Try to repair the Apple Software Update of the programs and features Control Panel, and then reinstall iTunes.

For general advice, see troubleshooting problems with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps described in the second case are a guide to remove everything related to iTunes and then rebuild what is often a good starting point, unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.

Make sure after you have uninstalled all the components Apple to remove iTunes shortcuts from the desktop, taskbar, or start menu before you reinstall.

Review the other boxes and other support documents list to the bottom of the page, in case one of them applies.

  • installation of iTunes on Windows 10 many double copies of each song

When I first installed iTunes on my Windows 7 PC I was told to adjust the following parameters to make sure that all the music files added to the iTunes Library is copied to the folder of my iTunes on the PC

iTunes > edit > Preferences > tab advanced and then check keep iTunes Media folder organized and copy files to the Media folder when adding to the iTunes library have been selected.

And that if they were not already selected, select these options, then go to

iTunes > > file > library > organize library > select consolidate files > OK

So far so good, it worked a treat on Windows 7

I got my years re-built PC for facing the windows of 10, which was all the same a Windows 7 upgrade, but a clean virtual install as all programs had to be reinstalled. I had backed up my music and copied this back on the PC before installing iTunes v 12.3.2.35 (64-bit) and proceed as follows, but to my dismay, I discovered that there were 2 or sometimes even 4 copies of each song that took a while to sort manually

    What had I done wrong?

And what should I do to install iTunes properly with one copy of each song, and to ensure that all files added to the iTunes Music Library is copied to the folder of my iTunes on the new PC?

It will be more useful to know the correct procedure, so I don't make the same mistake again.

You must have saved the folder iTunes as a working library, then restored it. No need to add multimedia elements as it would all have been in the library. The approach I recommend is given here: backup your iTunes for Windows with SyncToy library.

I saw you asking about duplicates before you set about cleaning them I would have offered this: Re: removing duplicate songs he removes ALL the same songs who has saved you some time and effort.

  • Problem with installation of iTunes on Windows XP

I tried to install the latest version of iTunes on my computer which has Windows XP, but got an error message that says it is not installed properly and I had to re - install. I had a problem installing previous versions so I wonder how to solve this problem without losing any of the music.

This question is better in the Apple Forums (for example, http://discussions.apple.com/community/itunes/itunes_for_windows), but you can just completely uninstall iTunes and install a freshly downloaded copy.  Your music should not be affected by uninstalling iTunes, but it's always a good idea to back up data that you are interested in.

  • iTunes for Windows XP download

    Hello

How is it going? I did several searches on Google a lot in my quest to find an iTunes that will download for Windows XP and I am unable to find one that works. Any link to a download of iTunes for Windows XP would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Supported on Windows XP (or Vista) has been removed when Apple iTunes 12.2 released last year.  The latest (and certainly last) version in support of XP is 12.1.3.6 - this is an out-of-sequence of September 2015 version that adds support for iOS devices 9, but has no music to Apple and other features added in iTunes, 12.2 and 12.3.  Links for the installer:

This, however, will not be a solution in the long term as its very little unlikely that Apple will release more updates to support the new features of iOS on old Microsoft OSs.  Any PC running under that Windows XP is likely to be exceeded its operational life and (even reversing the vulnerabilities to viruses and other malware) is going to be prone to failures of major equipment - hard drives and power supplies in particular.

    Hello

I tried to update iTunes on Windows 10 and now I get the message error "there is a problem with this Windows Installer Package".

  • Error7 message about the signature unidentified, the upgrade and installation of iTunes 10.5 for Windows Vista.

Original title: error upgrading and installation of iTunes 10.5 for Windows 6.

I tried all kinds of ways to solve this problem, but I can't seem to find a solution. This all started when I tried to update my iTunes to version 10.5. Then came the error message 7 on unidentified signature etc. I could not even run my iTunes more then. I started download iTunes again to repair and it just doesn't work. I don't have problems with the installation of my iTunes for the first time a year ago and upgraded whenever I allow it.

All other methods I tried to correct the error includes:
    • Uninstall iTunes completely and everything that it supports the programs and files (Quicktime, supporter of Mobile, Hello, Safari etc.)
    • Download Quicktime separately after you have uninstalled it as suggested by other users in some forum.
    • Update the frame Microsot.NET as suggested by the Apple Support site.
    • Manually started the installation of such Windows program suggested by one of the answers on this site:

      a. click the Start button, and then type services.msc in the start search box and press ENTER.
      b. Locate the Windows Installer service.
      c. check that the status is started. If the condition column is empty,
      d. right-click on Windows Installer, and then select start.
      e. If you get error trying to force start the Windows Installer service, then try to change the Startup Type to automatic.
      f. restart the computer.

I have tried for at least 10 times and I have not yet set and am frustrated. Would be really grateful a solution to this soon.
