Export as swf interactive book

Hi all, I found this topic (since 2010 or almost) somewhere on the forum but no answers, so I'll give it another chance...

I need to export a book to a swf that allows me to maintain some basic interactivity (links to pages) buttons and "turn the page" transition (not more than original, btw...).

Thus, it does not seem possible to do since the Panel book, an idea?

I thought that I could export each doc book to swf format, but then could merge all the SWF files to an integer (with Flash? I don't know...) ? It will make a mess between each last/first page of two documents, it doesn't?

Or maybe, I could merge all the docs indd one alone, but how?

Thanks for your support, guys!

You can drag and drop pages in the pages Panel. The Pages panel flyout vertical Page view value (so they don't come in as a substitute layouts), then select all the thumbnails page and drag them into the destination document. You will get a dialog box asking where to start the incoming pages.

  • Optimize the creation of large INDB exported as an interactive PDF

    I'm running into some problems of speed when creating an InDesign book that is exported as an interactive PDF.  This process is be script using JSX and running on a server of InDesign CC.  I tried various combinations of settings for interactivePDFExportPreferences, and which none does not seem to make a difference.  I don't think that it takes as long InDesign to create the book itself, most of the time is spent by exporting it as an interactive PDF.

    Some background information, a PDF page 'unique' for each page of the publication has already been created.  Most pages also took - what I call a superposition of hyperlink - another created INDD file containing rectangles with hyperlinks.  Each 'page PDF' is then imported into a new INDD and if there is a corresponding "hyperlink overlay" then it is duplicated on the top of the "single page PDF", then the result is recorded as a new INDD. The result is then an INDD for each page in the publication that will be used in the creation of the InDesign book.

    Now that we have an InDesign doc for each page we create an INDB script and that will be exported as an interactive PDF.  Here comes my question.  Someone has suggestions to optimize the creation of a book of InDesing that is exported as an interactive PDF?  The PDF file takes a little over half an hour to create just for a 80 page publication.  Some of our publications are 300 + pages, so the time it takes to create this size of a book and export to PDF is unacceptable.

    I would also like to note that the interactive PDF file that has been exported from InDesign book will be used with 3D issue online.  Added hyperlinks - hence the need for the interactive PDF - link ads/announcements in our publication on the 3D issue to the respective pieces of the inventory on our Web sites.

    Another solution, I'm currently entertaining is thread creation of the InDesign book and splitting it up which would result in several small interactive PDF which then I would write something to combine them into a single PDF file.

    with ( app.interactivePDFExportPreferences )
    {
        exportLayers = false;
        exportReaderSpreads = false;
        flipPages = false;
        generateThumbnails = false;
        includeStructure = false;
        interactivePDFInteractiveElementsOption = InteractivePDFInteractiveElementsOptions.INCLUDE_ALL_MEDIA; //APPEARANCE_ONLY
        pageRange = PageRange.ALL_PAGES;
        pageTransitionOverride = PageTransitionOverrideOptions.NONE; //FROM_DOCUMENT;
        pdfJPEGQuality = PDFJPEGQualityOptions.HIGH;
        pdfMagnification = PdfMagnificationOptions.DEFAULT_VALUE;
        pdfPageLayout = PageLayoutOptions.SINGLE_PAGE_CONTINUOUS; //SINGLE_PAGE; //DEFAULT_VALUE;
        pdfRasterCompression = PDFRasterCompressionOptions.JPEG_COMPRESSION; //AUTOMATIC_COMPRESSION (same time using auto, but resulting file is 2x the size)
        rasterResolution = 192; // No time diff between 144 or 192 DPI but there was a noticeable quality diff
    }

    Thanks for the reply.  I agree, the script itself is not the issue.  I was hoping that someone out there knew a small export/parameter preferably that would help me.  I know that the quality of some graphics or even PDF files would reduce the time it takes.  Reduce the quality of the graphics and the PDF output have been attempted.  However, 3D issue allows Zoom and when the output quality was reduced and a user zooms in it looks pretty bad.  Also, it doesn't give me enough compromise time/quality to justify reducing the quality.

    However, I have found another solution.  PDFsharp is a great open source solution.  Instead of creating all INDDs using InDesign, create an INDB and export to a PDF file.  I can now create PDF files in the first place and use .NET and the PDFsharp library to combine all of the PDF files in a single PDF file.  This is a lot faster and without any sacrifice of quality!  I wish I would have looked into this type of solution before you spend hours trying to find a way to optimize the creation of the INDB.

  • How often to IND export to SWF?

    Hello

    I created a catalog in InDesign CC. I exported the few pages as swf files. I also have a software flipping book where I'm just importing registered in the form of pages in 3D: jpeg, png, or swf, then I create the 3D effect. I have to use swf files as each page contains links.

    Down, this is what my project: swf https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3794714/3DBookPremiumProduction/3dbook_no_media_icons.

    First 7 pages are exported as a swf from InDesign, the rest are images.

    Any valuable input will be appreciated.

    Sebastian

    It seems to me that animation exported the swf page flip of ID is colliding with the animation of the flip book software.

    You can export InDesign pages in JPEG format and import images rather than sovereign wealth funds. If do not want to import the pixels, you can export the pages ID like FLAS. FLAS does not include animations in page flip, so you could open the pages in Flashpromanager.new and save them as static SWFs.

    To export a page as a FLA, you will need to disable facing pages, otherwise you get a spread.

  • How to use DPS as Folio overlays when you export to SWF format?

    I create an interactive magazine in InDesign, it is decided that the magazine is exported to SWF format and downloaded on the website of our company for viewing by the public. I want things like blocks of text scrolling and slideshows. I knew InDesign had an update to include DPS features such as overlays in Folio, so I applied a superposition of slideshow and a floating frame, but none of them is not working after that I exported to SWF format. I always want to have slideshows and scrolling frames how can I have them again when you export to SWF format?

    Features DPS are only for DPS. SWF is about as dead as dead can be at this point.

    If you want to use some of these types of features on the web, I suggest to look in in5 by ajar Productions. http://ajarproductions.com/pages/products/IN5/?ref=footer

  • How to export my yahoo address book in outlook express 6? Microsoft opens with cannot open a... .csv file

    I need to export my Yahoo address book to Outlook Express 6. When I try, a window appears saying I want to find or save this file? I click on search and then my page redirects to Microsoft says I have a csv file and no way to open it.

    Hi sntuld,

    -What, exactly, is a transcript of the error message that you receive?

    You must save the .csv (contacts file) of the Yahoo address book file, and then import the file into Outlook Express.

    If you are looking for the recorded .csv file, use the search function and check if you can find the file.

  • export to .swf

    Hi all

    I created a file Indesign incorporates images and when I export to .swf images are blurry... regardless of the type of image or size in the original Indesign document. No idea why?

    Thank you!

    The 2 factors that will control the image quality when you export .swf are presentation size and resolution. These factors are determined at the point of export and replace the size of your Indesign document and the effective resolution of the placed images.

  • When I change the main mxml file in the project and then export the swf file does not change, why?

    I have an existing project, years ago that I need to change, I am using Flash Builder 4. When I export the project, it creates a SWF in bin-release, then when I change the code in the mxml project file or files of any format and export the swf file needs to change, but it's not. You have an idea why this might happen?

    Thank you

    I found the problem, there was a SWF into the html-template folder within the project. This has led to substitute the swf of the new generation.

  • Export to SWF format, keeping the same page formats

    Hello

    I have a document InDesign, CS5, with different pages. They are all double spreads of A4 except for two pages. One is A4 portrait on its own and landscape.

    When I export to swf format, these pages turn into double page spreads, which means that I end up having what looks like a blank page next to my single page.

    Is it possible to keep different page sizes when exporting to SWF format?

    Thanks in advance,

    ZoeByDesign

    Not West not. InDesign exports your SWF using the size of the largest spreading in your document. Small gaps or pages will be exported to that as well size, filled with extra white space...

    I suggest you change the size of these unique pages on the size of the other "spreads" (portrait A4 > A3 landscape) and fill the empty space you want in InDesign rather than let the SWF exporter to use white color. If you want it to look like it s single page, fill empty space with the same color, you as the background for your html-wrapper file.

    Check this sample (cover page is actually a gap, but the left side is full of gray that was used as the background):

  • Problem with export to swf format...

    So, I've been putting togeather a book to SWF format.  I created several SWF files on the way to test it, make sure it is working properly. Pages have always appeared in the window next door... for example, the title page is the only one, but then the 1-2 page are togeather in the window, page 3-4 are togeather... ext. All of a sudden and no apparent change that I made that I'm aware, it now exports documents to only show only one page at a time.  I have InDesign CS5.  I need to know how to repair the spread so that the pages are side by side. I checked in the layout, and you click the option side by side.  In earlier versions of InDesign, there was a setting of 'spread' which you could do when exporting, but CS5 does not have this option.  What I did for the taking of this, and how to fix it?  I hope that one of you has ideas.

    Update: I realized that even the preview in InDesign is a single page, rather than face pages, so... there is certainly a setting that has been changed.  Under the pages tab, it always shows the layouts in the form of two pages, and facing pages is enabled in the settings of document, this WHO I MISS so much?

    Have you checked the settings menu in the pages Panel? I don't remember setting it how disable spreads, but check it out anyway. Usually for export spreads there is a checkbox in the export options when you save the file. It can also be a matter of preference, the preferences file may be corrupt. (guessing)

  • After exporting my SWF!

    Hello

    I have spent a lot of time designing my interactive flash brochure that I want to be able to email people a link that they can click on and in turn will lead to my web page with brochure in that they can read.

    The problem is that I have now the html file and the swf file but I don't know what to do with them. I also have a Web site configuration (think I didn'y build) and remote access to it. Someone can tell me what I'm doing with this file and how can I configure this brochure as e-brochure online that I can link to.

    Thank you very much

    Gus

    West essentially 3 steps:

    (1) export SWF

    -check generate the html code of the export SWF dialog box

    -you will have 2 files: 1 SWF and HTML 1

    -for example myBrochure.html and myBrochure.swf

    (2) upload files to your server

    -use any normal transfer method, such as FTP client

    -the two export - myBrochure.html and myBrochure.swf files

    (3) distribute the link to your customers

    -If you have downloaded your files in your folder root of server´s's link to send http://www.mywebadress.com/myBrochure.html
