  I'm new to the Oracle on Demand (my background has-been Siebel). I learned that OOD has had a lot of configuration options (if not all as Siebel). Until now, I worked in the Trial Version by Oracle and the only way I could do the config used the Admin screen, but this seems to be limited. My colleagues have worked on salesforce and it seems that gives you more capabilities of config (something like Apex, force the platform etc.). I need to know is there a way that we can do a config more in Oracle we Demand. I have the list of questions that I had sent to Orace Support and so I write here. If anyone can help me to know if a list is possible
  
  (a) how we add, remove, or edit button? for example, we want to remove the button "Edit" of some of the applets and add custom buttons?

  Hello.. some answers to the best of my knowledge

  (a) you can't. They are hunted by the permissions of the user. If they have the permissions to add/change a record type that the buttons will appear.
  (b) you cannot delete it, this is the norm for each entity OOB
  (c) speak to the customer service, they will assign a logo for you. You can change your theme in the profile of the company to change the appearance, but these are pre-defined themes
  (d) you may not expose these fields of account on a service request. JoinFieldValue should work, you can create a custom service request field that is account phone #, when recording set the default field to the account phone number
  (e) Admin - page-layout App customization - your body - search
  (f) not sure I follow you here, that are trying to achieve

  Make sure that your iPhone and your Mac are signed in the same Apple ID Then on your iPhone, go to settings > Messages > text Message transfer, and then select your Mac.

• Cannot delete do not disturb contact

  Open your messages and search for a conversation with this person. Press 'I' icon in the upper right corner, then uncheck "do not disturb".

  Just answered my own question... Power the phone off and reboot brought back the icons on the screen of the phone. Go figure.

  so I just tried to share a contact, using Messages, from another phone (non-iPhone) and I expect Messages to send a vCard using SMS to other mobile phone, but instead the iPhone said: "failed to send Message."  Text messages normal sending very well (with the Green bubbles).

  Well, I figured that out, and it relates to this discussion of the Apple forum:

  According to my cellular provider (Fido, Canada), the decision to send vCards and picture Messages to cellular data radio was conducted by mobile phone manufacturers (Apple, Samsung, etc.), but it's probably a standard now that cellular providers design their networks (although I could believe the reverse had happened).

  Fortunately, even if I use the connection 'data' Fido that they don't consider it as data, but as the e-mail... which is good for my boyfriend who is also using Fido, because is not a data plan but can now receive vCards (and picture messages) via MMS when it allows its cellular data (radio).

  But the real question is why was decided to send a business card on the data network and not on the SMS network, as it is just text (such as a comma-delimited file).  And if the vCard happened to contain non-text byte then why they wouldn't just UUENCODE (or MIME) the vCard if there no text fields so that it could be sent via SMS?

  Why I care, well of curiosity, of course, but also because if we could do more over the cellular transmitter voice/sms, so maybe we could turn cellular data more often, which would save on energy consumption (I guess), reduce the heat our phones get and to reduce our exposure to the EM radiation have some of the disabled (c.f. Bluetooth WiFi wireless transmitters (, data transmitters and cell phones cellular voice/sms).

• Assistant (DTA) data transfer transferred some of my Contacts, none of my calendar or Memo files

  When I ran the DTA at 5:30 PM PST yesterday, he said he had picked up ~ 4100 chronogram (Palm Desktop 6.2), with the exception of 20 files of calendar, which was very good.
  
  On my old Palm device, he said I had ~ 1300 address book records, ~ 2000 Date record book and ~ 850 record Memo. So when the DTA said he had picked up ~ 4100 records, which seemed all right.
  
  When you are prompted on my pre, I chose to sync my data with Google.
  
  Immediately after this one-time transfer process, I checked my pre, and there is no record of my old Palm Desktop Contacts, calendar, or PRE memos. I thought that I should wait to see what happens.
  
  About 7:30 PM PST yesterday, slightly more than half of my Contacts has appeared in Google Contacts section 'My Contacts' (725 total) and on my pre. The same recordings were in Google Contacts and on my Palm Pre. Furthermore, none of my calendar or Memo files had been transferred more to my pre or Google (for the calendar).
  
  I thought that maybe the data transfer was still running, so I waited all night.
  
  Since this morning 9:45 AM PST, nothing has changed.
  
  My Pre and Google seem to have incomplete data:
  -slightly more than half of records from address book Palm Desktop 6.2 made to my pre / Google
  -any of the records in Palm Desktop 6.2 Agenda made my pre / Google
  -any of the records in Palm Desktop 6.2 memos made my pre / Google
  
  SUMMARY: I'm extremely frustrated. The only thing that I have always enjoyed with Palm devices has been the opportunity to upgrade to the new Palm devices and carry my existing data. The one-time transfer of DTA to pre process is very buggy. Somewhere after the DTA extracts data from my Palm Desktop (~ 4100 records), most of these documents have been lost. It is a horrible customer experience.

  I did some online research, and the author of the following article also fell on a similar problem:

  I have tested and verified that when I create a new record on my pre calendar, he gets sync would correctly in Google Calendar and vice versa (new record created in Google Calendar sync does get would be my pre). Whenever I tried to do, at some point, sync Google contacts folders would stop permanently, until all records have been transferred to the course. You can find out how many records have been sync'd to a given pre Contacts by clicking on Preferences & accounts by clicking on the account. You will see the number of contacts.

  So I decided to try to use the Palm profile as the storage for my Contacts and calendar, and all my Contact records (total 1372) was migrated successfully on the Meadow

  The pre now displays contact records in my pre Contacts as I expect: I see the files I transferred over my Palm Desktop. And because I added a Gmail contacts, Gmail addresses friends get "linked" to the corresponding Contacts automatically.

  Summary: my recommendation is that, for the DTA transfer process, you choose to store (backup) your Contacts (and calendar) on the Palm profile. Of course, the downside of this approach is data that has been created on your Pre will not be displayed in Google Contacts and Google Calendar. Of course, you can choose to add your Google accounts on your Pre to your Contacts and calendar, which is what I did. This makes the Chronogram of your Gmail contacts and introduce you to Google Calendar on your Pre. For example, I added the calendar we vacation on Google Calendar. And now these holiday appear on my Pre calendar.

• Skype duplicate contacts and merge Outlook Contacts

  Skype has just decided to synchronize my Skype contacts with my Outlook contacts, resulting in a gigantic mess. I would like to keep these two separate worlds, although there may be few people on both lists. Reason is that I consider my Outlook Contacts more private - only people close belongs there. So I use my Skype account in labor, of course, different sets of contacts.
