file $rafsykh in the recycling bin seems to be store empty even when items

Tonight I used windirstat (http://windirstat.info/) to search for large files that I could remove to make more space on my hard drive and found about 7 GB in the trash, even after it had been emptied. The files are in a folder called $rafsykh and contains music files that were there when I emptied a few days ago. If I go into this folder, I can actually play the files, while they in fact seem to be there.

What is $rafsykh, why are the files still there and how I remove them? These files are so that they can be restored?

It seems that your Recycle Bin is corrupted.

You can remove it using this procedure: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/131294-recycle-bin-corrupted-cannot-delete-file-folder.html

The Recycle Bin on Vista, it works that the two files are created: Let's start with R$ and the other with I$ followed by a random string. The I$ file contains metadata that and rhe $R file contains the original data. Eventually the $I file has been deleted, but something stopped deleting the $R file.

-The 1000 at the end of the SID indicates that these files belong to the first account created on the computer. If it is different from the account that you use to display the Recycle Bin you will not see them. A user only sees the content of the trash that they have created.

  • Why can I not move file .dat to the recycling bin?

When I try to delete a .dat file that he asks to delete permanently, however I don't want to do this. I want to just move it to the recycling bin in case I need it, I can restore from there. However whenever I delete the .dat (from Desktop on my C:\ folder) it not move not the .dat file instead he said: he can't move it and it can delete it only permanently. I have a SSD hard drive in a laptop.

I already checked Recycle Bin properties (those configured correctly) and it is not on a flash drive, this drive has a recycling bin.

I wonder what it could be?

What is so special about a .dat file?

Wrong question: nothing special about of a .dat file.

Good question: what is so special about your Windows installation?

I suspect malware, a virus, or a third-party application that has its own ideas on the .dat files. It certainly isn't a property of Windows. You can easily check this by running a test on any Windows 7 computer.

How long is "all the time"? Unless it's a very short time, your
chances are next to zero now.

    But here's my standard response:

"Deleting" a file does not actually delete it marks just the space
also available to be used. There are third-party programs that can
sometimes recover deleted files. The problem is that the space used by
the file is likely to be replaced very quickly, and it makes
    the unrecoverable file.

So your chances of successfully recover this file are decent if you
Try it again immediately after the deletion of it and go quickly
downhill from there. If you have used the computer since then (for
example to write this question and read this answer), your chances may
    be very poor now.

But if the file is large enough, it's still worth a try. Stop
using the computer in question immediately, if you have not done
already. Download an undelete program (and here's one:)
others to choose from; Do a search) on a friend's computer and bring
it to you on a floppy disk, CD or USB to try.

If that fails, your only recourse is to bring or send the disc
a company of professional file recovery. This kind of service is very
expensive and may or may not work in your case.

And another thing to note: If you have files on your disk
important for you and you don't save them regularly outside
media, you play with fire. You can read this article
on the backup that I wrote:

  • Is there a way to restore a SINGLE FILE in a folder deleted from the Recycle Bin?

Suppose that you remove all the contents of a folder that contains the files and subfolders. If you open the Recycle Bin, you can see a list of deleted files and subfolders, but there is no way to see the files in the subfolders. So, if you want to restore ONLY a single file in a subfolder of the deleted, it seems there is no way to do it. You can only restore the entire sub.folder, which is not necessarily what you want, especially if you filled out the application parent with other files and subfolders after the deletion.

Is there a way to restore a SINGLE FILE in a folder deleted from the Recycle Bin?

Another method would be to drag the folder to the Recycle Bin on your desktop. Open it and recover the files required - re - delete the folder.

@ Palcouk... you can actually retrieve files deleted, even when they are home to recycle the locker to restore a previous version of the folder parent; These come available restore points so not always guaranteed, but he made the most of the time if action is taken quickly enough. :) Ric

Looks like you have your entire music library in your basket and you want to return whence they came. This step of the following article should help you to do:

OS X Yosemite: delete files and folders

If you change your mind before you empty the trash

  • Preview does not release the PDF files in the Recycle Bin.

After review of any PDF in preview, and then move it to the trash, the file may not be emptied from the Recycle Bin without having to restart the computer.

Anyway do preview release the file without having to restart the computer?

Select the file and use the Command + Option + Deletekeyboard shortcut.  You will get this window:

Click Delete Deletes the file.  The file can be anywhere on the disk hard to make it work.  It doesn't have to be in the trash.

If you have an IMAP account, go to Mail/preferences/accounts/box mailbox behaviors and make sure that the store deleted messages on the server is not checked. If this is the case, uncheck the box and see if you can remove the trash.

If that is not working, go to Mail/trash, select an e-mail message and then control - click/Delete. Does it work?
