    Hello

    ·        Remember to make changes to the system?

This happens because autorun.vbs is created by a virus or Trojan horse. The virus normally loads the file autorun.inf in the root of the folder all the hard drive or USB key and then run the autorun.bat file which contains script to apply and merge autorun.reg into the registry, with possible change in the following registry key to ensure that the virus is loaded at system startup:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]

    USERINIT = Userinit.exe, autorun.exe

Finally, autorun.bat will call wscript.exe to run autorun.vbs.

When the antivirus software or security detected the file autorun.vbs as infected, the file will be deleted or deleted or quarantined.

I suggest you follow the steps mentioned below and check if the problem is resolved.

    Method 1:

I suggest running the fix which is present in the article below and check if the problem is resolved.

When you run an .exe on a Windows Vista-based or Windows 7 computer file, the file may start another program

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/950505

If it does not help follow method 2

    Method 2:

    a. run the Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del or right click on the taskbar)

    b. stop wscript.exe process if available by selecting the name of the process, and then click on end process.

    c. then terminate explorer.exe process.

    d. in the Task Manager, click on file-> new task (run?).

    e. type cmd in the box text open, and then click OK.

    f. type the following command one by one, and then press the Enter key:

    g. del c:\autorun.*/f/s/q/a

    h. del d:\autorun.*/f/s/q/a

    i. del e:\autorun.*/f/s/q/a

Where c, d, e each representative the drive letters on Windows System. If there are several disks or partitions available, continue to command by changing on the other drive letter. Note that you must also clean files autorun from USB flash drive or an external portable hard drive as the hard drive may also be infected.

If this does not help, follow the method 3.

    Method 3:

    a. click on start and click on run

    b. type regsvr32 /i shell32.dll

    c. Press ok

    d. you will see a message DllRegisterServer and DllInstall in the successful shell32.dll file

I got rid of a virus, but it seems to have struck my registry. None of my programs opens. When I click on them, I just get a tip line that says no file association. I tried the system restore and it goes through the process of restoration, but then the same message appears, no program association. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you!

Firstly, if your computer has been infected by malware, you removed and then use the system restore, chances are good, that the malware was placed on your computer.

Press CTRL-ALT-DEL and open Task Manager.  Once there, click file, and then hold down the CTRL key and click New task (run).  This will open a command prompt window. On the command line type assoc.exe = exefile > press ENTER. You should receive a prompt action succeeded.

Your shortcuts may have been separated as well. On the command line type assoc.lnk = lnkfile > press ENTER.

... when I click on anything in the email is a box that says "this file has no program associated with it for performing this action...".

    Everything is a bit wide.

Assuming that you are talking about the first, (re-) represent Internet Explorer as default browser by clicking on the Start button then clicking default programs. Select set your default programs, and then Internet Explorer in the left page and click the Green Summit.

To ensure that all users of the computer doesn't have the same problem, login Windows with an administrator account and return to the default programs page. This time, select set access and the computer program defaults.

    1. Select custom , and then click the chevrons pointing to extend the selection.
    2. Under choose a default browser, select Internet Explorer.
    3. For other browsers you use, select enable access to this program .
    4. Click OK, and then restart the computer.

Now try to click a link in an e-mail. If it still does not work, please describe in detail what is happening, including the full text of the error message.

  • Explorer Windows error message: this file does not have a program associated with...

When I click on the Windows Explorer icon in the task bar, I get the error "this file has no program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or, if already installed, create an association in the default programs control panel"

When I use the command line in the C:\Windows directory and enter EXPLORER. EXE, I get this same error msg...    BUT if I add '/?' after the walk-name - it.    And continues to operate even for other functions (show all that when the cursor is over the icon in the taskbar W.E...  When all instances are closed, clicking on the taskbar Icon again gives the same error msg...

The properties of the taskbar show the ' target: "like '% windir%\explorer.exe' the" start in: "box is empty." even with the "" shortcut key: ", missing something?"

If it is there, where is this default programs control panel and what goes in?

    Bob K.

    Solved...

    After Googling the problem above, that I changed was the ' targe: "command '% windir%\explorer.exe' to ' % windir%\explorer.exe/n, / e, C:\" " »

I prefer to get to the top anyway.    You can use any file name you choose.    In fact the ' / '?  seems to be enough to bring up the initial default value.
