Thank you.

Ok. the problem is resolved.

  • Mask for the rounded rectangle?

Hi there, hope someone can guide me on this.

In Photoshop (CS4) on a layer, I have a round-corner rectangle with some effects (gradient, shadow overlay).

It sits on a background that is larger than the rectangle, and that has its own effects on it.

I have several pictures of loans that are standard rectangular (i.e. no round corners). What I want is to have one of these images appear inside and completely fill the round corner rectangle, I guess from a mask any? Whereas if I change the size of the round corner rectangle, it shows just more (or less) image behind her, but is not spread outside the limits of the round corner rectangle.

I hope I could describe it effectively - the forum is currently not allow attachments image :-(

Thank you in advance for help with this.

You can do this by making a rectangle shape layer to rounded corners (form 1)

and then put your picture in a layer (Layer 1) above the shape layer.

With Layer 1 still in activity, go to layer > create clipping mask.

You can then change the blending mode of the gradient overlay in the overlay.

Then with the active shape layer, resize your rectangle to your liking.

  • Problems with printing machine

    Hello

I work for a company that prints the patterns on the cans (cans/boxes metal). My job is to establish patterns, whereas a machine can print. In general, I get a model that shows where the boxes should be placed, and I repeat the pattern for each of them. However, this is complicated because many reasons need white paint underneath to look as they should. Moreover, I have a lot of instructions on how to make it work:

-On white paint tasks must have a color according to color chart. A color white color CMYK, task, namely cited 'Spot 1'

-White areas should be "Overprint Fill" active

-These white spots should be placed on TOP, above the ground

However, apart from that, each time it has worked or not seemed completely random. Then someone send me a document with instructions on how it worked. Normally, I worked with Adobe Illustrator, but the instructions were made to Adobe InDesign. They were identical, with the exception of 2 differences:

    (1) in InDesign, I had to define the forms myself, I couldn't paste them in Illustrator. I could use the grounds themselves in PDF format, but if I tried to take a pattern and give it the color of the shade, it transformed into a rectangle. So I had to use forms of InDesign

    (2) the instructions also required 'Spot 1' should not be defined as white, but rather of Magenta (0,100,0,0 in CMYK mode)

And no matter what, this still works, and the company tell me to use this method, HOWEVER, I know for some that not all assignments were simple white background that are rectangular, round, or things like that. Some have very specific shapes, which I will never be able to reproduce quickly in InDesign, it's why I prefer really work in Illustrator. I went to Illustrator and repeated all the steps of the it, and even to make sure that the results would be identical to those of Indesign, I'm here, imported the file and click on "Overview of overprinting," which showed the pattern in a magenta color tint (who have said the instructions is how it should be. It was indeed, but when it was printed, this resulted in only this magenta tinted color.

I am at my end. The company is angry with me for every failure, so I might as well use InDesign, but I need to know these problems are coming from. I want to know why pdf from InDesign files don't cause problems, so that the Illustrator ones.

And if really InDesign to be what I'm going to have to use, so I need to know if there is a way to import a vector shape custom that I could assign a color of the shade, so that everything would work smooth?

If Illustrator would be the place to do it, then why the printer has these problems doing?

Thank you very much for your help!

I do not know why you can not copy a form of Illustrator and paste it into InDesign. It works very well.

  • printing with custom legacy font (.) A3L)

    Hello world

I stumbled upon an old DOS application, EMS, used for the old PLC program logic. Logic is a function block so there are lines and boxes.

The application comes with a police A3L custom suffix. There is also autodl.exe to load fonts in the printer. I'm running it in virtual environment of Windows 98. I don't have any 'real' LPT or HP Laserjet series 2, so the autodl.exe gives an error. When I try to print with a standard font with a virtual PDF printer, all I get is a page with several strings (e.g. * c7a143b0P) placed one above the other, sometimes of 20 of them in a pile.

Is there no workaround solution that would allow me to print something through the use of police made custom?

When I open the file of police with Notepad, I see it's a file copyrighted by HP since 1986. Yes, 1986! Some real old school.

    Thanks for any help.

I have no idea of the answer, just a few comments:

    • The * c7a143b0P sequence (which will be almost certainly preceded by a (non-graphical) control code character resembles a PCL escape sequence , whose meaning is:)

    • This is part of your comment about «I have not...» Printer HP Laserjet series 2", which is a printer PCL 4 .
    • Then you will not be able to "print" to a PDF printer, PDF being nothing like PCL.

I'm using Adobe CS4. I have a funny problem with my tools rectangle. Whenever I use it to create a shape rectangular, default it draws a rectangular shape which was turned at 45 degrees. It will just pull all rectangular right. The case even if I shoot rectangular rounded.

  • How to specify a form to fill out the field round the text and aligned to bottom

I have a few form fields that may have contained long, but have an introductory text. I would like that the entered content to wrap around this text, as shown in the image below:

The content is updated automatically, not entered by someone, so what allows Rich Text and defining the formatting in the input block are not an option. I see two possibilities for this:

    1. A unique field that has a hanging indent on the first line that's enough to avoid the introductory text;
    2. Two separate fields configured so that the text overflows from one to the other.

I was not able to understand how to do either of those. In this case, I see the additional ability to adjust the left edge of a multiline field for being to the right of the introductory text, but I have other scenarios where this text is well more than half of the line, in this case the solution is not feasible.

I also need to have the text in a multi-line field position on the bottom line and that more text is added, the current text moves upward and the overflow fills below, remain bottom line:

    but

If anyone has a solution or any of these problems, or another thought, I would be very happy to hear about them.

    Thank you

    Dan

As you found, there is no possible negative indent and substantive alignment is available with fields that allow rich text formatting. A new conception of form layout that works with the limits of the text fields is how I would approach it, but I know that's not always possible.

  • Rounded corners using the rectangular selection tool

    Hello

Being new Photosop CS3, I used the tool of rectangle Rect (RMT) and saw that my corners are rounded (round/nets) and the bottom of the box is mixed. Is there a way to reset the RMT while I have square corners and no mixing. Also, in time, I would like to have my RMT do so, how can I have rounded corners. (Of course, I did something)

    Thank you

In the Options bar at the top, set the feather to zero.

You can always add feathers to the time where you want.

Or use the form if you want more control. Draw a path with it and convert the path to a selection.

Don't know what I'm doing wrong. The icon says Firefox under him, but it looks more like an external hard drive icon, so I know this isn't the Firefox icon that goes in my Application folder.

Make sure that Firefox is installed correctly.

Open the DMG file and drag the Firefox program in the folder of the application on your hard drive.

You should not double-click the Firefox application to run from the disk image and drag it out of the DMG file instead.

  • Cannot delete the rectangle / cannot recolorize filling CS3

    Hello

I created a rectangle rounded by a line (first layer) and I, select it and click on delete, it does not remove.

I also tried dragging the layer in the tray to remove, but the summer is not get it!

Also, I want to know how to change the color of a rectangle after that you created.

    Thank you

    mballom3 wrote:

For some strange reason, this does not on my side!

If your background is locked, the rectangle will fill with the background color you set in your color swatch on the toolbar when you press DELETE.

If you have set with the fill pixel option, the fastest way if you don't need the white background would be to start with a transparent background.

This will give you a transparent background that is unlocked. If you do not need the white background, create a new empty layer and use the rounded rectangle tool to drag your shape on this new layer.

If the rectangle is applied to a transparent layer, you can ctrl-click on the layer thumbnail in the layers palette to select this option. There are many ways to recolor. If you want just a solid color fill, you can try to use the paint bucket to fill with the foreground color selection in your Toolbox. It is certainly not the only way to recolor the rectangle that is just one of many. (Alternatively, you can lock the transparency of the rectangular layer in the layers palette and just empty the bucket without having to select. (See below.)

Personally, I prefer to use the shape layers option. This option creates its own layer using color is defined in the options bar providing it is not a game of style in the options bar. If I change my mind after dragging the form, I can change by double-clicking on the thumbnail of the shape in the palette of the layer that shows the color picker. More importantly, I can resize or change the shape without him degrading... get soft. If I need to make pixel based to apply a filter or something else, I can do a right click on the name of the shape layer in the layers palette and select "Rasterize layer"
