Exported project plays fine on windows but unstable on mac?

For my bachelor's degree courses, I edited my last piece on Adobe Premiere Pro on a Windows computer at my school. However, at home, I work on a Mac (I unfortunately do not have Adobe or so I just re - edit). When it comes to reading the file exported .mp4 on my mac it is nervous/restless and virtually unwatchable, but computer at school, that's fine. I don't know if the length of the movie has nothing to do with it, as the problem/unstable file is long 30 minutes, however, another piece I've edited and exported which is only 3mins long plays very well on windows and mac?

Really at a loss here, as I exported it in several different file formats to try to see if it solves the problem, but in vain.

Would really appreciate if someone could help me because all my work is about to be deleted and I need a copy of this before!

Thank you very much.

Jazz

Hi Jasmine,.

Checked it with some other media player like VLC?

  • Torrent video plays fine in Windows Media Player, but only audio in Windows Movie Maker?

I downloaded a video torrent on my Windows Vista laptop. When I went to play in Windows Media Player, it works fine. However, when I try to play it on Windows Movie Maker, I can place only the file in the audio section / music, even if it is listed as a .avi file, when I import the file and drag it on the timeline. There is no red X or any sign of a problem with the actual file. When I go to preview, I get only a black screen, as expected when playing audio files. I checked super files supported for Windows Movie Maker, and .avi is supposed to be a supported video format.

I've downloaded xvid on my computer and it is before I even started with torrents. I know that this translates to the game in Windows Media Player.

I tried to download the same different torrents and I get the same problem each time a different torrent site, so I know that's not the real torrent.

I went to tools > Options and unchecked the box I had, which was the AVI decompressor, and the problem persists.

I don't want to convert the video file, unless it is absolutely necessary. If I need to download something, I will do, as long as you point me in the right direction.

I ask this question because I see only problems with the .avi Windows Media Player files, and I want to edit the file to make a music video.

    Any help is appreciated!

It turns out that the only way to solve my problem was to download Windows Movie Maker 2.6. Now, I can actually edit with ease and use the original .avi file without problem. I still don't know why I had so much trouble with the version that came with my laptop, but now it's the only solution that has actually produced results.

  • Windows 7 Media Center plays audio from VOB, no video. However, the VOB files play fine in Windows Media Player 7. What gives?

I have VOB files in a VIDEO_TS folder.  Windows 7 Media Center will generate a thumbnail for them, but when I play them I'm audio but not video.  However, when I play in Windows Media Player will play without any problem.  Can someone help me solve this problem?

    Hello Pinkled,

Just got out how we can get video of .vob files play correctly:

It's pretty simple, just add the folder to the library of MOVIES instead of VIDEOS. It is true that videos, just listen to the audio, but no video appears during playback.
Once you add to the movie library, W7 Media Center it will read "like a DVD" then you will also be able to navigate through menus.

Hope that works for you also.

  • Package donkey manages Windows but fails for Mac, Linux

I'm building a native extension of air (ANE). It packs it successfully on a computer windows using the command "adt." The same command using the same binary files (.swf, .swc, .a) fails on a Mac and Linux machine. The command is basically the same for all platforms, apart from the different paths for the path to the adt command. I use the same binaries for all platforms, extracted a subversion system.

    / Path/to/ADT-package - target ane SMS.ane extension.xml - CFC SMSActionScriptLibrary.swc - platform iPhone-ARM - C "SMSExtensioniOS".

The problem seems to be recognizing the contents of the iOS repertoire. The error is:

    no such/otherpath/to/SMSExtension/SMSExtensioniOS file.

The SMSExtensioniOS directory exists with the same name (including case). It relies as well on windows. Does anyone have any ideas?

The adt version returns 3.1.0.4880 on Linux. I'll check the version of windows later.

bash - x buildSMS will tell you the problem.

All you need is to do a dos2unix to your buildSMS script. Or create one on your mac computer.

    Hope that solves your problem.

I have a Flex (AIR) application that gives me problems on Mac. In one of the

  • The music will not play on my Windows Movie Maker 2.6 video?

I've converted .mp3 to .wav files so that they are compatible with Movie Maker 2.6, but they don't always work. I even tried to convert .wma but still nothing. Work files, they play fine on Windows Media Player but when I add them to the video there is no sound. Help, please!

The video is a video, hypercam if that helps. Which is a .avi format. Does it matter?

    Hello JackySC,

    1. What is the operating system installed on your computer?

MP3 and Avi files are compatible with Movie Maker 2.6 and should work. However, if you are not able to read files with this, I suggest you install Windows Live Movie Maker and check if you have the same problem.

    ====================================
Just because a media file plays in Windows Media Player
does not ensure that it is compatible with Movie Maker.

In fact... Movie Maker has problems with MP3 files... better
bet would be to convert the files to the .wma format before
    import into Movie Maker.

The following freeware program can perform the conversion:

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

    Format Factory
    http://www.pcfreetime.com/
    (FWIW... you can uncheck
all the boxes on the last screen)

After downloading and installing Format Factory...
Open the program and choose an output folder...
(this is where you will find your files when they are
    converted)

Drag and drop your clips of music on the main screen...

    Select "At?" / OK...
(the? is the format of your choice)

Click on... Beginning... in the toolbar...

    That should do it...

    Good luck...

  • Corrupted wav files in Adobe but plays fine in other applications

I have a few old projects that have been backed up several times.  The problem is that some of the sound files appear corrupted when I load into Adobe Audition.  The sound plays all distorted with clicks/POPs VERY STRONG in it.  However, I can play the same files very well in any standard player (Winamp, WMP, VLC player)

I tried to open the project in the new hearing, but same thing happens.  I also tried the option "Open in" and specifying what windows reports as sample rate etc. but it comes out the same.  Most of the other files wav in projects work very well, but here and there, like that and prevents me from remixing anything whatsoever.  Worst case I guess I could read the file in winamp and record it but then I would have to match the calendar and everything and I just do not have the motivation to do it on all of these projects.

    http://home.Comcast.NET/~chicken3/Track17.zip

It is one of the files if someone wants to take a moment and look at him.  I do not understand why winamp and all of them can play very well if it has been damaged in any way, another VLC I know does not need the file headers to play correctly most of the time.

Here is a picture of what looks like the wave at the hearing.  Oh, and Reaper reads files very well, if I had all my wav files to the bottom, I had just paste the whole project in Reaper and remix but unfortunately I cut all the files already trimmed.

    auditionsoundfile.jpg

I downloaded your file, as you say it opens fine in Reaper. And is considered to be 32 bits (int), which is not commonly used format. But in AA3, it is declared as floating 16.8 which was the old Cool Edit 32 bit format used to return & exclusive to them.

I open your file in Reaper made the new form taken, unsurprisingly, the file opens correctly in AA3. I happened to have my record files saved as 24-bit int, but all this is very configurable in Reaper.

BTW, such that it appears as your Session file is not damaged but only some files Wav AA should give you all of your changes, fades etc. very well with a bunch of PMExport reaper 32-bit float.

I guess that your installation of AA is ok with the 32bits uncorrupted files 'normal '?

If so there are a few things more like moving files & get the newly returned to be the same file names only in the ITS of the AA.

    Everything works fine on Mac.

    Explanations:

When you load the plugin where he was responsible for the first time, everything works for Windows, but if you want to change the location of the plugin, nothing happen on the export view. (bug confirmed on Windows 7 (EN, FR) (32, 64 bits) LR 5/6)

Some screenshots to see the problem:

    Plugin Manager:

Plugin is loaded and activate without problem.

    View of export:

    export file without ml.JPG

Magic Lantern appear only on "export to:" but nothing in preset

This is what you have when you load the plugin in the same folder as the first time:

    export file with ml.JPG

(don't forget ML instead of magic lantern, I tried something to find a way to solve this bug)

In Preset, there is ML-> double ISO Converter (cr2hdr)

Do you have any idea how to fix this bug? It's very problematic

I hope you could help me
