Firefix shows tabs from a previous session despite the sealing to the Home Page or blank Page

When I first start Firefox (31.0), all the previous browsing session tabs are displayed. If you have a few news sites such as home pages, then you get yesterdays new shown to you.

I tried to go options and the setting for "when Firefox starts:" is set to "show my home page". I tried to adjust to "Show a blank page" but it makes no difference, I still get the tabs that were open when I closed the browser.

From Firefox in safe mode makes no difference - I still get the legs of the previous browsing session. I have not recently added additional modules.

How to get back control how Firefox start?

You can check if you have a user.js file in the Firefox profile folder that affects the pref browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once true value.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder currently in use:

  • Help > troubleshooting information > profile directory: see file (Linux: open the directory;) Mac: View in the Finder)

    In rare cases, an update may fail completely replace the old files of version with the new version of the files in the program folder. This can lead to a range of inexplicable failure. Another explanation is available, could you answer that using:

    Clean reinstall it

    We use this name, but it isn't about deleting your settings, this is to ensure that the program, files are clean (not incompatible, corrupt or exotic code files). As described below, this process does not disrupt your existing settings. Don't uninstall NOT Firefox, that does not need.

    (1) download a fresh Installer for Firefox 39.0 of https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ in an ideal location. (Scroll down your preferred language).

    (2) close Firefox (if applicable).

    (3) to rename the program folder, either:

    (Windows 64-bit folder names)

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox

    TO

    C:\Program Files (x86)\OldFirefox

    (Windows 32-bit folder names)

    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox

    TO

    C:\Program Files\OldFirefox

    (4) run the installer you downloaded in the #1. It should automatically connect to your existing settings.

    No improvement after this reinstall?

    Note: Some plugins can only exist in this OldFirefox file. If it is missing something essential, present in these files:

    • \OldFirefox\Plugins
    • \OldFirefox\browser\plugins
  • When Firefox starts, my last pinned tab focus by default, instead of the home page.

    Something I have observed since at least for now it is as if I have more than one pinned tab, and I close Firefox and start it again (it's designed to open my default home page), my "targeted" default tab is the tab to the right. If I have a pinned tab, the homepage is door as it should.

    I tried from Firefox with a - safe-mode and got the same result, from a new profile however did not seem to see the problem, so my problem is limited to this profile (but at the same time, has nothing to do with my extensions).

    I remember not to make any changes to the browser by myself (I'm careful about this, so I'm sure that on this topic). Whatever the problem is, it has crept in also.

    I tried to reset slightly changed to the topic: entries in config I have, but have had no solution and it's a minor annoyance, but it leads me into the wall because if I have a home page, I expect to be open when I start the browser!

    Problem seems to have been set on update to Firefox 16 beta 2.

    I can't get the tabs of the previous session of the return when I reopen it Firefox. I tried closing with 'Close' header of Firefox window, but also 'Quit' in the file Menu. Note that "Restoration of previous Session" on my Menu history is grayed out so I can't use it. In addition, there is no tab at the top of my window to open Firefox Firefox - only a menu bar that shows "File", "Edit", "View", "History", "Favorites", "Tools" and "Help". 26 of Firefox does not load the home page. Instead, it load the previous session, regardless of what has been entered in 'Options '. The browser runs in Win 7.0 64 bit; Norton Internet Suite 21 provides security features. There are some solutions 'cloud', also running as Google Drive, box, Skydrive and Cubby. The browser behaves in the same way in all my machines (installation and the OS is similar to that described above) and no amount of reset 'Options' seems to affect it. Nor is it affected by the way that Firefox is closed. This is obviously a bug that should be fixed.

    The user.js file will be present if you or a other software created this file and normally will not present.
    The user.js file is read whenever Firefox is started and initializes the preferences to the specified value in this file, so the preferences set via user.js can be changed temporarily for the current session.

    You can remove the user.js file if you do not create this file yourself.

    You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:

    Windows hides certain default file extensions.
    Among them .html and .ini and .js and .txt, and you can see only a file name without file extension.
    You can check the file extension (type) in the file properties in Windows Explorer via the context menu.

  • Restart the PC under Windows XP, Firefox Sessions restore previous Session, not the last one I closed Firefox on.

    I formatted my PC and re-installed Firefox I saved application data about the configuration of firefox, after having reinstalled everything on pc and install firefox I can see my old tabs from last session, but when I say delete and or to make new tabs and option tools States still show my windows and last time labels , I then restart my pc and when firefox loads again the session is loaded from a former session before the format, I have create new sessions and the Firefox saves when I close and open them but whenever I restart my pc it still load pre format sessions. How can I make normal firefox once again without wiping my application data, passwords and settings and re - install the program? There must be a way.

    You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the profile folder of Firefox that store session data.

    Delete the sessionstore.js file possible sessionstore-# .js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox profile folder.

    Delete sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and tab groups and opened and closed the tabs (back) to get lost, so you will need to create them again (take note or bookmarks).

  • How (really) to stop the tabs from loading at startup until the user clicks.

    I googled. I have read so many answers and tried them all.

    Browser.sessionstore.Restore *.
    Browser.Tabs.Load *.

    None of the related responses actually prevents firefox from loading tabs (home | homepage |) Home page) at startup.

    Then please. As I was five, and in order to preserve for posterity, someone explain how to stop firefox from loading tabs of the homepage automatically at startup. I want to load them when I click on it, or if I close the tab, for not otherwise materially affect the time of start/loan.

    I'm going to mark as resolved to close, but really, I guess I decided it is insoluble. The answer to "How to stop tabs on the home page of loading in the background" is really "why would you do that?

    Mainly, I want to do because I use extra home pages and reminders "view" soon If I bookmark something that he is likely to be forgotten and lost, whereas if I at least see the tab every time I start firefox, I'll deal with it later. I'll have to change this behavior, though, I suppose.

    Browser.sessionstore*-

    My understanding of these parameters after having read the other questions, it's that they don't affect the loading, which were finally open family home page and will be reopened on a new start tabs only if you have firefox set to operate in this way. (Which I did not - if I close a session with 9 tabs, they went and the next start will generate just my home page tabs).

  • Several variables from the session to the login page

    Hey there, I have to point out that I use ASP for several years and am trying to start a transition to PHP. I'm kinda stuck and I don't know that there is a simple solution for this. After a login page, I go to my home page. When you are at the homepage depending on the status you are given i.e. level 1, 2 etc.

    Dreamweaver gives you the code to start a page and I seem to be able to capture the session variable 'MM_Username' on the start page, but in my setup, that's your name. Of course there could be a lot of 'Fred' out there so you need the info from the first name field. How to capture the session password or create a new session for password, so when I'm filtering the session on the page following I can use several variables as what follows must match the user name, password, address, etc?

    In asp is was easy. I started just a session variable capture since the names of the fields username and password. Like this:

    < % session ("NomUtilisateur1") = request ("username") % >

    < % session ("password1") = request ("pass") % >

    My session would be NomUtilisateur1, password1, and I would like to sort out.

    In PHP how would I do a similar thing? Help please!

    Here's the code generated from Dreamweaver.

    <? PHP
    If (! function_exists ("GetSQLValueString")) {}
    function GetSQLValueString ($theValue, $theType, $theDefinedValue = "", $theNotDefinedValue = "")

    To make this work it turned out to be very simple. at the login page, I simply used:

    <>

    This is to set session values.

    $_SESSION ['username'] = $_POST ['username'];

    $_SESSION ['pass_word'] = $_POST ["password"];

    ?>

    After all the code from Dreamweaver to start a totally different pair of sessions.

    On the home page, I made the Recordset like this:

    <>
    If (! function_exists ("GetSQLValueString")) {}
    function GetSQLValueString ($theValue, $theType, $theDefinedValue = "", $theNotDefinedValue = "")
    {
    If (via PHP_VERSION< 6)="">

    $theValue = function_exists ("mysql_real_escape_string")? mysql_real_escape_string ($TheValue): mysql_escape_string ($theValue);

    Switch ($theType) {}

    $theValue = ($theValue! = "")? « " ». $theValue. "" "": "NULL";

    case "set":
    $theValue = ($theValue! = "")? $theDefinedValue: $theNotDefinedValue;

    }
    Return $theValue;
