find missing images

my photos simply disappeared in the air thin no matter where I look at I can't find. I searched for the files and still can't find them. For most people they would probly move, but those pictures mean so much to me. As an artist with their art. These photos are a part of me and my work. I can't lose these pictures. Any help would be greatly appreciated

How can I find out which catalog a missing image belongs to?

Beat a dead horse... Whenever I need "missing images", in LR4.2, I can't access it, even if I'm looking to the right of the location that they presntly occupy thye picture was ALREADY in a CATALOG OTHER.

HOW frustrating it is... going on 8 months now. But I need pictures and I guess I could just go back and 10,000 images that are missing in my collections to reprocess but I tried a lot of solutions offered in the months that are just not practical.

So now, I want to approach this thing from the other direction...

If Let's say a single image is already associated with another catalog which houses this collection, (and the collection is important because there changes), I want to go instead of this catalogue.

    How can I do this?

    Any ideas?

Now, I see the video. AFAICT the message, it's not telling you that the image concerned is also imported into another catalog. You say that you already have an image version different within this current catalog, which already makes reference to the same physical file, you're trying to re - adjust the offline image to.

This duplicate version is (I'm 90% sure) the result of a re - import at some point after you have transferred the data in the new computer. The proof will be if the two folder/drive locations appear in the records of LR.

Say there is an [X] image that becomes an orphan, because the location of its source [A] file is no longer available.

As has been explained, the right solution is to update the location information - it is easier to do in the record IMO, or a whole folder, instead of an image - tree so that the image [X] beyond knows to use the location [B] instead of [A] location. Incidentally, this means [A] record disappears from the list of files to LR and folder [B] appears here.

However the situation is badly knotted up so instead to the foregoing, the [B] file is imported as fresh images, creating a new and separate image [are] pointing to the same file moved this image [X] used to use in the old location (for example).

[X] is still in all of your Collections already made and has all its changes etc., but (with no now accessible at A location source file) cannot be used.  [There] was all or part x edits, will not be in one of your Collections, but works otherwise - because she doesn't have a working reference to the image file to location B.

If you now try to redirect Web image [X] notebook file B, Lightroom rightly complains: ' you already have image [is] referring to this file!

So if you delete these (I guess, superfluous) additional imports of LR - the backup catalog first and do NOT choose Remove them the disc! -LR will no longer have any reason to block you re - treating your images established and thus put online.

I wonder if referring to pictures only through Collections (as in the video), one would tend to miss what's going on with these physical folder locations? It may be useful (even if you do not pay much attention to the location of the files, otherwise as LR allows rightly) - to select "Go to folder in the library" against a given image, for repairs in such cases.

  • Find missing files does not work - what don't get me?

I have had my photos stored on an external hard drive and upgraded to a bigger external drive. My husband has copied the files to the new drive. Now I can't access photos on the drive. I followed the steps to update the location of the pictures, but it does not work. I tried "find lack of pictures" and that does not work either. I follow the steps, but nothing happens.

What I am doing wrong? I suspect, I'm missing a simple step, but I tried several times with both drives. I restarted LR. I restarted the computer. Nothing makes no difference.

Thanks for any help or someone can give advice.

    Hi nannetter,

Please connect the new external drive that contains all of the images, now open Lightroom and on the Library tab, update the location of the folder.

    See the link below.

  • Missing images in the history of license

I was looking for a specific image because I can not find my local copy - so I tried to download it again. I went to my history of license and discovered that several of the images I have a license are absent from the story - including the one I'm looking for. The license is a standard license, but my understanding of the license, is that they expire. How can I get the missing images? TIA

    Hello

Could you please provide the number of the image of those that you think are missing.

You've used 28 licenses and have 22 available.

    Kind regards

  • Moved Lightroom 5 catalog Previews.lrdata file on hard drive external now missing Images! Help!

    Hi all

Help, please.  To try to free up space on my MBP with 128 GB SSD, I moved the file 'Lightroom' of my 'Images' folder to my DHM.  When I open LR could not find all the pictures, so I moved the file to my MBP and back in the folder "Images".  Only problem is now there is a charge of missing images last year.  I have all my CR2 files on my DHM so, luckily, I still have the physical copies of the originals, but all my changes disappeared.  I spent dozens and dozens of hours editing family shots and other photographs and I'm very nervous that I may have just lost all?

    Please please help...

    Thank you...

I can't answer the question about missing images. However, after you move the Lightroom for the EHD folder you open that folder and double-click the catalog file in its new location. After that, if you have preferences in Lightroom configurΘ for the most recent dΘmarrer Lightroom Catalog use the catalog located on the EHD.

  • Import out hardrive - missing images

I run MAC & have lightroom CC.

I stored a wedding on my hardrive RAW files, when double checking the folder in lightroom, I realized that I miss now about 50 cases who do not import. I went to import the missing files off the coast of the hardrive, dragging on import.

It's now show this, say that there are no files.

Y at - it something I am doing wrong? I'm still learning lightroom, but I've never met this error before.

Thank you in advance to anyone who can know what is happening!

    Hi kimberlynf,

If images are missing after import in Lightroom and showing gray-out, you can follow the link below for re - locate the missing images in Lightroom.

How to find missing photos in Photoshop Lightroom

In addition, if you looking to re - import all the images again and they are showing gray-out on the window import, then you should uncheck the "do not import suspected duplicates" option in the file management menu.

Let us know if that helps.

  • Why FrameMaker can not find an image when I change of location of the work?

I have several books located in a system directory that contains multiple images.  Some images are therefore repeated in books, I have a place (another directory of system) where I import as required in each book.  Asked me to move these books of the directory system to my local hardrive.   I have copied all books, files, etc., the image exactly as they were in the new location on my hardrive in the system directory.  When I open the books in the new location on my hardrive, FrameMaker is unable to locate these images and I get an error screen, and the missing file dialog box.   When I import images I always select copy in the document - I wonder why FrameMaker is unable to find the image even if the directory structure has been copied exactly and also because I copied the image - I does refer to them?    I've attached a screenshot of the missing file error I get.missing file screen.png

    > I copied all the books, etc., the image exactly files as they were in the new location of the directory of system...

Open them to the old location (source) and the re - save to the new location. FM update paths when you do this.

    What platform are you on?

Are missing imports in the same directory?

UNIX FM is bad on learning new ways. FM of Windows seem to learn.

But if by import paths vary, the platform will not matter much.

  • Help (LR3)! Catalog of all the missing image files

    LR3 (using Windows 7):

All of a sudden none of my image files are linked to the catalog; + 14 000 of them. The catalog is on an external, backup hard drive on my internal hard drive. The catalog seems intact. The most recent image files are on my internal hard drive, but most are on an external hard drive. All drives are connected and I can navigate to any file I want. But the catalog cannot find files, even if nothing has been moved. When I click on 'find missing files', 14 000 + question rated Previews appear. None are related to image files.

In addition, when I have to 'find' a group of lack of files on the drive, through the library module, then all of a sudden these images disappear from the preview and the number of images in the catalog (the number in brackets) is diminished by this number. I am at a total loss.

Background: I had not used LR for a few days. I recently installed Google Earth and apparently with her a number other applications that I didn't. So I went to my tools for the administrator and "restored" my system to a previous state, just three days ago. I "restored" before with no ill effects. It was after that when I open LR, disconnection of catalog/image was obvious. I don't know if you disconnect that existed before my 'restore' or whether it might have been triggered by it.

    Any ideas?

It turns out that - somehow - the letter assigned to the external hard drive has changed. Once I have it changed back (as an administrator), all was good with the new world. (Just need to do a little extra cleaning.)

Aside: How on earth does something like that happen, that a drive can pass letters?

  • Update/Find missing * drive * query

    Good day to you all

I'm looking for a way to apply the function "Find Missing folder... "the real disk. Essentially using the drive letter that the 'file' parent synchronize all subfolders and update all the paths of the image.

    The scenario;

I had all my photos on a local disk "W:".

They are now all on a network drive - we'll call this \\NAS\Photos (where photos are the name of the share on the network drive)

I can manually cross records 'disappeared' w: in the left pane of the library and 'Find Missing files..' at the same time. This method works.

However, I have about 100 cases so it is very time consuming.

The folder structure is exactly the same thing, what I would do is update the path in the CAR so I can keep all of your changes to LR.

    Any ideas?

    TIA

So what exactly are you doing... are you trying to recreate a link to one of the missing files to the folder parent on the NAS Server? What is the parent folder showing in the files Panel in the Lightroom library module? If this is the case, it is the folder you need to re-edit the equivalent parent on the NAS.

If, however, the parent folder is NOT displayed in the files Panel, then right-click on any of the 'missing' files and select "Show Parent Folder"... which should add the folder parent in the folders Panel, so that you can then republish with a single command 'Find the missing folder' (the ability to display a parent folder for missing files is a new feature in LR4 you could not do in earlier versions).

  • Lightroom 3 can not find my Images

I use several external hard drives for my images and sometimes they are transferred to another folder or on another hard drive.  When this happens, Lightroom can't find the image so I go to the image at its new location and Lightroom detects it and all its neighbours.  Who worked a lot in Lightroom 2, but does not at all in Lightroom 3.  I can't change the original file folder structure at all.  Lightroom cannot find the image, even if I'm clicking on it.  So I try to click a little harder and finally start pounding on the keyboard and shouting at Lightroom, "it's here!  Any suggestions or bug in this regard knowledge?

  • In the case of Facebook I control-click on Add Image to Photos, where Photos can I find the image being added?

On Facebook I Ctrl-click on a photo and then choose picture add pictures on the shortcut menu.  Subsequently, photos where I can find the image added?  Is there a systematic way?

Sometimes, images from Facebook are added at the end of my table of Photos.  This table is always keep sort by oldest first.  However, some images from Facebook appear to come from the previous dates.  At least one, I found a photo added to Facebook in the middle of a time at which the additional picture has nothing to do.  My guess is the added photo's date time whereby it sorts here and pictures imported, nor others currently have location data.  If any location data would show that the imported photo was not present.

I imported several other photos from Facebook, which I can't find.  I think I checked the album last import and did not find them here.  I suspect they have dates, which I do not know, and causing them to be placed somewhere other than the end of my library.

How can I find the imported photos from Facebook?

When you see a photo in Safari and ctrl + click or right-click, then use "Add photo", it will be added to the photo library without appearing in "last import.  It goes the same for adding photos of Mail in this way.

But you can find the album "AllPhotos".  All new photos added this way should appear at the bottom of all the pictures, because this album is sorted by the date of the import session.

If you see the photo added in the last import, control-click it or right click and select 'display in the Moment '.  This way you can find at the moment, it has been added to.

  • Equium L40 - Updated Winflash "can not find BIOS Image here"

I downloaded the latest BIOS update for my laptop. When I extracted the folder and ran the Winflash.exe, it brings me to a window asking me to open the so-called "Fill bios image here." in My Documents. When I click on open, then says Can not find the image of the BIOS: bios C:\Users\Max\Documents\Fill picture here.
Can anyone help? None of this is mentioned in the guide to update BIOS on the site and I need this update of the BIOS. Thank you!

    Hello

First of all after you download the update of the BIOS, you will need to decompress.
In my case, I unzipped the BIOS to the C:\ (System partition)

    Then run the file WinFlash.exe.
If the BIOS update would not start then try with the file UpdateBIOS.bat

But note; do not forget that you have downloaded the right version of the BIOS for the right laptop model

  • Missing images IMAQ, parallel

Hello, I use Gigabit Ehternet camera and after grabbing an image I get models and cut (always two models cut). So I have to small fragments of image caught (left square, Ellipse of left, right square, Ellipse on the right). For the moment I deal only with the Ellipses. Left and right Ellipse are placed as a WhichType.vi entry and subsequently GrainDecision.vi. If I only use one instance of WhichType everything is ok, and I have all of the missing images in ResultGrainLeft or to the right. But if I put two vi's, like on description.jpg, sometimes there are missing images in the indicators of IMAQImage or something's wrong with them (both the same images or something like added random images), but there are no errors and score changes. Any ideas what may be wrong in GrainDecision.vi?

    Karol

    Karol,

The problem is in the GrainDecision.vi and the constants that you pass to IMAQ create. The images are unique by a name, and if an image with the name of entry has already been created, it is the image that will be returned. Two calls to IMAQ create with the same input will create only a single image, regardless of the context in which it was admitted. Each instance of GrainDecision.vi will use the same thresholdGrain, SubDstGrain, images etc. I also recommend not to use images useless temporary destination. In general, you can leave the destination unwired image and the source image will be altered. You can probably eliminate 3-5 of these calls IMAQ create in GrainDecision.vi and your memory footprint and get a small speed improvement
