Export of the LR5 to specific dimensions

Export in LR5 for a photo contest.  Indicated Requiremnts are "high resolution JPEG at 300 dpi, not larger than 8 x 12 inches.  Just do not know what settings to use in the LR5/cc to meet these specifications.  There is no "dpi".

I reason to assume that if I have put 300 ppi, which who will set the resolution and also to 'fix' the size of the magnification of the picture so he used get expanded beyond what would look good / be printable?  I imagine that images are 'judged' in JPEG format on a monitor and selections will then will be printed in a book Blurb in final print sizes.

Of course, I don't want no degradation of image quality and don't want images automatically enlarged to 8 x 12 inches.  Some of my pictures are square and do not change to 8 x 12.  A peak is also a small area of the original image and don't know if she's going to explode well at 8 x 12, so don't want that it is automatically expanded to 8 x 12 inches.  Shooting a D300 in raw if that matters.

This new and pretty clueless so apologize if I ask an obvious question.  Any help appreciated, but looking for recommendations made by the exact LR5 export settings I have to enter.  Thank you.

I guess you need to send to the digital photo contest and not a print.

In this case, I would say the problem is that the rules of the competition really don't make sense if they talk about DPI. DPI applies only to copies, not digital photos.

So, we could also assume that they will really you should produce a JPG file which is not bigger than 8 x 12 at 300PPI, in which case you would be:

(a) if the cropped picture is greater than 2400 x 3600, export the photo by clicking "Resize to fit" and then selecting the height and width as the ppi, 2400 x 3600 pixels and 300.

(b) if the cropped photo is less than 2400 x 3600, export the photo to uncheck "resize to fit.

I wonder about how someone has launched a photo contest would not know the difference between the PPP and the PPI. You can check with the administrator of the contest they were really talking ppi, just so that we can confirm that the assumptions that I use here are correct.

  • Help, please! How to record the exact changes of the LR5

    Good afternoon all,

I made several edits in the LR5 and I lose something along the way... that's what I did...

The image is edited in LR5 (exhibition, black, white, etc.)

The image is modified in Photoshop (place heal)... (copy with lightroom changes)

Changes made in Photoshop are saved to lightroom (not sure the savings method here?)

Produces final is exported from the LR5 to e-mail (sRGB /JPEG)

Blacks in the image look VERY different when sent from the Mac computer.  During playback on IPAD, laptop computer, mobile devices these images aren't exactly the same before being sent by e-mail.

    Any help much appreciated!

My guess is that you are exporting bad... you must select the sRGB color space in the Lightroom export dialog box.

But basically, the concept of "looks different somewhere else" may be caused by a gazillion things, including the settings and software on the computer where the e-mail is received.

    Hi Sarah!

I solved it! I had to use the original URL shorter links to create

functional hyperlinks or try to short the links using Google URL Shortener.

I don't know why it worked by doing this, but he did!

  • Export the LR5 Image size

I used LR a good amount and you have not run into this problem before.trying to export images for use in Wordpress (resolution 1620 x 720) and that I put the 'image size' parameters as 1620 x 720 and 'dimension', 'pixels' and 'resolution 300', she continues to their output to 960 x 720.

The original file size is 3264 x 2448 in JPEG format.

    Also, I use Lightroom 5.7.

Any thoughts on what keeps me out in my size?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Best,
    Glenn K.

You first need to crop the image to a lengthening of 1620 x 720 (or equivalently of 9 x 4), and then when you export with the 1620 x 720 size settings, you will get what you want.

  • Which format is the best export for the vinyl album covers

I recently thought get illustrator. A friend received recently, and he really likes her. But he has no idea how to use it at the moment.

I don't want to bite the bullet and do it until I know that I can export my work in the right format.

I would like to know what is the best format to export the work if it is for a vinyl album cover?

It is mainly the type of work that I do.

    Help, please!

    Thanks in advance.

Talk to the printer, it can give you specifications.

In General, save a print ready PDF from Illustrator does the work.

If you search Google for the vinyl album cover dimensions, you find many info and models to help you get started.

But talk of the printer is the best way to get the right information.

  • How to export on the desktop?

I can't find an option of office in "export to", there are three options, all to do with the files, but no option for export on the desktop

But I don't think it's different on the Mac. If you choose "specific folder" and then click on the button "choose" you should be able to locate the desktop in the Finder and choose it as your destination.

I am using datapump to export a schema (Meta_data only). However, I would like to be named after the date and time of export taken the dump file.

When I use the following command - the job runs perfectly.
    expdp system@*** dumpfile = expdp-'date' + %m %%d Y_ hour %M %s ".dmp logfile EXP_DP = directory = expdp-'date' + %m %%d Y_ hour %M %s".log SCHEMAS = MARTMGR CONTENT = METADATA_ONLY

However, I want to run the export using a parfile. But if use below parfile, I encounter the following errors.

    dumpfile = expdp-'date' + %m %%d Y_ hour %M %s "
    LOGFILE = MARTMGR.log

You can do this in a script

    setenv cur_date 'date' + %m %y %d "

    then, when you give parameters

    dumpfile = dumpfile_$ cur_date.dmp

  • Edited video is blurry export as the corresponding source, but looks great on the screen before export?

I shot 5 videos and clippled to create a second 50 reel short segments of each display. The video is for a HTML 5 integrate a Web site is a side size (235 x 162).

Everything looks great when you view the editable within the first composition (and I've tried this in After Effects as well), but when I go to export the video eventually blurred no matter if I match the source or play with the settings.

I'm guessing that something is happening due to the sourcing of several video files that are in the codecs and different packaging? If Yes, why would I be able to edit so cleanly (and go to the program), but cannot export to the same quality?

    • If it is the codec problem, what is the best format to convert all these if it exports to a HTML 5 video (if that last part the same questions)?
    • Does anyone have experience with the best settings for export .mp4 h.264 for web use? I want to get this little thing in the file size, but still of good quality.

Here is an overview of the imported videos I've been cut upward assuming its a problem with one of them (audio is not serious, we are not export):

    1. MPEG4, AVC, rate Variable, progressive
    2. Progressive QuickTime MPEG-4, AVC,.
    3. Progressive QuickTime MPEG-4, AVC,.
    4. MPEG-4, AVC, progressive Variable rate
    5. QuickTime MPEG-4, Sorenson 3, is not progressive but I don't see what it is

Should also help to work with dimensions that are multiples of 16. Try 240 x 160.

  • 6 - export of the Captivate library

    Hello

When I try to export all images of a project, only 1-2 gets exported to a folder. Is there an easy way to export all the library (images, audio, animations, etc.) to a specific folder? When I make changes to the images in Captivate I donot want to do one at the time of export. Also, I need to send the editable and any files editable as a package library of others. Thank you

    Hi again,

I could successfully this test at my end. Please make sure that you do not select the options in the category that you can see the image above and select only the files.

Also try the steps below and see if that helps. We re-create preferences such as corrupt preferences that could be. Practice your customizations on the workspace will be lost, but don't worry renames the Preferences folder and it will not remove so that we can return.

In order to recreate the preferences, follow these steps.

    • Save your project.
    • Close Captivate
    • [Windows 7: C:\Users\[user name] folder of Captivate 6 \Local\Adobe\Adobe \AppData (hidden folder)
    • Windows XP: Settings\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 6 record - [user name] C:\Documents and Settings\
    • Mac: /Users/ [user name] / Library/Preferences/Adobe Captivate 6 folder
    • Rename the folder 6 Captivate what either.
    • Launch Captivate and try to export again.

    I hope this helps!

    Thank you!

  • Crop tool: specific dimensions?

    Hello

Does anyone know if we can fix an image size (for example, 5 x 7 in.) when cropping in LT?

    Thank you!

    Gustavo

    Santa Fe, NM

You harvest for a report. You export a size. RAW files have no pixel of a few inches. inches of importance than printing when you need a certain number of pixels per inch (DPI) often (wrongly) refereed to as dpi. Set your ppi in export, then the size of the output image. So to print 5 X 7 inches at 300 dpi (normal resolution for printing) crop you according to a fixed ratio of 5 X 7 the ppi to 300 and set the dimensions 1500 x 2100 pixels (or just more long side 2100). You can do all this in the print module by putting the ppi that you want and LR will migrate or down in size according to the needs and then send directly to a printer connected to the computer, or in jpg format to send to a printing service. The print module has many other options, if you make an impression and is better than just using export, especially if you want to print a picture on a paper with borders rather than cropping size.

  • How to make a dvd with an audio track after export using the media encoder? I have 2 separate files?

    Hello

I just burn a video that I have completed. It's a m2v file and so I have a point of view audio AC3 and a video track. I thought I was ready to go, but I can't understand how to burn audio and video on the same disk. It's very embarrassing because the settings I should use for export to keep video quality will give me 2 separate files.

So, what programs you use or recommend I would like to add an audio track? I don't want people to have the ability to switch between tracks, I just want a normal life trace that you have when you watch a movie, I mean he's playing just by default.

    Thanks to the adv.

    Mark

Again is Adobe for DVD software, although there are others.  In General, the export of the elementary streams for use in an authoring application is the preferred method, then you are doing things.

Specific help again, I would do you for the help file again.  If you decide to use another application, its own set of instructions will guide you.
