We are using PP CS6 and in the face of errors. When we try to import files in photo shop, we get a generic error message and it will not import them we. I tried a large number of formats such as tifd, but jpeg files do not import of hell and throws the exception.  Help, please!

Hi joe65,

Welcome to the Adobe forums. I think that this question is because you are using a PSD with CMYK format. Please open the file in Photoshop and resave the file in RGB format as Premiere pro supports the RGB format. Please update if it works.

Kind regards

Vinay

  • Illustrator CS4 PSD files import problem

I suddenly have trouble cleaning importing Illustrator CS4 files in Photoshop CS4.  I use these products for years and have done this hundreds of times without difficulty.  But all of a sudden, the resulting files are not smoothed.

Illustrator files are saved with the PDF compatibility option checked.  I tried to place them (and by engaging - I know they're looking bad but clean after validation) and I tried to paste from Illustrator.  Not here are the relatively simple files with no font - text only - and no transparency or effects.  I also tried to save as EPS files, but without success.  I took to export PNG since Illustrator files and import that.

I'm short on a recent Mac tower with a lot of everything.  OS x 10.6.7 and everything is up-to-date.  Adobe Creative Suite CS4.

Could something has been corrupted?  Something might be interfering?  Is there a setting preference-"Import Illustrator files nicely" which must be marketed?

    Thanks for all the ideas.

When you place an EPS, PDF file or HAVE - there is an option in the options toolbar that says "smoothing". Make sure it's on.

If you open a file in EPS, PDF or AI - there is a checkbox in the first dialog box that asks you the page number, resolution, etc. that says 'Anti-Aliasing (in the Page Options group). Make sure it's on.

  • Import Photoshop files (PSD) for Animate (Flash) via JSFL scripts

    Hello

I want to automate the workflow we have including import psd files in Animate (Flash)-> make a few changes on the content > export swf.  The last part (-> to make some changes on the content > export swf) is already automated, the only thing left is to import psd files. The problem is that every time you import a psd file, you are invited to a window where you must enter the preferences how you want to import a psd. Exactly, this window is the problem, we must always change preferences and confirm the changes by hand. Is it somehow possible to set preferences for psd import by jsfl script and avoid the window preferably?

    Thank you.

Yes, assign the boolean false dialogue show in the importFile method.

I think you're talking about using the crop tool? If you're cropping with a size and resolution that involves interpolation of the image, the crop tool will use your preference for the Interpolation of the Image. By default, bicubic is automatic, which can easily result in a sharp file. Change your preference (in general) to bicubic and you shouldn't see any sharpening.

I hope it works for your situation.

It was to be expected if you have made a backup from external software instead of using the recommendations of backup / restore of the Organizer:

    https://helpx.Adobe.com/Photoshop-elements/KB/backup-restore-move-catalog-Photoshop.html

If you "import" the backup made by other software, you can only retrieve the metadata that you have voluntarily registered in the metadata section of your files.

The albums are NOT written in the files. They are lists of files stored in the catalog, like playlists for audio.

Because it is saved in the catalog, you have to run the process described above to retrieve the catalog or (if you install on the same computer) to 'convert' catalog.

What is the destination folder that the date be underneath?  In the top right it says users who suggests, you try to put the photos on top of your username instead of under your username.  Maybe that's the problem.  So change your folder in the drop-down list at the bottom right of what it should be rather than users, and if you're going to show us the destination of your photos at least scroll through the list of folders down right so that we can see which is the white highlight.

  • XDCAM EX files import problem

This is the first time that I imported the XDCAM EX files in this version of the Prime Minister, and when I select the camera name, in which resides the BPAV file where all the info of the clip, is the only thing that matters is an empty file of BPAV.  I tried selecting the my hard drive BPAV file and it comes in a vacuum.  I tried to select the video file in the file BPAVE and it is in a vacuum, so for the moment I have to open the file clip and individually select each mp4 file to import in PP.  Is this a problem with the program or do I have to go somewhere else is the cause.  In previous versions, the import has always functioned very well.  Anyone encountered this or have any suggestions?

  • Can I record a Photoshop6 dng file for import back into Lightroom 4

Can I save a Photoshop6 dng file for import back into Lightroom 4. I don't understand why this is not simple.

    Hello!

Format DNG aims to be a universal formats of files for files camera raw: http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/extend.displayTab2.html?promoid=DTEHA

You can save a DNG camera raw without problem.

Just to go the low left corner of the interface hand and select "save image".

    (as explained in the help files here: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/creativesuite/cs/using/WS91C1E0BD-9600-42b2-8EBE-1E012ED61058. html #WSB0DC278F-B3DF - 4a 60 - 88BC - B3D6A852C242 )

Or you try to save a file edited in Photoshop as a DNG?

For what purpose, exactly? A TIFF, PSD or PSB file can have a raw file, saved as a smart object (to allow a subsequent reprocessing in Camera Raw) and all the pixels / editing of vector layers intact.

If recording maximize compatibility, it can be opened in Lightroom for cataloging and editing, if necessary.

  • Not maximized PSD bug/problem - solution [half] as possible.

Just been checked by images in early 2005 that are part of a large ongoing project and, basically, all files PSD in the first year is missing from LR, despite have no problem being viewed in Bridge.

At first, I thought it was my duotoned PSD which were the cause of the problem, but it is a problem of "not maximize compatibility" which is to have LR. However, if I go to the PS and resave files with max compatibility enabled [even if changed], the problem still exists.

Fact some research and others have had same problem but no clear solution with Cs2 + CS4. So, an intuition led me to try and do a "save under" in CS5 instead and voila, thumbnails appear in Path Finder and I can now import into LR.

The downside is that you can't write an action that includes a simple "Save as return to the same file" that I can tell. Be able to do that would make this possible [and many others] action much more versatile. Present stops "save under" for all other specific file path was chosen during the action was written. Activation of ' save slot for original in the preferences folder is no help either. I missed something or I'll have to do it manually one "save under" on each of 500 + just this first part of a large project. Not to mention the many, many thousands of old PSD files I probably suffer the same bug.

I tried a basic action that only registered and closed file - it does not work. But if I have this action of the bridge of batch and then do a backup and close during the journey and also save as [which I think is what you suggested], which then gives a warning dialog that suggests adding a "save under" action don't work if a destination is included in the action. Which is what I don't want. But I did anyway. Files now have thumbnails in Path Finder, which would indicate a composite layer has been added, but LR says still preview not available and will not import the files.

I just did a test... I made an action with a step of Save as. The test images were PSDs I re-recorded without backward compatibility verified. In Lightroom import, these images presented as files without previews which indicate that LR will not be able to import them (I didn't not try actually since I have the warning).

I ran the action into a bridge called Photoshop batch. I selected test with PSD without the composite files saved records. I selected the option Save and close in the drop destination and then checked the option Override Action "save under" commands checkbox.

I got the warning "when this option is enabled, the files will be saved in the destination folder that by" save under "steps in the action." If there is no 'Save' or ' Save as ', no files will be saved.

This is as expected and since step save as a been recorded in the action, you must select this option. I ran the batch on the test and then in LR 3.x Import folder and the PSD had been recorded in the folder with the compatibility has been verified and I could import them into Lightroom.

So, as far as I know, you should be able to perform an action with a step save money to re - register without backward compatibility of PSD files checked and end with the PSD WITH back verified compatibility for import into Lightroom.

Ntuser.dat.LOG files are important to include in a backup that is used to transfer files to a new computer? When you try to backup or copy files I get the message that these files (there are 4 of them) cannot be saved or copied because they have already opened and used on the computer. Hi MAnnetteFox,

Thanks for posting the query on Microsoft Community.

You do not need to take backup of these files and they are normal files that will be generated.

Import problems in Lightroom CC / Windows 10

I have problems to import a batch of photos of a recent session. I am importing images, every time even on the same day, since a camera SD card on my hard drive using the option "copy as DNG.  My original files are Nikon raw (.) The NEF format) with sidecar JPG.  Among the 292 cases tried in importing, only 7 are converted. DNG format and do it in my catalog.  The remaining files have all been copied to my hard drive but are not converted to. DNG and do not appear in my catalog.  When I try to import and convert the remaining files that were copied on my drive hard but not converted to DNG or added to my catalog files is displayed with a check box but eventually fail to get changed or added to the catalog.

I also tried to copy originals directly into a folder on my hard drive and making the Lightroom Import from there and get a similar result.

I am under Lightroom CC on a Windows 10 PC.  Any idea what could be causing the problem?

First of all why you are converting to DNG? LR CC read Nikon NEF files fine.

Have you tried to copy the pictures to a folder on your disk and import only the naves with no conversion when importing?

Start a new catalogue and test-only import NEF files with no conversion to DNG.

  • Workflow for multiple files .psd to enter the first form of layers - CC 2015

I need to import multiple files (30 +) Photoshop in first and keep the layers intact (for the basic animation).  I started to put in yesterday and someone, please tell me that there is a better workflow!

Here is what happens... I do a sandbox for images and make sure it is open (for all files go).  I go into the media browser and select the file (by selecting several files do not work - nothing happens).  I import that a TI asks if I want to merge layers.  I say 'no' and it is important the .psd as a new bin in my Sandbox to images and * open * the new bin.  I then click on the new tray to close, and then click on disable the tray (so the next file will not go in the bin).  Can I import, say 'no' to merge the layers, he brings as a new bin and * opens both * bins.  You see where I'm going with this, right?  Every time I have import a .psd must make the same choice to merge not (I couldn't find a preference to change it anywhere) and, if that weren't enough boring no, ALL .psd locations open when a new file is imported and so I have to manually, click to close them all before I can import another file.

How many clicks does take to get to the center of a Photoshop file?  A heck of a lot more than I want to click!

Is it possible to set the preference always import a .psd in layers?  And if not (I will file an application as soon as POSSIBLE) is it possible to prevent the .psd bins to open all the time?  It took me half an hour just click to get all of my images in.  It's not cool!

    Allynn

Import PSD is one at a time, I'm afraid.

This error seems to be corrected if you

    1. sign up for an Adobe ID on Adobe.com

    2. click on the link in the email that is sent to you as a result of registration which requires you to verify that you have registered the account.

    3. open Dreamweaver CC 2015

    4. open a document (you could open just a simple HTML document empty

    5. go to the navigation menu and open the WINDOW, make sure you are logged in with your Adobe ID, otherwise click Connect and connect.

    6. a window should appear asking you if you want to synchronize your settings.  Check the box for always do and click the sync button now automatically

    7. go to Window\Extract - the extract window should open with the tutorial

    8. Select DOWNLOAD PSD... This should not open the window instead of getting an error on LOADING...

I hope this solves your problems... otherwise try to connect to 2015 CC of Dreamweaver, Dreamweaver CC 2015 closing, wait a minute or 2 and start over at step 3 above.

It worked for most of my students.

My question is Lightroom will not import to my iMac it keeps saying can not read files. the same files to import fine on my macbook air, so I wondered what could be the problem with Lightroom on my iMac.thanks in advance for the help with this

"Unable to read file" problem is normally write in the destination folder.

Using the Finder, make sure that you have READ and WRITE access to the destination folder.
