• Send emails as a task without external SMTP server

  Hello

  I would like to send notifications by e-mail at set intervals, but ideally without needing an external SMTP server (if I could use an external SMTP server, it would be easy to do either with UTL_SMTP, UTL_TCP). It is possible to send mails from within applications using the APEX_MAIL package but I can not use this package in a task scheduler to a valid session. It should probably be possible to create a session of "false" (Giffy Martin on Oracle APEX D'Souza: how to create a Session of the APEX in PL/SQL) in a scheduled task, and then to send mails using APEX_MAIL but I hope there might be a simpler solution, so advice and guidance would be much appreciated.

  If you do not want a 'Server SMTP external', which would be an "internal SMTP server" by your definition? APEX_MAIL is simply a wrapper around UTL_SMTP. You still need an SMTP server to send emails.

• PIX 515E external SMTP and POP access DMZ

  Hi all

  I need help to solve the problem I am facing with the configuration.

  config: PIX515E Ver 6.3 (1), with 6 interfaces outside the interface is connected to the Internet router and assigned public IP. Access to the Internet is configured for users connected inside Interface only using the command Nat & Global (Global off-1 Interface). I want to activate the access to electronic mail (SMTP & POP3) host couple in one of the demilitarized zone.

  1 NAT configured on the interface & access list applied. If I allowed SMTP & POP only I even don't get a kick on the access list. If I have IP enable any of these hosts, I can surf the net, E-mail etc. After that when I restict to SMTP & POP only, it works for a while, after some time, I don't see any future success to the access list.

  What could the case of such behavior, I missing something...?, I'm confused.

  Ensure that you allow DNS from these hosts too (UDP/53), as they're going to do queries DNS for the remote host IP address and the domain MX record before they can establish a connection to the mail host relevant external.

  If you allow all IP then they will be able to make the DNS query, then perform the connection SMTP/POP, and they will be cached DNS queries for awhile that's why it works for a while after the removal of the ACL. Once the DNS cache expires in these hosts, they must make another DNS query causing crashes so that you don't have him through the ACL permits.

  Hello - I have recently been approaching with an interesting use case as we see if Foglight can monitor SMTP (port 25) connections out to the 3rd party that use e-mail as a way to send and receive information for a particular customer.  Is this possible?  In a perfect world, if the NetMonitor Agent can be configured for specific ports, it would be the work that we could simply enter our source and destination and the corresponding ports.

• IOS 5 123-a 3620 CBAC SMTP issue

  I recently tested a 123-5 has image. Upon restart, my clients external smtp would fail on pop3. Troubleshooting, I found that the access list was fine. When, however, I would apply the firewall even with a wide open access as external smtp clients list would fail. Anyone know about this issue? I checked the notes below and found nothing. Sound on a 3620 16Flash 64 MB of ram. Any help appreciated. I had to roll back to a train of 12.2 T and it works very well.

  Probably CSCec78231 (http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/Support/Bugtool/onebug.pl?bugid=CSCec78231&Submit=Search), this is a pretty important IOSFW bug. Basically open to the outside by TCP sessions do not work cause the SYN/ACK coming from inside the host response gets dropped.

  I keep trying with a variety of different settings, the settings that I KNOW work on other systems, but I get the following message is displayed:

  I changed the static DNS domain name in network iDRAC settings...

  The same parameter work perfectly on my other devices on the network.

  Any ideas?

  I found that I needed to add a DNS server for the network properties. In my case, the entry door. I was using an external smtp server and well... you know the rest.

  Try it out below mentioned steps and check if that helps you accomplish what you want.

  1. start Windows Live Mail. A wizard may run the first time it is opened. If the wizard does not work when you open the program, do the following:

  a. on the Tools menu, click accounts.

  b. page accounts , click Add.

  c. on the Add an account page, click e-mail accountand then click Next.

  2. on the Add an e-mail account page, do the following:

  a. the area e-mail address , enter your e-mail address.

  (b) in the password box, enter your password. If you want Windows Mail to remember your password, check the box next to Remember password.

  (c) in the display name box, enter your full name.

  d. Select manually configure e-mail account settingsand then click Next.

  3. on the next page of the wizard, under incoming server information, do the following:

  a. in the dropdown under incoming mail server is a Server, select IMAP or POP3. You can use the IMAP protocol because it supports more features.

  b. under incoming server, enter the name of the POP3 or IMAP4 server. If you access your e-mail account online using the outlook.com Web site, enter outlook.com for the POP or IMAP server name.

  c. Select this server requires a secure connection (SSL).

  d. under log on using, make sure that clear text authentication is selected.

  e. under (if different from the e-mail address) login ID, type your full e-mail address.

  4. under outgoing server information, do the following:

  a. under outgoing server, enter the name of the SMTP server. If you access your e-mail online account using the outlook.com Web site, you can find the SMTP server name by signing in to your e-mail account to the following address: http://outlook.com. After logging in successfully, click the drop-down arrow next to the help question mark, and then click on to words. You must enter the name of the Server SMTP is listed in the page on under external SMTP setting. For example, if the about page shows the following, your SMTP server name is pod51005.outlook.com
  External SMTP configuration:

• Is it a question of Pix?

  Hi guys,.

  I got a 515E with Pix os 7.0. This work of Pix as a border between my edge router and my network firewall internal.

  Some of my clients inside require a SMTP via SSL connection to external SMTP server. I opened all the ports on the pix, but always in vain. Finally I tried to get one of the customer's internal network in order to access all THE ports on the outside. Right when I did, this particular client should be able to access all the services on the Internet. But the same error came out with the number SMTPoverSSL. Im sure it is the problem of the PIX because I had tried out the PIX and connect directly to the router, it works!

  Someone out there of experts who can advise me? Thanks in advance.

  It seems to connect very well, but when I try and send the email, this is the error I get:

  I have never seen this error before, and when I try and google it it not is really not much info on what causes the problem or how to fix it.

  Okay, that was weird. When I tried another smtp server, it seems fine. I think that the previous smtp Protocol wanted to use the ssl connection. Thanks for your help! _

  I configured the mail server and able to send reports for internal mail.
  
  I followed the following steps as mensioned in all blogs:
  1. I created a table with default column d called SA_SYSTEM_USER mensioned.
  2. any in the physical layer
  3 creates a view for model (Dual) table with column "DUMMY".
  4 joined these tables of towing made MODEL and SA_SYSTEM_USER as a Dimension about join a MODEL Email.
  5 renamed columnsfor as mensioned in Bolgs presentation table.
  6 restart the servers.
  7. I noticed the mail of the system and the system delivery profile created with a single email id (where are the other my table SA_SYSTEM_USER email ID?)
  8. but as written in Articles he never sends emails to external e-mails for example [email protected] (this is the email from existng in SA_SYSTEM_USER)

  No, no, nothing is more required SMTP side if his performance of the iBots for IDS in-house.

  If you set up SA_SYSTEM correctly, you can send reports to users non-obiee as account gmail etc.

  Try steps below...

  1. create and save a report using your logon fields and the SA_SYSTEM EMAIL that contains the people you want to send the report. Or by email or logon information must be an OBIEE user that exists in the RPD.
  2. create an iBot and under the general tab, the visibility of the non custom data value and run as an administrator account.
  3. set the conditional query on the report you made in step 1.
  4. for recipients, check the box, "to determine the recipients of conditional query. The "column that contains recipients' must be set to 'connection '.
  5. If you want to save the ibot to a shared folder, and then check the box 'Release for subscription' no otherwise.
  6. choose your content delivery and all other options and ensure that planning is set on immediately if you want to get out immediately.
  7. Save and send to any email address that was on the parole request.

• Unable to connect to an smtp server

  My OS is ubuntu LTS 14.10, I use Thunderbird version 38.4.0.
  I have 2 accounts, a gmail account and an e-mail office365 account.
  Until yesterday, I could send and receive emails on both accounts, however now it fails with the following error:

  The message send failed.
  The message cannot be sent because the connection to the server failed outgoing (SMTP) smtp.googlemail.com . The server is may be unavailable or refuses the outgoing (SMTP) server connections. Check that your outgoing (SMTP) server settings are correct and try again.

  (Or a similar message when connecting to the server smtp office 365.)

  I restarted the computer, confirmed the address of server, reset passwords, confirmed that I can ping the servers.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  The parameters of your server for Gmail seem good. I'm not really familiar with Office365, but they are probably ok as well.

  Are there external firewall or proxy, you have to go?
  You have all this computer's Internet access?

  What is suspicious, that the two accounts are not at the same time. So my best guess is that the cause is rather external and not Thunderbird.

  So I don't see any configuration nat here, so I guess it's either a private wan or you have a router upstream do nat?  If no Nat is required on the SAA so it should be as simple as

  Put us in place a new Cisco ISR. Almost everything works fine, with a few exceptions. Exchange e-mail stopped altogether for several days until I realized that I needed to redirect the ports, SMTP, HTTP, and HTTPS, by external to the Exchange Server. Now, mail flow is fine, but...

  Every time I start Outlook, I get a certificate error. When I look at the certificate in the error popup, it points actually to certificate self-signed Cisco router. When we try to use the Windows phones, they get a "certificate error" and direct the user to the network administrator. Even with OWA: a certificate error, even if it can be "accepted" / overridden.

  Each customer can still work, with the exception of Windows phones. In Outlook and OWA, mail is always be sent and received, but must be accepted manually that the certificate is wrong before the customer takes care, and then it takes a little longer to load.

  Any ideas?

  I did "" port forwarding on the pots of 25, 80 and 443. Again, I did it yesterday and now mail seems to flow, whereas before, even if we could enter the client with Certificate error, message not be received. (There was also a problem with mail however not passed, but that was due to our mail relay provider and was set yesterday as well...)

  Everything worked fine with the previous router (obviously). It was a high-end, the level of consumption Fritz! Box commonly used in Germany. I also had to allow ports through this box is not unlike using the nat ip inside static commands on the 876, but I don't know what he could have let his own or why SRI is the Exchange Server application SSL certificate hijacking.

  If we have actually figured this out today. The internal DHCP Server distributing the a DNS Server public as well as the internal DNS. The internal DNS was time and the customer became the external IP address of the public DNS and it received an unexpected cert of the router. Once we removed the public DNS servers from the DHCP server and used only DNS servers in-house, that the issue went away. Logical after we realized what was going on.
