Faulty CD drive!

Hey guys, my hard drive does not work as expected. Since some time now, since it works correctly, and using a system restore will not work... because I deleted the old restore points. Here's the problem anyway; When I insert a disc, the disc A) does not recognize the drive or B) recognizes the last disk that was there. The only way I can make it work is that if I restart my computer with the disc inside already... so the system starts with it ready to run. Any suggestions?

Microsoft Security Center could be involved in the issue, but I doubt it. You can
uninstall it to check.

Have already tried to contact Adobe and they told me to reinstall the program. I did this and the same issue. It's crazy. I can not turn off something that I did not more...

    Thank you.

No - I had, of course, tried all these things. Finally, I had someone (after several days) on the personal chat group that could fix and it did it in a few minutes. Too bad that nobody else seemed to be able to do. Adobe is very soft.

I can't thank enough the other person - it was amazing.

  • faulty internal drive, make noise, even when empty

My internal DVD drive is faulty and continues to make noise as if a disc is stuck in there. The noise stops when the computer goes into mode "Eve". It is an iMac 2007 and probably not worth the cost of a repair. Is it possible to stop the noise by turning off the player or eject it somehow from the hardware list. The computer works perfectly in all other aspects. I guess I could learn to live with the noise, but would rather not if someone out there has a solution. Thank you

  • Satellite L50D-B - faulty DVD drive does not recognize discs

Bought 2 months ago. The reader agrees not the CD, DVD or anything like that.
The name of the drive does not appear on the disc and if you double click on the DVD drive icon (even if a disc is inserted) the drawer opens and says please insert a disk. I tried several discs are not the issue.

So far I got technical support where I bought it.
They said to do a reinstall I did - with the full drive clean. I tried to update the drivers, but the computer insists on the fact that they are later. If I search my model number on the site of Toshiba driver support he gets rejected, and I have no access to (Toshiba) drivers.

I checked a few other forums and tried the regedit fix, but which is also irrelevant. If no solution is found (and I've lost hours of my life on this subject) then this laptop is going back for a refund and I'll get one who will perform the simple task of playing a DVD.

    Hello

Sorry to hear that you have such a stupid problem with your machine. On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here.
In my opinion you should not waste your time checking and search for some drivers who probably will not help at all.

Reinstall the original operating system that you have with your machine and test functionality with the factory settings. If the result is the same contact your reseller or Toshiba service provider directly and ask for help. They can check ODD and Exchange if necessary.

  • Problem of backup drive Seagate

I have an iMac that fails to perform backups time machine, constantly in error-36 on several files in the journal and then ending by mistake-11. I got around this by using Data Rescue IV to copy all the contents of the disc to 2 TB backup drive Seagate Plus. During this process, I got a warning of Data Rescue saying me that slow read access has been detected from the internal drive and it was a sign of a failing drive. The time estimates would go in all directions, ranging from a few hours, thousands of days! Finally, after about a day, the backup was complete. However, when I tried to use this disk to restore a backup, the program "restore from backup" in the recovery partition was told that no backup not found on the disk. I even tried to rename and add folders so that the path of the folder on the Seagate drive looked like this: /Backups.backupdb/Computer name of the name/2016-06-18-214653/Disk Partition. Remember that I did not use time machine to back this up, I arranged everything simply the folder saved in other folders so that the path can trick the computer into thinking it as a backup in time real-machine, but it did not work. Is there a way I can use this Rescue IV data backup to restore the computer by using the recovery (command-R on startup) partition?

There are several possible reasons for the mistakes of TM backup that you met. They could be resolved by trying a different port on your iMac, disabling potentially conflicting software (garbage "anti-virus" useless example), using disk utility to 'fix' the volume of the source, reinstall OS X (assuming that it has become corrupted for some reason, the common result of 'cleaning up' apps) and other possible, although perhaps temporary solutions. If you are motivated to explore these options you can still.

    aidancaamano wrote:

The hierarchy of the Time Machine backup volume file is likely to be very different from that created by Seagate software, so I doubt it. The RP provides an option to restore from a Time Machine backup, and you will not be able to fool it by restoring a backup created by something else.

You are much more likely to succeed by copying the files manually backup volume, after having replaced the faulty internal drive with a new one. If Seagate program, all the files should be present, you just have to find them.

In the absence of other options, I would try to create a backup, redundant or "clone" of the source volume defective before doing something more. At the present time, you work with a reliable likely source of defective with no recognized backup of it.

  • Satellite A660 - cannot install Win 7 using the external DVD drive

    Hello!

Not so long I asked help to reinstall win 7 on my laptop.
The only option was actually in the restoration of order dvd what I did. Today, it has arrived.

Problem is, or was that some of the CD or the DVD couldn't be read for some reason any.

Now it won't boot from the cd, it says faulty hard drives.

So what I did I have pluged my detached external DVD drive and it started from that.

But just after a few seconds, she told me to '1 support recovery' and open the drive in the laptop. Tried to insert the disc - nothing, like its not inserted, tried to disable computers portable cd - nothing please help

    Hello

You should first check if the external CD/DVD drive is recognized as a boot device.
Connect the external USB CD/DVD drive and switch on the device.
    Press F12.

Now, you will see all bootable devices. Generally, the CD/DVD USB drive should appear if his support. If it does not appear, you will not be able to boot from the external USB CD/DVD drive.

In this case I recommend you to create a bootable USB flash memory and install Windows 7 from USB flash memory

  • CQ57-339wm driver does not work

I work with someone who has a CQ57-339WM (serial 5CB2050K51, product QE264UA) that is out of warranty and had a faulty hard drive. They do not have to burn recovery discs.

I reinstalled Win 7 Home, installed the current ethernet driver, made all the important updates Win 7. I then started trying to get the wireless to run. I installed the Realtek driver and I can get the light on the keyboard to toggle the white amber.

    1. when I look at all of the network connections, he says he's there, but not connected.

    2. the properties of material shows "the device functioning.

3 when I do a diagnosis on the connection, windows responds with "there could be a problem with the driver for the wireless network connection card.

    4. I do the ' try these repair as an administrator "and get"the wireless network adapter problems. "

So, how to do a good install driver for this device.

I have to mention that I tried the other two drivers listed for this model and installers wireless just nonsense without any message, so IO am assuming that this realek driver is good. It is the only one that will be installed.

    Thank you very much.

I had already deleted the driver and reinstalled, but was not any available radio to do as you suggest.

But, I have re - reinstall Win7 and then installed the wireless driver that you accessed as the first thing (before the wired pilot, before the windows updates).

I now have a working wireless network!  Do not know what has been breakinbg the driver, but this sequence worked better than what I have described in the opus

  • Satellite Pro L300 29V - hard drive is dead

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro L300-29V only about 2 months, and suddenly the hard drive (very full) is apparently dead.

Initially the laptop starts Windows correctly, but now the HD is not yet recognized in the BIOS. If it goes beyond the Toshiba splash screen, I get the thing PXE saying "a cable is unplugged. I tried to re-allocation of places the reader twice, but still nothing.

It's really disturbing, because I had transferred recently practically my whole LIFE on it on other computers which many many many hours of musical recordings that I can't really afford to lose.

I think I'll have to buy a HD dock and see if I can read and copy the data.

Does anyone else have this problem? It is likely that the drive could have been erased?

I should also mention that a day or two before this happened, my girlfriend was using etc. Open Mobile (Internet Explorer, Microsoft Word,) - computer I pressed the power button that normally makes hibernate - and when I turned it back, rather than resume where he left off, the computer started from zero and no work/windows were saved.

I'm afraid that might be some stupid day, Avira, or on the Windows updates without end that has damaged something...

EDIT: OK, I have a picture of the error I received before complete failure, but I can't download it here. Here is the text (on a blue screen):

First of all, I must say that I have this Satellite L300 too. But I didn t have no problem, the HARD drive works fine for 1.5 years and I use this laptop for Internet and emails everyday. I m very satisfied.

However, what do you hear now?

I hope that you can copy your data to another device and you will need a new HARD drive for your Satellite Pro L300. That's fact!
In addition, there are a few good programs that they can the recovery of data from faulty hard drives. Just search with Google, you will find some interesting links.

  • Satellite 1905-s303, WinXP: giant screen, need to update the display driver?

Hey guys, thanks for your help in advance!

I am a Satellite 1905-S303 and Windows XP

Here's what s past with my computer:

When I turn it on there a little longer than normal to start. And I hear a sound of tck - tck on the back of my computer that I have don t usually hear.

When it does not start: everything on the screen is HUGE, and I get a window saying: ATI Advanced Desktop Utilities could not initialize, because no ATI driver is installed OR ATI driver does not work properly

Again, everything on my screen is huge (with the exception of the desktop background): the mouse, icons, windows, text, start menu, web browser, youtube videos, all. All the color and resolution stitching large and other than the fact that everything is great, the seams of the computer to function very well.

I ran Spybot S & D, my antivirus software and Malwarebytes AntiMalware. Everything turns out to be clean.

Okay, so, I tried to update my Device Manager display driver, and in the middle of installing Mobility M6, it is said: the file ati2mtag.sys on installation of ATI Technologies Inc. (VIDEO) DISC is needed. Type the path where the file is located.
I n t have this I can not be completed.

In any case, that s what I tried to do to solve this problem, but couldn't t. So I found this
Windows XP Display Driver for ATI M-6 graphics card and its compatible with my model computer. Located here:
    http://virtualtech.Toshiba.com/ToshibaSupportSite/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=2857 67xml & sliceId = & dialogid = 67910098 & stateId = 1% 200% 206 7908255
I think that what I have to do is to install the above. Can anyone advice please?
Is it safe to me, just download this driver and install it? Or is so dumb that it might mess up my computer? He says his self-installation.

Thanks a lot guys for all the help in advance. I REALLY APPRECIATE IT!

    Hello!

Search for this file on your HARD drive, then you have the path of this file, but if t can be found, reinstall the driver that you founded.
To do this, you must not start in safe mode. Remove the old driver files in Control Panel > add or remove programs, restart and install the driver.

On the sound of tck - tck, I can say that this results perhaps a faulty HARD drive. By controlling the Drive Fitness Test:

  • Satellite A350 - strange problem with hitatchi HTS ATA 320 GB HARD DRIVE

Recently bought a Toshiba Satellite A350 - still under warranty.

My problem started with gel/delay of Windows whenever I transferred specific files.
I found that a lot of my files are the same; It's then that I transfer or open these files - this can take 10 minutes to load crash, then displays a corruption error
    During this phase:
The hard drive makes a slow repetitive scratching sound
The laptop hangs for an average of 10 minutes before returning to a usable state - I found more than 15 files and suspect many more that are corrupt.
I suspect a faulty hard drive, like the check disk crashes and my system hangs whenever I open / transfer of these files.

I tried to reformat and install the new OS, but always check disk crashes and I lost a lot of important files, because they became unusable.

Is there something I can do to remedy this
    or
If the hard disk is defective, Toshiba will replace?

    BTW - I m in Australia.

    Hello

Exciting announcement, but it will be interesting to know how exactly you do and what kind of data are responsible for this. I want to say I use laptop computers and can not say that some of the data makes my crazy HDD.

If you really think that there is a problem with the disk HARD nearest Toshiba authorized service provider contact. They will check the functionality of the HARD drive, and if there is a serious hardware problem, you will get a new. Of course for free.

  • My external hard drive won't format properly

    Hello

Since I installed Capitan I noticed that my HARD drive was doing strange things, maybe he is not related to this and it's just broken. But I decided to format it, because Time Machine doesn't work either then I thought it was the right decision. I think I erased it all Terminal, and now the drive will not be installed.

Now, I really don't know what to do, I post all the photos that I can then perhaps you know what my problem is...

    Thanks in advance.

The drive is faulty, or there is another failure to communicate with him. If the drive has its own power use and verify that it works correctly. Try another USB port and cable. Try a hub powered or bypassing the hub, if applicable. Check that the USB ports and cable (s) are operational. If you have no reason to conclude that a defect, the only remaining possibility is a faulty hard drive.

  • HP z400 workstation: problems with a 3 to drive in HP z400

According to this thread: internal installation 3 TB drive in hp z400 , z400 is able to manage disks on the 2.2 to barrier.

So is my next problem caused by a faulty HARD drive, or the problem may be caused by z400?

I have HP z400 with Windows 7 Pro 64-bit installed, with the last BIOS (v03.57). A 3 TB drive (Toshiba DT01ACA300) is not a bootable floppy and works in AHCI (non-RAID) mode. It behaves in this way:

BIOS Setup (to be precise: Intel Matrix Storage manager option ROM v8.6.0.1007, dated 2008) shows the size of this drive is 746,5 GB.
After Windows 7 starts, I can start the GUI of Intel RST v9.6.0.1014 (the official and most recent storage driver downloaded from the HP support pages) and it says size is GB 2862.
Unfortunately, Managenment of disc in Windows 7 sees only 746 GB.

I tried to format the drive in z400 with GParted of Linux (with a GPT table), then the disk "worked" in Windows 7 (I want to say that I was able to write and read the data). It worked well even though I created two partitions and the other began to exceed the limit of 2.2 TB.

But there are two remaining issues:

    (1) always Managenment of disc in Windows 7 can not handle partitions over 746 GB and claims, that the size is 746 GB.

    (2) Windows 7 may damage some data by placing the 2nd table GPT on (?):
After I partitioned/formatted the GParted disk, tried Windows and returned to Linux, GParted says:
"The GPT backup table is not at the end of the disc, as it should.
This may mean another operating system to think that the drive is smaller. »

Solved. I needed to replace the Intel RST driver.

    Details:

    HP offers two drivers here:

    http://h20564.www2.HP.com/hpsc/SWD/public/readIndex?sp4ts.Oid=3912038&swLangOid=8&swEnvOid=4060

Initially, I got one, more recent sp65107.exe (9.6.0.1014 Rev. 21 August 2013), but he recognizes 746 GB only.

Now, I installed sp65105.exe (11.5.4.1001 Rev. April 18, 2013), which recognizes 2794 GB (actual size).

(BIOS still displays GB 746, but Managenment of disc in Windows 7 GB 2794)

Perhaps HP should add more detailed information on the differences between these two drivers...
