Files in disk cleanup / temporary

Why when I do disk cleanup I still in temporary files, numbers and I can't get them cleared out, what should I do to solve this problem the number reached 100 at the same time now it to 912kb. Could someone help me with this problem please
Thank you

Hi chevyvett,

Instead of using disk cleanup, I suggest you try instead of third-party software. My recommendation would be to CCleaner (this software is free) www.ccleaner.com.

I have to admit that I rarely use disk cleaner or, in this case, Internet Explorer options to delete temporary internet files and cookies. CCleaner is the only software that I use to delete these files. Select Start, all programs, accessories, System Tools, cleaning disk to emptying your trash, delete temporary Internet files and other selected options. I recommend also you click Other Options, System Restore and delete all but the last system restore point. Run Disk Defragmenter.

Using the system restore option is most appropriate when your system is slow and you need to increase the free disk space on your C partition. If you have errors that could be solved by using the system restore to your system settings back to before the error occurred initially do not use this option.

If more than one person uses the computer and they have their own user log you need to run Disk Cleanup in each user profile that you want to delete all the unwanted files.

A better program of disk cleanup is cCleaner. Delete System Restore points may be important if you have little free disk space. The ability to delete them is one of the tools options. You can selectively remove those created in less important moments.

cCleaner comes with a registry tool. Do not use this tool as any registry cleaner could lead to the creation of very difficult to resolve system errors.

With "Disk Cleanup" on my old XP you first identified what was not necessary, then clicked on OK and then click YES if you want to "perform these actions."

We recently bought a new computer with Windows 8.

Disk Cleanup is anything but after 'OK', you will be asked if you want to "permanently delete these files. Without thinking, it's that I did.

Now I'm in a panic. I remember only one of these files... ». Windows Defender' but there is others.   I did something catastrophic?

    That are safe to delete?

They are all still safe to delete.  None of them are needed at all.  Many will come when necessary (including the reconstruction of the thumbnails of the photo folders).  Click on one to see a full description of what is in the description below it.

While these can save disk space, do not forget that some of them may be better and let your computer run faster. For example, these tiles allow a quick view of your folders. If delete you it, your computer will lag while the thumbnails are rebuilt at the next time. Similar impacts with some temporary files.

  • Disk Cleanup stalling on temporary files for more than 3 hours and eat memory!

So, whenever I checked my C drive I get different numbers on how much space is left. I deleted 45 GB (sent to remove trash and Perm.) data I didn't need and I always as much as before, if not less. I then tried to run the disk cleanup for that drive and it keeps blocking on "files temporary scanning", which since more than 3 h and no other programs other than windows base and Trend Micro are running and system keeps using more memory. EX: below

    RAM used: 3.1GB/4.0GB

cache in the processor (i5): 4.2mb/7.7mb

CPU usage has been the use of 80-90% during this period

    Frequency Max CPU is 109%

This all started a few days after a windows update.

It is using 25% CPU usage... as to what it is I don't have any idea. I've used it before and it scanned in less than 45 min.

Anyone have any suggestions to correct the program that is not responding?
