Firefox 34,05 incorrectly identifies obsolete plugins

From midnight 12/12/14, Firefox started blocking plugins (in this case, Adobe Flash and Java Deployment Toolkit, possibly others that I have just been to websites that use those), saying that they are obsolete. When I click 'Update Now', the page state of the Plugin tells me that all my plugins are up to date. (I'm running Flash 15.0.0.239 and Java Deployment Toolkit 10.71.2.14, for the record.)

I got the point of this feature and I really want to turn permanently on "always allow", but having to click the two guests 'allow' whenever I load a Web site that has Flash is quickly making intolerable web browsing. I'm about to switch to Google Chrome on it.

The 15.0.0.239 was not the last Flash 15 version as15.0.0.242 and older are blocked and vulnerable. The 15.0.0.246 was not affected even if according to Adobe.

The plugin check page must be manually updated version which is said is current can't be said for Flash. Check the version of Flash to http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

For Firefox on Windows, the latest version of Flash player is 16.0.0.235 and the version of support extended 13.0.0.259 to https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html

Chrome (pepper flash) and IE (activex) has versions of flash player are also affected according to the https://helpx.adobe.com/security/products/flash-player/apsb14-27.html

Flash Player Plugin 14.0 to 15.0.0.242 (click-to-play) has been blocked for your protection. https://addons.Mozilla.org/Firefox/blocked/p798

Flash Player Plugin 10.3.183.66 to 13.0.0.258 (click-to-play) has been blocked for your protection. https://addons.Mozilla.org/Firefox/blocked/p794

Flash Player Plugin on Linux 11.2.202.424 and below (click-to-play) has been blocked for your protection. https://addons.Mozilla.org/Firefox/blocked/p796

links of blocklist fixed as Mozilla made a list of two part for Win/Mac versions on December 12 while not9 ESR version block the 13.0.0.25 he stuck to the single list December 11.

  • Firefox 31.3 incorrectly identifies as obsolete Flash plugin

After the update to Firefox 31.3.0 ESR and ESR Flash 13.0.0.259, I get a message out of date, but there is no more recent version of Flash available. Firefox seems to identify the wrong Flash version it is not outdated, he even said there is no update. What is the solution here, is there a way to tell Firefox that the plugin is approved. If so, I need to push this setting from a point of view of GPOS.

Blocking is now updated as they did a block of two parts list as no block 13.0.0.259 but still block 13.0.0.258 and higher.

Firefox 30 spent some less commonly used "Always turned on" plugins "asking to activate. To check and change this to TrueSuite, you can use the page modules. Either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

In the left column, click on Plugins. Then on the right, check the setting on the right side of TrueSuite.

  • Firefox could not download the search plugin from

I installed Firefox 24.0 recently and I am trying to install open www.youtube.com youtube Search Engine by clicking on Add "YouTube Video Search" in the search bar, but I get the following error message:

    Download error
Firefox could not download the search plugin from:
    http://www.YouTube.com/OpenSearch?locale=en_GB

What is a Firefox problem, or a youtube error?

    Thank you for your response.

I don't want to install addon for youtube search. I just wanted to know if I can install the search engine for youtube as before.

After a few readings on the internet I found that the search engine is described by a small XML file which is available through a link on the page. All other pages with operation generates the search engines like Wikipedia or IMDb content is XML refers to XML file. But the link to youtube opensearch descriptor points to an opensearch.osdx file.

I don't know if it's the extension, or if he did not support tag inside but Firefox is not prepared to handle it and add youtube to search engines.

I found this page: http://www.tobtu.com/customsearch.php I copied the relevant tags in the fields of seizure and added YouTube video Srearch. Now, it works fine.

But the question remains: is it Firefox that can not handle the descriptor of opensearch sandard of youtube or youtube.com which provides a defective descriptor?

  • Plugin Checker Firefox reads Adobe Flash Player obsolete, even if the latest version (19.0.0.207) is installed.

I recently installed Adobe Flash Player version 19.0.0.207 to replace the previous version (19.0.0.185). However, when I ran the plugin checker, he says that Flash is outdated, still saying version 19.0.0.185. Then, I went into the menu Add on, you click on the plugins tab, scrolled down to Shockwave Flash and you click on more. He showed two files .dll, NPSWF32_19_0_0_185.dll and NPSWF32_19_0_0_207.dll.
Since the auditor think again that the 19.0.0.185 version is still installed, the plugin check tool reads the outdated Flash Player. There, someone can help me with this situation?

Good news! I closed the browser for a few minutes. Then, I ran again the update checker. This time, he read Flash as up-to-date. The old file, NPSWF32_19_0_0_185.dll, was removed from the list of plugin.

  • Google on Firefox gets my incorrect location (Chrome and Edge are fine)

Since the upgrade to Windows 10, I had some localization issues when using Firefox. When I search something in Google, I get only US results (we are located in the Canada). However, Chrome and Edge both show good Canadian results. I checked the location of my IP address and it shows Toronto (as it always has).

It's only a problem since upgrade to Windows 10. When I was installing Windows 10, I know that I turned off location services because I don't trust Microsoft with any personal information. However, thinking that this might be the cause of my problems, I finally gave in and activated the service return. However, it has not fixed the problem.

I tried to change the settings for Google Privacy policy by clicking on the padlock and setting the access location to 'allow' but which does not have something or the other.

I am at a loss. Firefox has been my main browser for more than a decade, but it's a deal breaker. I am currently working on a SEO project and I need my search results as specific location.

Many Canadian and British users report that Google redirects is more research that Firefox sends to google.com on the local country site. Is that what happens to you, you get results on google.com , instead of google.ca?

I have yet to see no explanation for the change, or any miracle. What I suggest is to install a google.ca- specific search plugin and do as your default.

For example, this page has four options of Google Canada:

    http://mycroftproject.com/Google-search-plugins.html

During the installation, should be offered the opportunity to make the new default search plugin. You can try it for a while and see if you like the results and, if not, you can change your default by using the Options page search section:

"3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > search

  • Where to paste libflashplayer.so 37.02 Firefox (I don't have a plugins directory)

Hello. I just installed Debian 8 and I downloaded Firefox 37.02 (on the format tar.gz), then I downloaded the latest version of Flash Player.
I extracted the files but I don't know where to put the file 'libflashplayer.so' because I do not have a directory named "plugins" in the firefox directory

where should I paste this file?

Thanks, sorry for my bad English

If you are the only user there is a simple place to have your Plugins installed manually this way for Firefox, Thunderbird and SeaMonkey.

in your home search for .mozilla and then create a folder with the name of plugins (all lowercase.

Then you can put the libflashplayer.so in the created folder plugins .

If Firefox was not closed when doing this, then you can restart it or type in topic: plugins (address) for Firefox toolbar look and find it.
