  • Windows Vista Home Basic 64-bit

I'm looking for customizable configurations, and I see that you offer with 8 GB of RAM, but it takes a 64-bit system to support it. At the same time, the only option that explicitly says it's 64-bit is the Business edition of Vista, which I certainly don't need. Is it possible to specify a command with Windows Vista Home Basic 64-bit?

Yes, I know what I'm talking about and I need the power, but none of the administrative nonsense associated with the addition of the company. Wikipedia:

«Similar to Windows XP Home Edition, Home Basic targets budget conscious users not requiring advanced do not support supports for domestic use.» ... Home Basic supports one processor physical, but with multiple cores. 64-bit Home Basic supports up to 8 GB of RAM. ... Comparable to Windows XP Professional and Windows XP Edition Tablet PC, Windows Vista Business Edition targets the business market. It includes all the features of the basic home edition with the exception of Parental control and the Windows Vista Standard theme. This edition can join and participate in a Windows Server domain. It includes Internet Information Services, fax support, Rights Management Services client, Encrypting File System, image system and recovery, offline files, backup a server to single user Remote Desktop , capabilities of collaboration ad hoc P2P cliché support that allows you to access previous versions of files, Tablet PCsupport and other features of business-oriented management. Vista Business edition supports up to two physical processors. 64-bit Enterprise supports 128 GB of RAM. »

I am interested in a configuration with a high power, dual-core processor and 8 GB of RAM with the cache of 2 GB drive in addition to that, among other things, large volume, an intense audio processing. None of the additional costs related to the company are things that I need, but I need a 64 bit system to exploit the 8 GB of RAM. Frankly, I really don't want to pay $79 just for the support of RAM, I don't want to deal with it through Microsoft, and while the basic edition is apparently not a Windows 7 free upgrade, I can cross that bridge when I come to it.

    My questions:

    • If I set up a machine with > 3 GB installed memory, will there by default be configured with the 64 bit version of the edition of Windows, I chose?
    • If so, is there a cost difference? There is no difference in cost between the registered versions 32 - and 64-bit Enterprise edition.
    • If not, is it possible to make this simple change to my order? Levono is even included in Windows Vista Home Basic 64-bit?

    buzgun wrote:

Ehh. The other side to this is that, when you try to maximize the efficiency of an audio production on the fly system, a huge amount of overhead of operating system is not desirable.

If you after a clutter of OS (which is what you seem to be which means by 'efficiency'), you will need to do significant customization of the load of the installation of any  version of Windows, so it won't be fine well what version start you with.

  • How to change the Vista Vista Home Basic to Home Premium

Hi he joined the forum, so Hello to everyone.

Could someone tell me please in the right direction with my problem.
I tried of me sorting, but I do not understand what to do.

I've had my Toshiba laptop pre-installed with Vista Home Basic now for six months, everything was fine, so I decided to move to Home Premium.
I've updated without problem and everything was fine until I had problem with the laptop and had to reformat.

And here is my problem, being a bit naïve and stupid I have no record or instructions to get my upgrade back.

I tried to find a solution but don't know what to do.

  • Vista Home Basic - update SP2 fails error 0xc0190005 code

I have and Acer Aspire 5315 with Vista Home Basic installed.

Today I downloaded and started to install SP2 and all seemed well until reboot, where I am treated to a black screen showing what I presume to be names of files or registry entries because they are updated. The line begins by xxxx/64281 and a dewcription who follows between parentheses.

This process never ends because it showing:
    "!! 0xc0190005! 22412/64281 (\Registry\machine\schema\ wcm://Microsoft...) »
The end of this line appears truncated for me so I do not know which file or registry entry that is a failure on.

I tried to repair using startup options and he didn't offer not a choice of restore points, just tells me it is either restore to a previous state (which stops working after about 5 minutes and then he's here doing nothing for so long let him - more than an hour!) or disk errors fixing which translates to reset and the same error once again product.

Safe mode does not start and restore the last good known eventually brings us to square one.

Is there someone who can translate this cryptic error code and point me in the right direction?
Please Don ' t just point me to an article and if you copy and paste a response, at least be so kind enough to make it readable.

Vista SP2 offered to your computer through Windows Update or you try to install manually?

What application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?  What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications?  What third-party firewall (if applicable)?  Who were these applications that run in the background when you tried to install SP2?

A (another) Norton or McAfee application has already been installed on the computer (for example, a free trial version which is preinstalled when you bought it)?

I use Windows Vista Home Basic on a Dell Inspiron 1501.  I have recently accepted that some guest downloads Windows with terrible results.  First downloads do not appear to have been accepted and the system of guard stop and startup trying to cancel.  Second as I result, I seem to have lost access to a range of Windows tools.  For example in Panel I can't open system icons or Windows Update.  Nor can I access these services from any other avenue on the computer.  Whenever I have find an icon or a file screen flashes a dialog briefly and then disappears.  The effect of this is that I'm completely unable to access or to implement the recommended tools or services that could solve this problem.  My ability to manage my computer has been reduced to zero.  Dell were not receptive and I can't get a response from Microsoft

  • Accidentally deleted the folder Microsoft Games (VISTA Home Basic)

My mother had problems with solitaire and other games included with his eMachines desktop computer in the Microsoft Games folder.  His machine is running Vista Home Basic.  I tried to fix it by copying it in the folder Microsoft Games laptop (Vista Home Premium) wife.  However after that I copied on games, when I tried to launch the game, I got an error message that the games would not be on this version of Windows Vista.  Where can I get copies of these games that will run on Windows Vista Home Basic?  All software has been preloaded on the machine when she bought (not Windows discks, etc.).  These were included with the machine.

    Thank you

    Steve

Click the button start , click Control Panel, click programs and then click turn on turn Windows features on or off. In the Windows features dialog box, select the Games check box, and then click OK.

If it is already selected it disable the option and press OK and then select it again and press OK.

Depends entirely on what games they are. It is likely that some will be

  • In Windows Vista Home Basic automatic updates, anti virus updates and scans, etc. are not made during the night while the computer is in sleep.

Using Microsoft® Windows Vista Home Basic Version 6.0.6001 Service Pack 1 Build 6001, I have my computer set up to install updates automatic update and scan with my AVG antivirus 8.5 from one day to the next, while the computer is in sleep. In the morning, when I wake up the computer it alerts me that there are updates available, and I have to click the balloon to install the updates. Meanwhile my anti virus is update solange wake up also. Both are supposed to occur automatically during the night. Shouldn't these scheduled etc. updates works even if the computer is asleep?

  • Why am I getting the error Code: 821 when I try to upgrade to Service Pack 1 for Vista Home Basic?

The last update my computer (Vista Home Basic) tried to download and install is the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and the .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update (KB951847) x 86... According to Windows Update. The problem is, it always ends up telling me that the installation failed due to the error Code 821. I found nothing covering this error code on the Microsoft support page. Why am I and how to fix it?

    Hello MadHatter106,

The link below contains several options that you can try for your problem of .NET.  I would first try the repair facility. Then the uninstall option.
