  There is no automated tool that allows you to convert the reports in OBIEE. You must enter the SQL code generated behind the reports and the design schema star/snowflake to the RPD and build your MDB layer and the layer of presentation accordingly. You will then use the domain create reports to replicate that exist.

  Automation would have made life easier, but since it does not exist in the present, you have everything in OBIEE manually build from scratch.

• Creating complex filters in OBIEE

  Hi gurus,
  
  Can you pls explain me how to create complex filters in OBIEE.
  I know simply by pressing Ctrl + column to get filters added to the list of filters.
  I want a filter with great affection as
  
  (one is not eaual to 'a value'
  or
  b is in the range of "certain scope")
  and
  c is less than or equal to a value
  
  Basically, I want to learn how to join filters with or condition and how to create nested filters

  After adding the second filter click on the AND it will change to OR, when you add the third filter (or filter more) you have the ability to group filter
  You can change the grouping based on your needs.

  In your case, add first three filters, now click on the first, AND he's going to do.

• Can message 'No result' and filters to OBIEE - we change this?

  OBIEE default behavior when no data is returned for a given query should display the message "No Results" and a list of used filters (if any) for the criteria.

• Implementation of the writeback filters in OBIEE

  Hi people,
  
  My Client came with a condition in which the writeback has been applied in OBIEE 11 g reports. We have completed the writeback for the text boxes in which you can write and even is is inserted in the reports. Problem is that we want to insert the value of the filter selected in the database as well. For example if there are few options in a list drop-down filter and a user selects one of them. The value of this filter must be written in the comic book. Can someone help me on this please?

  Let me visualize what you say first.

  Report

  Some of the columns column Writeback

  And you want to update the values 1 filter, filter 2, 3 filter, filter 4 and TextBox value in your database, right?

  If this is the case, then simply add filter them the columns in your report. Your report will look like:

  Report

  Filter filter column 1 column 2 column 3 column 4 filter filter some writeback column column

  And then you can have the following update stmt in your xml to writeback:

  Update table set databasecolumn 1 = @1, 2 = @2 databasecolumn, databasecolumn 3 = @3, 4 = @4 databasecolumn, databasecolumn n = @n where ;

• Error Reportting OBIEE

  Hi gurus,
  
  When I am tring to run a report, I get following error. I use Obiee 10 g. Could you please suggest me here. What to do to see the data.
  I am not able to see performance data.after much time report throws the following error.
  
  Error codes: OPR4ONWY:U9IM8TAC:OI2DL65P
  State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error occurred. [nQSError: 46017] Sort has no work space in the working directory. [nQSError: 46103] Sorter failed compress the result. The compressed result is more than four gigabytes, please specify the query (HY000)

  Sorry for the late response.

  Note: Get before this change please take the backup file Nqsconfig.ini.

  By default:

  WORK_DIRECTORY_PATHS = "C:\OracleBIData\tmp";
  SORT_MEMORY_SIZE = 4 MB;
  SORT_BUFFER_INCREMENT_SIZE = 256 KB;
  VIRTUAL_TABLE_PAGE_SIZE = 128 KB;

  After change:

  WORK_DIRECTORY_PATHS = "D:\OracleBIData\tmp";
  SORT_MEMORY_SIZE = 8MB;
  SORT_BUFFER_INCREMENT_SIZE = 512KB;
  VIRTUAL_TABLE_PAGE_SIZE = 128 KB;

  Ask the person admin to modify the nqsconfig file as mentioned above. Please change as mention above and check the weather, that it works or not...

  The will of problem occurred twice.

  1. set the size of the full memory
  2. If you pull on the columns in the report from multiple sources.

• Report OBIEE reformulating Presentation Services in 10g

  Hi all
  
  I have a report that has about 10 columns drawn inside Dimensions as well as the fact table. Whenever I run this report, its automatically restart presentation services. When I check the query generated by the report and that you run this query, it takes 6 seconds to execute. I get 158 records for the query.
  I am not able to find any reason behind revive presentation Services.

  When XMLs are corrupt... you face this problem.
  Instead of trying to run the report registered... try to create a new report from scratch and also try to create reports in stages, i.e. using 3-4 passes at the start, then applying more closed with some filters as well. Also, what you the size of data? You can also try defining a fact implicit in RPD?

• OBIEE 11.1.1.7 have reported "no data found" on data table columns

  Creates a data source jdbc using the 'Manage the Sources of private data' button, then a model of data using this data source and some sql codes.  Sample recorded data.  Trying to create reports OBIEE, but when I drag the columns on the data model, they appear in the table of data as any data found: / COLUMN_PATH

  When I try to run reports, they end up error, does not display any data.

  If I use BI Publisher reports on this data model, those that work very well.

  Any ideas on what's going on?

  OBIEE reports on BI Publisher data model? Impossible!

  I can't imagine even where you have found a way to create an analysis using a BI Publisher data model as a source.

  BI Publisher reports against BI Publisher data model works very well = this is the expected behavior.

  What/where/how do you do your analysis OBIEE?

  need help to solve a problem with the dynamic selection of images for reports OBIEE 11 g.
  For OBIEE 10 g, it works perfectly - put images in

  Directory and enter edit the column formula (in the answers) of the expression:

  and selecting

  that seems to be OK...
  
  The netstat command response confuses me much since I found (and also of external) record for TCP Local address (should be < IP localhost >: 9704), which lead me to the point that, probably one of the OBIEE 11 g services not started OR I made a mistake during installation of OBIEE 11 g, although the system did not send a message about this possibility. BTW, the BI Publisher on this machine works correctly.
  
  So, kindly ask support or advice on this subject. Thank you

  Not able to open the IAM blog you referred to above.

  Make sure that you have deployed the analyticsRes component as shown in http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/fmw/bi/bi1113/customizing_obiee11g/customizing_obiee11g.htm. Create a folder called produced under analyticsres and start accessing images.

• Report of 2 different areas of 2 cubesAWM in obiee 11g

  Can we create a report by using two different disciplines that are created in two different cubes OBIEE administration tool in the same RPD?

  From the point of view report, OBIEE allows you to create a report of two areas.

  But being the OLAP source data, a better approach will be to "bring together" the cubes in AWM using calculated measures.

  Lets say a dimensionality DIM1, DIM2, DIM3, DIM4 CUBE1
  and CUBE2 has dimensionality DIM1, DIM2, DIM5, 6

  Create a new cube (lets call it RPT_CUBE) dimensionality DIM1, DIM2, DIM3, DIM4, DIM5, 6
  This cube will have all the STORED measures.
  It will only have calculated the measures which are necessary for the declaration.

  In OBIEE, you should import (then use) only RPT_CUBE. No need to expose and use CUBE1, CUBE2 OBIEE.

  It is one of the best practices for OBIEE - OLAP reports.

• OBIEE 11g - the session variable, NQ_SESSION. VARIABLE, has no definition of value

  I see a strange problem when using the SESSION variable in OBIEE 11 g SPR for the level of data security.

  The RPD, I created a new block with the PRODUCT session variable init and wise initialization line is defined.

  SQL -SELECT DISTINCT 'PRODUCT', product_id OF BI_SECURITY WHERE UPPER (USER_ID) is UPPER(':USER')

  Condition of data filter is defined on the tables & Dimension in the application role

  Filter data based on products assigned to the user in the security table is applied.

  User A has produced 15 assigned ID

  User B has 100 product ID assigned

  The user was able to connect to the presentation of OBIEE and see assigned product ID are filtered in the report.

  But when a user B signs he sees below error, when you run the same report

  [nQSError: 23006] The session variable, NQ_SESSION. PRODUCT, has no value definition

  Is there a limit on the number of values in session variable can contain.

  Why the error occurs only for user B?

  Has anyone encountered this problem?

  We found there is nothing in the list of the product id is assigned to user B, so report OBIEE failed with [nQSError: 23006]

  Adding a NULL value is NOT fixed INIT SQL block this problem with access from user B.

• Problem faced in OBIEE 11 g

  Hi all
  I have an exclusive requirement of the customer. I try to explain it in simple terms. Suppose that I have a dashboard with a prompt of dashboard ( multiple selection box ). The prompt values are guess "bag", "umbrella", "pen", "pencil" and "shoe". Now, a user ( LDAP user ) named Robert connects for the first time and selects 'bag' & 'pencil' in the prompt checkbox in the dashboard page, and opinions the filtered report.
  
  Now need that whenever Robert second connection has from time, in the dashboard page he will see the filtered report that he put in a first time (i.e. he sees the report where 'bag' & 'pencil' is already checked in the fast section of Scorecard ). Is this possible with OBIEE 11 g? Anyone tried something like this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

  Yes, you can configure the guests of dashboard according to your need and save them as customizations. Thus, whenever a user wants to run the reports with this filter criterion, we simply operate this customization. • Activity report of PC showing use 24 hours a day

  I'm administrator of my son with Windows 7 PC. I set parental control for hours limited to 4 per day, between 4-8 pm. However, his report shows 24 hours some days, which is impossible because the computer is unplugged and in full view as limited. What is the solution?

• OBIEE 11 g gauge empty

  Version -Oracle Business Intelligence Product Version 11.1.1.7.150120 (150111.1659 64-bit Build)

  Our report OBIEE gauge is empty all of a sudden with the same threshold/formulas as in the dev environment.

  I checked all the formulas. Everything is exactly the same in dev/uat. What could be the reasons for the gauge UAT empty?
