Export of parameters (Premiere Pro CS4 with Matrox)

Premiere Pro CS4

Canon XHG1 camera (HDV/Mini-DV/NTSC)

Card Matrox RT. X 2

HP's Z800 with Intel Xeon 2.4 GHz, 12 GB of RAM and running Windows 7

I have experience with digital video editing in first, export up to 40 minutes the videos (which took maybe 2 hours for export), but the last version I used was perhaps first 7 and I didn't have the Matrox card (and used a much less powerful than this computer). I used as just a level of consumption, not the big Canon camera. Now, I try to export the video and there are more choices that I had before, and it seems that the time estimated to export is quite high, despite a good machine and the Matrox card.

So my question is, is there anywhere a chart that shows what settings to use for the particular output you are looking for? For example, what should I choose for the web that's enough quality but not a giant file? What should I choose if I want to make a DVD? Is it possible to export directly to a DVD, if you do not manipulate the video at all? I said, I should be able to use the Matrox card to reduce the time to export, but it seems that at least 5 times the length of the video export anything.

I guess a question important here is: what is the normal amount of time I should expect something to take to the export? I have a 2 hour video that just needs to be transferred from mini DV tapes and engraved on a DVD - no necessary effect. Time to export the lowest estimate I can get is about 10 hours, and I don't know what that looks like in terms of quality when finished.

In the future I'll do more often in short (2 minutes or less) video for the web, so time for export should be short, but I would still like to know what are the best settings and how much time it should take.

I hope this makes sense - thanks for your help!

The major bottleneck appears indeed disk I/O.Even if you have two physical disks in the system, Win7 consider them as a single disc, because they are attacked as a raid1. For performance optimal disc I suggest you to add at least two physical disks + 7200 RPM (so SAS or SATA, the latter cheaper, the first with a best performance), move the pagefile and projects and the cache of media in one of the discs and the other disk media. Which will improve your results significantly in my opinion.

Then have a look at the two latest guides here, storage and tuning: How to get the best from a PC? Some guides...

The setting guide was written for Vista, but the Blackviper site now also has a guide for Win7 services.

I hope this helps.

Hello people on the Adobe Forums,.

I hope someone can help me with this issue, it has been bothering me a very long time now and this week I have to make a decision, or solve the problem and keep this configuration, or spend the money for a new processor (i5 750) and a new motherboard. But I think that this computer must do better, then he doesn't. I have the following configuration:

So I don't understand the problem, first is very slow on my computer... Rendering of a piece of 5 min of just a film randomly takes like 3 hours! Just now, I found some things that I shot with my cell phone, it like 10 sec 1 frame! On most pc with this vice versa!

    Marinus,

My compliments on the way in which you have documented your problem! Very, very good. I wish that more people would take your example.

Unfortunately, as you can see from the results PPBM4, your PC is a serious lack power. About 80 times slower than the top ensuring an and more specifically on the MPEG encoding. This means that, with your XDCAM, your machine hardware fights like h * l to get anything it to be delivered. Even with SD AVI material, it would be a struggle with these specifications.

The only solution I see is to get a new machine. To get a rough hint of what you face. Watch Adobe Forums: how to build PC? and realize that the version of the budget is the minimum for DV and HDV, possibly material from XDCAM-EX, but for AVCHD and DSLR equipment you would not drop below the economic model. In addition, if you go to the hyarware forum and press the "View" tab at the top of the page, there a dropdown menu with several items that might interest you. http://forums.Adobe.com/community/premiere/hardware_forum?view=discussions&start=0

BTW, on your new system you want to clean. With all the running processes, it adds to the burden and you could do with much less overhead.

  • Premiere Pro CS4 SDK - exporter plugin

    Premiere Pro CS4 SDK

    Hello
I ran the sample exporter SDK CS4 project and it never seems to join the case "exSelExport" the plugin's main entry. Instead, after clicking on "OK" in the window of the exporter, first pro cs4 selector returns = 14 and after nothing happens (because there is no place of 14) host selector gives 8 (EndInstance). After that, Adobe Media Encoder queue is started. That seems like a flaw for me since I am not able to handle the export as I want (in my case, I want to use 3rd party exporter for images, news, audio/video, etc.) in the case of exSelExport. Is it a typical workflow for Pr CS4 pass the straight Media Encoder compression/rendering? Under what circumstances can I enter exSelExport when I'm ready to export a clip? I use Pr Pro CS4 4.0.0.

    Hey Petro,

In CS4, the only export is through Media Encoder.  So, you will need install your exporter in a place where the two Premiere Pro and Media Encoder will load it.  The MediaCore folder is the recommended location, which Vista32 on CS4 will be something like:

    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\CS4\MediaCore

For more information, see Installation of plug-ins on page 32 of the CS5 SDK Guide.

    Kind regards

  • Premiere Pro CS4 dynamic link to Encore CS4

I transferred a still CS4 Premiere Pro CS4 project via dynamic link.  I tried to play the scenario but only the sound plays video remains still each time that the marker is placed on the timeline, but the marker moves.

Can anyone suggest what is the problem?

    Stephen Terry

I do not understand: the marker moves?

I leave Dynamic Link out of the picture.

Export of first with a "Preset" mpeg2-dvd. You can change the speed of transmission a little upward.

Import these two files (audio and video) in again.

  • Adobe Dynamic Link won't work - Premiere Pro CS4 to After Effects CS4

    Hello

I edited a video with a date limit, I am importing a sequence of Premiere Pro CS4 to After Effects and changes in After Effects. I'm able to import the sequence of Premiere Pro in After Effects using Dynamic Link, but I'll go back to Premiere Pro and nothing has changed. I then export the minute 21 long video in After Effects and which takes about 12 hours, I can't afford. I don't know what I am doing wrong, until I imported to the AE timeline, while I was in Premiere Pro I right click it and select - original Edit. He took me to the .mov that I imported - since it is a roll forward. I learned how to use dynamic links to this tutorial-

    http://TV.Adobe.com/watch/learn-CS4-production-premium/using-dynamic-link/

Initially when the dynamic link didn't work I thought it was because I cut the sequence imported Premiere Pro into After Effects because I was followed by movement. When you import a sequence Premier Pro can cut you it into different layers in After Effects?

I import a sequence of Premiere Pro CS4 to After Effects

That does not create the type of link you want here.  In this case, changes to the PP would be present in AE.  You want the opposite.  (And you can only go one way, not both).

    Mathieu,

I can't answer for first, but if you have, you can use your file avi, and flash flv export file.

Still includes templates for use with your file menu flash and different sizes of flash export dimensions

Depending on the size you want your final file and to be.

Create a folder with everything for you, including the index.html file and all you have to do is transfer the file

your directory of Web sites and the hyperlink. Voila!

Sorry, I can't point to specific tutorials for the moment.

  • Premiere Pro CS4 - audio not listed is not in the queue of Media Encoder

    Hey all,.

The title says it all. I have two audio files from Premiere Pro CS4 both with the extension WAV. When I go to them for export as a media, Media Encoder does not seem to take it to the top and the queue window remains empty.  I had no problem with video files, but this is my first time needing to encode audio files strictly.

Is there a trick?  I need to encode to MP3 or WAV. Any ideas?

    Thanks for the tips.

    Ok.

Couple of notes.  A re-export off Soundbooth as .wav files, .mp3 is not.  Two, you do not mention the details of any sequence could have created and been working in.

  • Adobe Media Encoder to Premiere Pro CS4 stops working on the same frame every time...

Currently, I have Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 and have never had these problems before export. My calendar is less than 3 minutes long, but it deals with several large files. He made perfectly and it plays perfectly in the timeline. When I try to export using Media Encoder, however, it freezes at the same frame every time (which is actually a few seconds in!) then exit breaks down, while I force. I tried to export as many different codecs and the problem persists... same frame. I tried to create a new project from scratch and whisk a few titles and export that to see if it's just export anything. The new project exported very well, however, which I suppose is good news. But yes, my work on this project is very important for me and I reallllly want to export it. Help, please!

What are the details of the alleged audio file?

  • Premiere Pro CS4 video fills the whole frame.

My Windows Movie Maker has stopped working so I bought it and I regret it completely. WMM is so simple and straightforward. I don't want a software that takes a genius to use. Even I could design a better software.

In any case, for some reason when I import a video on my project it fills the screen. It is black boarder thick around her. I did research it and I saw a lot of things on the elongation or something like that. But I'm not a computer genius and adobe is expected of course as everyone else so I was wondering if someone could help me. Thank you.

Heres a pic so it can help.

    [IMG] http://I54.Tinypic.com/jpvjhx.jpg [line]

    Welcome to the forum.

When its assets are either zoom-in, or have black bands around them, in the timeline, it is usually because the predefined sequence/project does not have the 100% source footage.

In CS4, when you create a new project, they will set some preferences global and then invited to create a new sequence (chronology). It is here that we will need to know the full specs. their source files, and then select a predefined sequence to match these assets 100%. There are many Presets and then one 'special', the desktop Preset. What makes this 'special', is that you can set almost all the parameters for costume/game, such as the size of the image (this is where you are off), FPS, etc.

If you can tell us the complete specifications. of your source footage, anyone can tell you exactly what Preset to choose, or how to customize the desktop Preset to match. That will fill your frame perfectly.

PrPro from CS4 has the ability to have different sequences for different sequences, in the same project.

Now, WMM is well enough designed to deal with standard WMV images, is very limited on the one hand, but on the other hand, simple to use - many, many fewer choices to make. It's 'standard', or nothing.

When you have explored the power of PrPro and get used to the implementation of your footage, you will come to love him. The 'power' is intoxicating, and operations will become second nature.

I highly recommend a great book, Adobe Classroom in a Book for Adobe Premiere Pro CS4, Adobe Press. The author you will return you though first the concept of using a NLE (of Non-linear editing), then give you a tour of GUI (Graphical User Interface) program. Then, although the use of resources and projects, you will return the reader through all aspects of the process of with PrPro CS4 edition. When you are finished, there will be very little, that you will not have been exposed to. Curt spends a good part of the time by saying the drive all on the 'why' and not only the "how".

PrPro-Wiki has a great FAQ section on how to do most of the things in CS4 and should be bookmarked.

Believe me, the operation will change from 'rocket science' to 'second nature '.

  • Sync during compression HD FLV and F4V in Premiere Pro CS4

Hello.  I am trying to create messages of public interest for You Tube initially created with a small device that produces Quicktime HD files.  For YouTube they do not have to be perfect, but that's what I'm working with.  My computer has only 4 GB of ram so I can't watch the video to test synchronization because it gives just a slide show when editing.  He never does anything, but a slide show with HD video.

When I watch the original unedited Quicktime file synchronization was distant.  When I visited the original file in FLV and F4V formats, just to test the synchronization it is PERFECT.  Then I edited the first video from this session and FLV used and the timing was PERFECT.  So I do the second video synchronization, tested on the original film and its PERFECT.

So I thought it was okay to continue.  Everything was perfect after that first made the raw images. The first video worked, right? Synchronization of the raw images of the second video has been fixed, right?

Now that I spent all the time to edit the 2nd video, sync is TERRIBLE.  I have no idea why.  F4V was worse than FLV, but none are ideal for 2 video.  So I guess I have two questions:

    (1) what format should I use to upload to YouTube which does not give me a unusable timing problem

    (2) is there something I can do to see continuous synchronization in Premiere Pro CS4 without updating my equipment?  I use Vista 64 bit, 4 GB of ram, dual-core intel.  What I have to do a significant hardware upgrade just to get HD video do not make a slideshow during first execution?

    Thank you!

AVI file to the private mssg link... 1 gigabyte, takes about 30 min to DL - look and tell me if synchronization is better or worse you know... or the same thing... without you looking at this file and checking against your own there would be no way of KNOWING what (compared to what you met).

IF THE AVI IS BETTER... What are the steps

project settings and description of the measures shown below...

CineForm (neoscene) can handle that sort of thing of conversion, but I do not have this program... most of this will be explicit from the images...

Here's the info from mediainfo avi export

below is the description of steps

    -------------

    easyShare measures taken

his program (I used soundforge) allows re - sample 16 kHz sound for wav file (wav pcm) to 48 kHz and 32 bit floating point.

record in stereo or mono (stereo may turn into 2 mono channels when they are imported in preview)

Import original mov file to the new project, untie her, remove its import wav and put on wav chronology... link to the video.  I increased the volume on an audio file with conversion just for my own satisfaction... you can do what you want the audio file also (re: filters etc)

The file size will be HUGE... as you're now away from the advanced mpeg 4 HIGHLY compressed format of your original footage...

However, it is OK to HAVE BYTES COUNT FILE AT THIS POINT HUGE...

You can then IMPORT the AVI file that you exported in first for your mounting--(je commencerais nouveau projet pour cela) with very little "loss" of original quality - most of the humans would be able to tell any difference between the quality of the original and this AVI file... (I can't).

After you change the avi file or files to export as flash or anything else you want...

    ---------------------

  • AVI file won't play in Premiere Pro CS4

I wonder if someone can show me a simple solution to this problem.

I did an AVI movie with my Canon Powershot A2100 640 x 480 to 88 kbps and 769MB. After a tutorial of Project http://tv.adobe.com/watch/learn-premiere-pro-cs4/getting-started-02-setting-up-your-first-/ (and more) I can't my video to play. The games sound but the video portion is not... It does not correctly play with Windows Media Player

As a separate trial, I ran my video using Adobe Media Encoder CS4 export to another AVI file and this file will play in Premier Pro. The only difference is that I exported it without the audio.

Any thoughts?   My goal is to change the sound and hopefully reduce the size of the file so that it will be able to my site web watch.

    Thank you for your time
