Firefox Add-on - Add-ons must be installed as an administrator?

I usually install applications as administrator and daily work (and the use of applications) using a non-administrator account. It has always been a mystery to me that Firefox must be installed as an administrator or not. I use Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. Thank you.

Firefox extensions are specific to the user. You should install them under the user account that you use for everyday navigation. There should be no need to run Firefox as administrator to install.

  • When you are looking for WeatherFox, I discovered that my bottom bar everything was gone. I can't figure out how to restore. The Add-ons are still installed.

I just noticed this morning that the lower tool, including weatherfox, Hebrew calendar and several other modules, has completely disappeared. Maybe it's a matter of having inadvertently clicked on something one day when do not not paying attention. When I checked under Firefox preferences earlier, I went to < manage add-ons > and saw installed at all the modules have been installed yet. I can't find a way to restore the tool bar display lower.

Having a back-up, I opened the time Machine to see if a previous Firefox homepage included the bottom bar. I don't know if I did not go far enough or if Firefox is somehow the opening to a new default value, involuntary without the lower bar, any distance back I go.

During this time, writing this, I went back to Firefox preferences, and now the General Preferences dialog box is completely ruined, as if the size of the content of this dialog box had grown up, in two dimensions, so it is no longer within the area and parts of it are not available. It is truncated, in other words, as well on the side right and on the bottom. I can isn't even access the section modules. The last visible thing at the bottom of that box is the upper part of the line of text that is displayed as follows: 'Pick your add-ons Preferences.' It's as if someone came with an Exacto and sheared to the lower part of this line of text. And then there is in the lower left corner. Along the right side of the box, under the "Home Page", there are three buttons: use current Pages >, < use a bookmark > and < restore Dfau >, which is the point where the text ends.

What the hell is happening? Now, it's not only a question of restoring the lower bar on my page of Firefox, with display modules, but apparently I need to figure out how to resize the preferences General dialog box, as well. I just checked: other preferences dialog boxes appear to be rising correctly.

I use a Mac PowerBook G4 with Firefox version 3.6.13.

  • Firefox Add - ons in any way interfere with a VPN?

I recently ordered a VPN. Itgood, but has its ups and downs. I asked the same question people VPN Firefox Add-ons. They said that he "may" impede the VPN. Laughing out loud. Nothing says confidence like the word 'power '! It doesn't seem to work perfectly. Here's what I think in very basic terms. The VPN uses encrypted tunnel of . Do Add-ons in fact drag these companies, they block, in the tunnel with the Firefox browser I use? Because the Add-ons are still show the number of companies they are blocked even if I'm in an encrypted tunnel . He looks like the tunnel needs block all businesses before that add-ons a chance to see them. And I have to start all VPN, tunnel, process on my desk before even entering the browser. I know I could start the browser with Add-ons disabled. I don't know if somehow they could work even n or if they work against each other. With or without the Add - ons Firefox remains my main browser! You guys and girls are great! Keep up the good work! Nice day.

Firefox sends the exact same claims, but now, they go through the tunnel.

Don't think that the VPN as a filter, think of it as a carrier.

Instead of thinking of Web sites of your web requests from your home through your internet service provider, websites they will perceive as coming from the location of your VPN service using their internet service provider. If you visit sites that try to guess your location, you should see that they are now guess somewhere completely different. (If the sites stored cookies with your old location, then you probably still will see that.)

With this in mind, it is logical that websites always pull in all the same ads and other things. To prevent that from happening, you will still need the modules.

As to whether they will all work together perfectly, I don't know. Each user creates a unique mix, so there is probably no one in the world who can test it better that you can.

  • Why lightning installed through Firefox Add - ons official was supposed to be unsigned.

When I'm gone on the official Web site of Firefox Add-on (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/seamonkey/addon/lightning/) & tried to install Lightning in Firefox 49.01.1 I received a message that Firefox prevented this site to install an unverified add-on. As a result, I realized that Firefox would not an add-on not verified or not signed to be published on the official website.

As the description says lightning is only for Thunderbird and SeaMonkey (as it is an e-mail client built into the suite) it's a calendar.

    https://addons.Mozilla.org/SeaMonkey/addon/lightning/versions/ Works with SeaMonkey 2, 42-2, 42. *, Thunderbird 45.0 - 45.*

Section for desktop Firefox is https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/ you were in the section of SeaMonkey.

  • Read my version of Firefox Add - ons incorrectly

I just upgraded to Version 7 of Firefox 3.0.11. I wanted to add some add-ons, but the Add-ons page won't let me download any of the new stuff because it says that I'm still in Version 3.0.11. To help title > tab on Firefox, it says that I am, indeed, Version 7.0 and that it's up-to-date.

I tried to restart Firefox and even restart my computer. Also, I have re-downloaded Firefox Version 7. Nothing has worked.

Your string UserAgent in Firefox is probably messed up by another program that you have installed, and it says that you run Firefox 3.0.11.
    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/USER_AGENT

type of topic: config in the URL bar and press ENTER.

If you see the warning, you can confirm that you want to access this page.

    Filter = general.useragent.

Preferences are "BOLD", a line at a time, and then select reset, right click

    Then restart Firefox

  • Slower due to the Firefox Add-ons.

This isn't a specific question, as this is more a general frustration with Firefox. I notice that Firefox is much faster if I turn off modules I have installed over the years. It seems that Firefox gets a bad wrap because some add-ons slow down Firefox. Are there no comparative analysis of the tools available to show before and after the results of the use of an add-on? I use 5 of 19 modules at the moment and the performance is much faster. All this time, I just thought that Firefox sucked while disabling modules leads me to believe that the person in charge of this slowdown is due to an add-on.

In any case, I think that if Mozilla wants to protect their reputation more, comparative analysis tools should be a tool, a user can interact with.

This thread is 12 months old. Mozilla has recently worked on this issue of modules.

Test modules for startup, start with performance performance.

    This extension is now available.

I have not used it myself, so I don't even know what it checks and it's good to find problems with the extension.

The Add-ons page is divided into several categories. As mentioned in ComputerWhiz, who is the most relevant is the category of Extensions.

If you prefer to copy and paste rather than creating a screenshot, you can use the second big box on this page:

    Help > troubleshooting information

    It will look messy, but...

In fact, the button-top "copy text to the Clipboard" - works fine.

  • Firefox does not recognize that I have already installed add-ons (guests to install Add - ons I've already installed AND enabled). Why?

Modules, which are updated already installed and running (and have been for awhile), seem to think that they are not added. Looking at my modules in the Tools menu, they are listed as enabled. However, clicking to access their information page on the web (where you can read reviews, and where you initially chose to add them to Firefox), the "Add to firefox" button is available. (As opposed to some kind of "already installed" or button "Uninstall" or "Reinstall") I tried the button to see if pressing him THEN told me 'you have this', but it does not! He started to download the plug-in, I already have! What is going on?

Hello Amsuko, the "+ add to Firefox" button on addons.mozilla.org and similar sites is just a normal static element on the website. Web sites do not have the ability to query what extensions a user has already installed (it would probably be considered as a violation of privacy / security). When you install an add-on that is already present on your system, it will simply not be replaced...

  • Facebook and Firefox does not recognize Firefox as my browser. Cannot install Firefox Add-ons.

This all happened all of a sudden in itself. I have not installed new programs or software of any kind. I have Norton Security software, but it was installed on my PC for 6 months without any problem. I uninstalled Firefox3.6, 10. And reinstalled it, but this does not solve the problems.

The user agent string may have been changed, try resetting as shown here - sites say that Firefox is obsolete or incompatible, even if it's the latest version

  • Crash 24 Firefox Add - ons due to recent changes to the JSAPI

We are facing problems with our modules support for FireFox 24. Firefox crashes. In the previous approach we was using 'JS_GetGlobalObject' to get the overall purpose of docShell.

As per data link above - should I use use JS_GetGlobalForObject or JS_GetGlobalForScopeChain instead of JS_GetGlobalObject. I tried both of them and plus I tried GetNativeGlobal(), GetGlobalJSObject(). but none of them worked. Firefox crashes in all cases.
