:
    cd\HideTest

    : Top
    CLS
    IF FilesToHide %! Is Yes! Attrib *. * + H

    : Choice
Choice.Exe /c:YN t:Y, 30 are looking for files to hide
    If ErrorLevel 2 Goto: exit

    : MakeList
    Dir > TempList.Txt

    : CheckFiles
    Set FilesToHide = No.
    Find.Exe "0 file (s)' TempList.Txt
If ErrorLevel 1 Set FilesToHide = Yes
    If exist TempList.Txt Del TempList.Txt

    : Loop
    Goto: Top

    : Output
    Set FilesToHide =
    If exist TempList.Txt Del TempList.Txt
    Output

Click on file, then save under...

    Go to C:\HideTest

    Name the file Hide.Bat

    Click Save

    Close Notepad

    Open Windows Explorer

Go to C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Start where user_name is your own username.

In the right pane, right click, select New, and then click shortcut.

Click Browse, and then navigate to C:\HideTest and click on Hide.Bat, click Next.

Type a new name or accept the default name and click Finish.

Right-click on the newly created shortcut, and click Properties.

Change the race: from the normal window to reduced.

Click on apply, and then click Ok.

    Restart your computer.

Note: In the line above Choice.Exe c:YN t:Y, 30 are looking for files to hide, 30 is the number of seconds it will wait before checking the new files. This can be from 1 to 99.

Edit: Just to satisfy my curiosity, why do you do this?

  • Merge several files in many subfolders in a single folder tree

I have several sets of records, each with several subfolders, trees each subfolder that contains several files. I would like to merge all this into a single folder tree, maintaining the same subfolder structure and each subfolder containing a single set of files, eliminating all inevitable duplicates of the merger.

Do this manually with Windows Explorer, it is painful and long. I have to select all the files in any subfolders, and then drag the selection to the subfolder in the main folder tree, choose 'move and replace' and check "do the same for the next x conflicts and repeat this process for each of the many secondary issues."

Although I did an online search before posting this call for assistance, I have saw that of the utilities that will merge all files into multiple files in a single folder, I saw not a utility that will do what I need.

I hope that someone will know of a utility that will allow me to win this manually for the next years!

    Thank you in advance.

The solution proved to be easier than I thought.

Rather that you select all of the files in each folder separately, which was painful and long, I chose each tree at once, and Windows Explorer did the rest, as it did before.

  • I exported a .tif file and created a new folder for it. Why the file does not show in the catalogue?

The file should show in the catalogue?

No, the default export does not cause the picture to appear in the catalog, and it causes the folder appear in the files Panel.

There is an option in the export dialog box that automatically imports the exported photos in the catalog, maybe that's what you want, maybe not. I rarely see a necessity to have exports included in the catalogue. Most of the people the export only when necessary for the purposes non-Lightroom, and in this case, there is no reason to keep exports in the long term, you can always recreate the exported photo by exporting it again.

  • When the help to create a folder in Robo duplicates are created in each structure

When you try to create a CSS folder in style sheets, it duplicates this file in the HTML files, Images and multimedia disabling it to create duplicates?

    Capture.PNG

    Hello

    It is perfectly expected behavior.

Note that each of these "structures" is really just a "filter" with the files of that specific type. The record is really there only once on your operating system. You can easily confirm that in right click on one of these Explore by choosing from the context menu. In fact, if you did you will also notice that there is no real folder named multimedia or Style sheets, Images.

If you find it too distracting to this way of seeing things, perhaps you should consider switching to Classic view to global vision.

  • Export to ePub creates duplicate images

    Product: InDesign CC

I have a 100 page document + which contains a small decorative roller on each page. If I had to place the image in a master page, the image will be explort in PDF format and print on paper as it should, however, I need to export the file to ePub as well.

When I look at the ePub file in Dreamweaver, I see that there are 101 cases of the file... everyone has their own unique file name (example: scroll - 1.gif, scroll - 2.gif, scroll - 3.gif), but must only be one (such as scroll.gif).

Is there a setting in InDesign that will allow me to export to ePub and re - use the same file rather than create duplicates of it for each instance on a page?

    Thank you

    Hello Stephen,

If all your images are the same and you have no effect applied, you can uncheck the option "Preserve the aspect of page layout" epub export dialog box options while epxorting to EPUB. In this case, you should get a single image and not many copies.

Hope this has solved your problem.

    Kind regards

I had to reload vista microsoft to my pc.  When I did it created a folder called "Windows.old" that contains the old folders and files, some of which are system files.  I am trying to remove the old version (folder), but get the error code 0 x 80070091.  I took possession of the folder and subfolders, but I can't delete the files or folders.  Can anyone help?  Do I have to rename the folders and files, so he doesn't think I'm removing system folders and files?

    1. Click the Start button to open Disk Cleanup . In the search box, type Disk Cleanup, and then, in the list of results, click Disk Cleanup.

If you are prompted to choose a drive, click the drive that you have just installed Windows on and then click on OK.

  • Why "save under" create a folder separated for images when the page is saved.

for example, when you save the ezpass document he used to save the page. now, it saves the page more creates a folder that contains images. I can't delete the folder without leaving the page. My mistake, it would be using Firefox.

    now in support of Firefox.

But to answer your question, HTML is a markup language that displays images files etc. Unlike a document of treatment of all the elements of the document included in a single file. HTML stores the items of the page as individual items. If a folder is created to hold these items such as images, files audio video flash etc..

Microsoft encouraged a MHTML file format they have invented and placed in Internet explorer, which is a single file of storage, but it is really only supported in Internet Explorer.

It seem not to be modules on the site of the add-on to enable MHTML in firefox such as

    https://addons.Mozilla.org/firefox/addon/Mozilla-archive-format/?src=search

    https://addons.Mozilla.org/firefox/addon/UnMHT/?src=search

If you have had this feature before, perhaps you have already installed an add-on?

  • AppleScript - creat a folder, subfolders and fill it with the sample image

Please help me to achieve this goal, no doubt, simple goal.

I did only a very small amount of applescripting before and always slaughtered other scripts of resources available online but am having hard to identify ways to achieve this.

I would like to use applescript to automate the creation of a simple folder NewFolder and newSubFolders structure in a destination that the user can choose and the number of subfolders (subCount), selected using the command prompt:

subCount value to text returned of (display dialog "how subfolders?" by default of answer 85)

The NewFolder will always be in a format of date backwards for example 160202 for 2 February 2016.

The sub folder names end with 3 numeric characters, leading 0s to whole number less than 100:

    160202_001, 160202_002, 160202_003 etc etc.

With all these responses need the user to select an image file and duplicated it or should that be copied to all of the subfolders created by this script.

All I got so far is to create a script that creates the folder with subfolders structure, but does not work how do the names of the end of records with 3 numeric characters or find out how copy/duplicate a file for each subfolder created by the script.

    Here's my starting point:

the value JobName to text returned of (display dialog "Please enter Date reference:" default of '160411' response)

loc to choose a folder with guest "choose the Parent folder location:

    say application 'Finder '.

    targetFolder value to create a new folder in loc with properties {name: JobName}

    end say

    Repeat

subCount value to text returned of (display dialog "how subfolders?" by default of answer 85)

    Try

    If subCount ≠ "" then

    whole subCount

    output Repeat

    end if

    end try

    end Repeat

Repeat with I have from 1 to subCount

display the dialog box "my variable:"& I ".

    say application "Finder" to create a new folder to targetFolder with properties {name: JobName & "_" & I}

    end Repeat

filetoCopy to Choose file with prompt "choose the image file to be copied."

display the dialog box "my variable:" & filetoCopy ".

It does not really matter I order in which the script should occur, i.e. the image file to be copied can be selected first before the creation of the all the subfolders etc... as long as the end result is the same structure.

I had a look by adding leading 0s to a name of folder but don't really understand how I could do within the repetition that exists in my script.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Mike

Although this still needs a lot of storage (including the addition of error checking) I managed to get working folders creating and copying a file to the set of folders.

I'd appreciate it again any help in renaming with 000 leader after the _in, folder names.

    Here's where I'm up to:

loc to choose a folder with guest "choose the Parent folder location:

    say application 'Finder '.

    targetFolder value to create a new folder in loc with properties {name: JobName}

    end say

    Repeat

subCount value to text returned of (display dialog "how subfolders?" by default of answer 85)

    Try

    If subCount ≠ "" then

    whole subCount

    output Repeat

    end if

    end try

    end Repeat

Repeat with I have from 1 to subCount

    say application "Finder" to create a new folder to targetFolder with properties {name: JobName & "_" & I}

    end Repeat

    say application 'Finder '.

_destination to choose a folder with guest from "choose the main folder created above:

filetoCopy to Choose file with guest "choose image file copy:

display the dialog box "my variable:" & filetoCopy ".

the value _listOfDest to (each of _destination folder ) as alias list

Repeat with CurrentNumber from 1 to (count _listOfDest)

duplicate filetoCopy file to the file (article of _listOfDest CurrentNumber)
