FF requires QuickTime plug-in installation on some sites, but I already have the QT plugin 7.6.6 installed last.

When I visit certain websites, I get a "missing plug-in" warning necessary for certain media content. When I click through, it is imperative to install QuickTime. I already have the latest version of QT and the QT FF plug-in. This has been a problem for a couple of years, through previous versions of FF and QT versions. I wonder if this a page html code issue, and has nothing to do with FF or QT?
