Export of photos between catalogs

Hi, how do I export photos in a catalog in a different catalog?

Thanks for your help.

In the library module, select the photos you want to export.

Go to the menu/File/export in the catalog.

Remember the path and the name for later use.

If you want to be imported into an existing catalog,

Open the catalog in Lightroom,

Then go into the menu/file/import the catalog.

Select the small catalog that you previously exported.

  • sharing photo between catalogs

I created several catalogs to separate my pictures between family, hobby, business etc... However, I believe I can get a photo that fits 2 or multiple catalogs. But when I opened my family catalog I don't see pictures of the hobby for example catalogue.  How to share a photo between the 2 catalogues without copying the photo?

No need to COPY anything. As stated in the post above "import" the same images you want in different catalogs by selecting 'Add' in the import dialog. In this way the images remain where they are and are only ADDED to a catalog database file.

  • 5 Mac LR LR 'loses' all photos and catalogs

LR 5.  On Mac when only I tried to export a catalog newly created on the HARD disk, Dropbox 'lost' all my photos in the library.  When I restarted LR starts very slowly and at its inauguration is seen no photos, no catalogs exist.  Along the way, I tried in vain to create a new folder in Dropbox in which I was going to the catalog to export. I'm dead in the water and don't know what to do.  I backed up with time machine.  Any help is appreciated as I do not have access to phone support and live in a small town without technical support.

    Hi Taoseno,

Suggest you go to the file menu > select open recent element and check if the you are able to access the catalogue that contains all the changes.

Or, you can search on your machines .lrcat files and check if it causes the required catalog as catalog export does not cause the images to be deleted.

    Kind regards

  • When I export a photo from lightroom, the image is very pixelated.

When I export a photo from lightroom, the image is very pixelated. This Burr occurs regardless of whether I do adjustments in Lightroom.  It seems that place just the photo in it develop modual without doing anything to it taints the image in such a way that when it is exported from the modual develop the export pixelated fate.

There is a radical difference between these two images. Incredibly, export of Lightroom has been shrunk down so it has fewer pixels. This means that if you try to display them on a similar screen size, you will need to expand by zoom. Really just, which increases the size of the pixels, so pixilization. He looks exactly like its original size. I think you should just turn off the Image resizing option (uncheck the Resize to fit) in your export settings to get the quality you are looking for.

  • My photos and videos are not in chronological order, when I export the Photos app

Hello. When I export my photos and videos from the Photos app on my iMac all the photos and videos are not in order. I need all the photos in good standing - I need to export about 5 000 pictures of the application in order for a meeting next week! Help, please!

    Ethan.

This is not photo - it is a function of the viewing program (probably the finder) - once the photos are exprted form pictures you can see then in different ways which you control, Photos does not - by the finder you can view by name of son, byt several dates, by file size, etc.

Usually, the best way to accomplish what you want is to export using the names of batch file numbeing and then sort by file name in the program viewing

  • Cannot export the Photo of Mail for Photos

Honestly, guys. This should not be difficult.

What version of Photos do you use?

What should work is ctrl-click or just lick or double tap incorporated photo by post, then use 'Export of Photos' in the context menu that appears.  You'll be the Photos icon bouncing in the Dock to show that the picture was added.

Look at the bottom of the album 'All the Photos' for the imported image. It will not display in "last import.

  • If I exported my photos when I import them into another library of Photos, will they still be live photos?

I plan to export my entire library of Photos on a hard drive, that I will then use import my library to another library of Photos on another computer (with the latest updates). When I export my photos (choosing File > export > export Photos X...), they will still be "live pictures" that is when I import them will be powered?

For sure if you simply move a copy of the entire library to the new system, you will have all - export and import loses a lot of information and can lose quality if you're wrong - interconnect systems and drag the library photos of the current system to the new system images folder - or use an external hard drive to the Mac OS extended (journaled) format to move in all

  • If the Photos are not Visible after their exportation from Photos for Mac

Export of Photos may write JPGs invisible on the disc, if the photos are exported with the option ' file name: use the title.

If the first affected user a title to the picture, the deleted the title text, photography will have an empty title and the exported photos will be simply named ".jpg" and treated as invisible system files.  This bug can fill the disk with lots of image files, which are not visible in the Finder, unless the hidden files are made visible.

User bikedaveca reported this bug today:

See discussion: exported photos do not appear in the Finder

More in this tip of the user:

Bug: export of Images with "file name: U title" exports the files as Invisible, if the title has been deleted

As a precaution, keep at least one printable character in the title field, when when you remove a title from a photo, so you can see, she had a given title.

As a test, import three new pictures, for example:

The first has a title, the other had a title, but removed, the third one never had a title and watch "Untitled."

When I select and export them with ' file name: use Title ", only two photos will be displayed in the Finder.

The problem is, that deleting a title does not remove the title, but adds an empty title. If the photos are exported with the filename ".jpg".

I exported the photos in a folder with the photos sequentially named. Now I want to export more photos in the same folder, but take the sequential numbers where the last export was stopped. So if the last photo was named Apr_409, I want the following to be Apr_410. Not Apr_1 (1). Any advice? Thank you!

Hat is not a feature of Photos.

If you want to make sure your new export is sorted after previous export, change the field "sequential prefix" in the Panel of the export to a string, which will be sorted after the original prefix you have chosen.

  • naming and export a photo

I El Capitan and am only accustomed to the use of iPhoto.

First of all, I don't like.

A 2007 "answer" to a similar question by another included stuff like that.

'1 the name Version for 'Master Filename' drop.

    2. open the Inspector of the metadata - a preset which will display the Version name. »

Never heard of these Master, or Version designations.  OK, so I look/click/Open all the tabs but can not see one of these words.

Back to my problem (in real English): when I have finished editing a photo that I dragged in 'Photos' [and BTW, why appoint an application something like 'Photos' (when it looks so much like a word - like pictures - that you can use in a question?)] ...  I then choose to export the new version on my desktop.  I have a drop down menu to choose the format and only three options for the use of their title, filename, or sequential mode.

I click on 'EXPORT', and a menu down to where I want to export the photo.  I chose the office.  There is no room to give me a name to the picture.

I decide to go forward; I find the photo on my desk which gives him name pictures.

But after clicking 'EXPORT' (new) there is no picture on my desk.  If I knew what the name was, I could just it search by name and my Mac could help me to find it.   Just so you don't get not technical all that is something I learned to do on a MacMini 2008 without any search on the web for instructions, it would be useful that you could just tell how to name this photo of my own choice.  How strange is that?

    Bad luck.

    a few things

If you don't like iPhoto, why do you use? It is completely optional

You can not 'name' photos in iPhoto - you can give them a title and a description

As for export, it's simple - select the photo and export (menu, file == > export) - there are many options when exporting - see this user exporting from iPhoto - including one for trick use the title as file name

As for your tip 2007 - you understand that it's more than nine 9 years - I don't know what it is, or what is his intention, but you told about it does not apply to all versions of iPhoto

You use iPhoto ro Photos? You say both of them, so I don't know - but the answer for the pictures, it is the same (except that you may need to open the export options to see them all - if you use the pictures and do not have the options then clikc on the v of the thr right of JPEG to open the full set of options)

and the rest of your post makes no sense at all - I'm not sure if this is the part of your question or just hiking

If you need more help read this user tip on a responsible question - wrote a matter of Apple Support effective communities - a hint of base - no editorials and clearly a question and include the details of what you have and not long of foreign things like 9 years older stations which have no applicability to the question

  • How to move photos between albums of physically?

IOS9.3 has the ability to physically move photos between albums or is it still all pointers right back to a file master photo?

It is always fair to pointers back to the original - so if you remove the original photo, it is also removed albums you "copied" in

  • How can I merge albums / move photos between albums photos?

I upgraded Mavericks in El Capitan and therefore iPhotos to Photos. In Photos, my iPhotos events are all stored in an album named iPhoto events. In iPhotos I could merge the events and move individual pictures between events. How do I do this in Photos? Thank you

. In Photos, my iPhotos events are all stored in an album named iPhoto events.

It should have a folder named "iPhoto events" created, with a separate album for each of your previous iPhoto events. Is this not happen?

Photos does not have events, but the moments that are created automatically, and you cannot move photos between moments.

If you want to have an album for each of the imported pictures, select all the new photos in the album "last import. Then press the ⌘N key combination to create a new album from selected photos. If you reveal the sidebar with ⌥⌘S, you can easily drag albums between folders and add photos to an album to a different album by dragging photos to the album in the sidebar.

  • After you export a photo library of backup, how to delete the photos in the photo library of the system

Hi, I use the pictures 1.2

Each year, I export my library on a backup drive and give it the name of the given year. My next task was to remove unwanted pictures (about 10 K photos) from that same year, then keep those 'important' for me (stuff of family, work and other landscapes and al. stuff: about 2 000 pictures.) I don't remember how I used to do with iPhotos, but it seemed obvious. Now, with Photos, I see only two choices: either watch the complete list of the photos, then click on those that I don't have anymore (I do not see me scroll 12 000 photos and videos) opening of the events at the time and the option click all photos to delete (and not just remove them from the event).

Deleting events without opening it won't because I get a message telling me (for good or bad reasons) that the photos are always going to be there. But then, imagine that I could remove the same with content pictures, I have about 300 events to remove, and they can be deleted one at a time.

So my question is (and I already put it as a feature request to apple, just in case) how I mass delete unwanted items and their photos, or better yet, how can we keep all the photos that I like (Favorites, for example, or photos with celebrities...) and delete the rest?

My library contains more than 200 GB on my MacBook Pro 500 GB HDD. I can't let it grow to 150 GB each year. and I guess I'm not the only one with this problem. In addition, I travel a lot in many countries with bad Internet connections, so I won't use iCloud.

    Thank you!

How are 'export' your photo of the backup library?  You create a copy of your current photo on the backup disk library or using "file > export" to export the photos? Just to be sure, that your photos are safe.

My next task was to remove unwanted pictures (about 10 K photos) from that same year, then keep those 'important' for me (stuff of family, work and other landscapes and al. stuff: about 2 000 pictures.) I don't remember how I used to do with iPhotos, but it seemed obvious.

You can quickly find the photos to delete by creating a smart album with the rule "the Photo is not favorite" and "Date is in the range...". »

    File > new Smart Album:

You can add a rule "keyword is not 5 stars", if you have added the side star as well.

Then, select a range of photos in this smart album and enter the ⌘⌫ (command + delete) key combination.

This will completely clear photos of the library.

You can use the same combination of keys to remove the photos from iPhoto event albums in the Album section.  If you simply enter the delete key, the photo will be deleted only from the album, but remain in the library.
