Export to SVG: Textpath beginning offset questions...

Simple example:

I draw a horizontal line of 1000px in illustrator CS5, put a text on the path and drag the 250px starting point.

Illustrator translated the "startOffset" - attribute of the node text something about 32% rather than the planned 25%.

Also, and as expected, when displaying SVG in Firefox or any browser that support the position of the text is not the same as in illustrator.

Anyone know the reason for this behavior or if it's a bug? Otherwise, there is workaround to get the text correctly positioned in the SVG?

Thank you very much for your help!

Best regards

Sam

    HI cspaidal09,

Please check if Snap to grid of pixels is checked in the transform Panel, if it is please, uncheck the box that, try to select the option of the use of work plans while you save your file to the .svg format and see if that solves the problem for you.

If that is not the problem try changing the decimal to a higher side.

Please let us know if this helps

  • How can I export to PDF for printing Offset, including colors and grayscale of the photo?

After reading dozens of forum, I not yet found the answer.

I made a photo album with full-colur and b & w photos for Offset print. I want to be for the b & w grayscale avoid the hues of colors possible. It seems that InDesign does not support the shades of gray, how images become dark. Even with export without any conversion of color or the destination and/or including profiles of original colors, the images are exported to obscurity as a PDF to grayscale.

How can I export to PDF for printing Offset, including colors and grayscale of the photo?

Yes, Photoshop & ID CMYK working spaces are the same

This can become difficult because 3 programs manage proofing differently.

Work spaces don't matter, document profiles that handle the preview. So here's the same image in grayscale, placed in the ID on the top and PS on the bottom. I put my info in Photoshop to display the profile of doc in the lower left corner. I can see the profile of my InDesign CMYK Document in my test format (CMYK work is different and is not used). The two profiles are actually the same coated FOGRA39 (Black Ink FOGRA in the case of the PS).

But the previews do not match because I disabled, so the preview InDesign is Gamma 2.2 or a "screen" media preview overprinting.

If I turn on overprint preview, I get a match because I'm soft proofing for printing:

After the installation of Illustrator CC (2015) updated earlier today, I have questions, saving a file .ai with several worktops in .svg.

Another user on another machine which has not installed the update is seen any of the same problems and is able to export the desired .svg files.

    The procedure is the following:

Has anyone encountered a similar problem?

Or this look like something that could be linked to enforcement on my end?

    rorkjopa,

There seems to be some unresolved problems with CC 2015, not least with SVG, reported several times already. You can roll back to CC, 2014, if you uninstalled can reinstall CC 2014 tab previous versions in the CC management application.

You can uninstall 2015 for now if you wish.

  • InDesign and export of .svg images

Y at - it a plugin or otherwise allowing InDesign export .svg images?

My documentation tool accepts only the vector images in .svg format and all my illustrations are made in InDesign (because it's a heck of a lot easier to use than Illustrator).

Currently, my workflow is kind of ridiculous!

Since InDesign - export the illustration in PDF format

Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat - crop the image to a specific size, save as a new PDF (because save a cropped picture of InDesign seems to behave badly from time to time - as I don't know the equivalent of 'Work Plan' in InDesign)

Open a PDF in Inkscape - save as .svg image

I really wish that I could just export directly to .svg! Curiously, I swear to you that InDesign supports .svg back in its infancy. FYI, .svg is always an important vector image format and a darn bit size more effective than .eps.

    * BUT * there is no way I'm paying $199 for a plugin (re: purchase SVG Kit for Adobe Creative Suite 2.0.2). It is quite excessive, IMHO!

I understand that this post will go nowhere... wanted to just scream a bit.

There are no SVG export in InDesign.

Try to save your InDesign file in PDF format. Open the PDF in Illustrator (may not work if you use fonts), then choose file > save as > SVG. Illustrator can record all the illustrations Illustrator in SVG.

  • Export since the 2015.6 update questions

Since the 2015.6 update I'm having issues export pictures to web sites. Export to the hard drive seems to work without problems. Export to Meetup and Facebook blew up after a few images. Have not yet tried SmugMug. Seems to have started after the 2015.6 update. The error message for Meetup is one of their site. If I export on my hard drive first, and then up to Meetup there no problem. Same goes for Facebook. I updated plugins for sites with no improvement.

Anyone else see this problem? Any entry form Adobe?

    Hi all

This issue should be fixed in the 2015.6.1 CC update that went live today. Please upgrade to Lightroom to the latest version. Check out the link Lightroom CC now available 2015.6.1

  • Y at - it an easy way to get the SVG data page d = "" an object without exporting to SVG? "

I need a way to quickly get the data from the path for an SVG. In GIMP, they have a menu option "edit > to path" that returns the data to trace for the chosen path. Super convenient.

    Right now I am:

    1. Design of my work (icons)
    2. Make a compound path of the work
    3. Economy in SVG
    4. Open source SVG in text editor
    5. Copy the contents of d = «...» »

Any thoughts on a quick way to get this data from illustrator?

Instead of save on the svg have you tried just choose your icon, copy (Ctrl + C) and then go to your text editor and paste it (Ctrl + V), this should then give you the same result as if you were out saving... ?

  • Kerning and tracking during export in svg detection

When I backup my work as svg kerning and tracking, I put the text isn't even mentioned in the svg and when I open it again it is ignored and it charges as normal without kerning text or follow-up.

Is there a way to fix this?

    kerning.pngkerning2.png

You cannot use manual kerning letters / follow-up of receivables that is simply not supported in SVG and who. If you want to keep the look by using these commands, you must vectorize. Otherwise, you need to limit yourself to things that can be expressed with CSS formatting / styles SVG in SVG code and others who may come if you create a proper paragraph style.

  • beginning AppleScript question

I'm a programmer, so I would have no difficulty in understanding AppleScript, but I must be missing something fundamental. I wanted to write a script that types the text in a window of LibreOffice and many examples, I found on the web, I should write something like

    Tell application "LibreOffice" typing "foo."

However get me the error ' cannot get hits "foo '"

I'm just a little confused. Why he's trying to * get * something?

Is LibreOffice scriptable? It must have an AppleScript dictionary to be scriptable.

This web page seems to indicate that this isn't: Scripting LibreOffice - helps LibreOffice

  • Board graph export SVG problem

Hello. I have problems to export to SVG work plan.

I have a very large vector of the United Kingdom's Ordnance Survey map, but I'm only interested in the use of a small part of it for display on the web.

I've hidden the area I wanted and created a plan of work. It looks fine in Illustrator CC, but when I export in SVG with the option 'Use work plans' it leaves black holes in the plan:

I'm doing something wrong or is this a bug?

figured it out. Choose attributes of internal presentation instead of CSS styling option. This solves the ISSE

There is a project for 2.0 which promises support in his favor, but this is not final and you have to wait for browsers and Applications to support.

  • SVG export generates an incorrect image display

    Hello world

When I have an Illustrator EPS or export to SVG and to implement in the code, the result is quite strange. The actual display of the image is only a small part of the full SVG. For example, if I have a plus it will show only the inner part of the most, which is black only. Is someone can you please tell me why this is? I export a document of 512 by 512 in SVG with the options 'Shrink' and 'Sensitive' are checked.

Have you checked 'Use of work plans' when exporting?

Also: what version is and what command export exactly do you use? I guess it's CC2015 and you file > export?
