Firefox always start in private browsing mode, no matter what I check the box options.
Whenever I have disable private browsing, the next time that it starts, it's still in private browsing mode. I would really like to turn off - it's a pain to type in the addresses of all the time. This is a new version downloaded Firefox - I uninstalled old and reinstalled a new.

You can set the pref browser.privatebrowsing.dont_prompt_on_enter false (default value) on the topic: config page.
To open the topic: config page, type Subject: config in the address bar (address) and press the 'Enter' key, as you type the url of a Web site to open a Web site.

Private browsing mode does not work
I've been without a pc for a while, now have a new with Windows 10. Just downloaded latest Firefox. I put it to always open in private browsing mode. But it does not work. When I close the browser, and then re - opening, my start page is not display the mask or indicate private browsing. I can get it in the usual way, just right-click on the icon that gives you options to open the new window or a private.
I tried to turn on/off the navigation mode private the several times, still no luck.Probably, you won't see the purple mask of private browsing mode when you are in permanent PB mode because all windows are automatically in PB mode.
You will see the mask when Firefox is started in normal mode and you open a new private window. You can use an extension for private browsing mode support tab.

See "basic troubleshooting: a new profile:

One can see the cookies of session in private browsing mode - see only normal cookies.
Using Firefox 19.0.2
Is it possible to allow Firefox to display ONLY the cookies of the current session in private browsing mode, rather than a list of my regular cookies?
First, basic cookies management seem to work fine for me, in both normal mode and private browsing: Cookies set during private browsing are removed as expected when you exit Firefox or switch to normal navigation.
HOWEVER...
I can't SEE the new cookies set during a private browsing session.
If I start Firefox normally, switch to private browsing mode and then go to Options > show Cookies, the window opens showing a long list of my 'normal' cookies
Previously, the cookies window seems to be EMPTY at the start of a private browsing session. After a while of browsing and then recheck the list I see only the cookies set in this private browsing session.
Now, during a private session, when I re - check the list of cookies for navigation I see my regular cookies, and NONE of the new session cookies appear in this list (the same cookies appear as before switching to the private mode).
I tried to start Firefox in Mode safe, without a change in behavior. I also tried to disable the modules, without change.
List of installed modules:
Adblock Plus 2.2.3
BetterPrivacy 1.6.8
Ghostery 2.9.3

How can I disable this function so I can open a private only when I need one?Hello Smokenguns,
Thanks for asking! It seems that you use some custom settings for history and an option enabled lock you in a permanent private browsing mode. Here's what to do:
Go to Menu > settings > privacy there, uncheck the box that says always "use Private Browsing Mode. See the screenshot if you can't find it.Have a great day!

"Save passwords" option NOT selected
NEVER agreed to save passwords on the list of options and no pop-up request pw firefox.
either private browsing mode "NEVER remember HISTORY" blocked cookies.
CCleaner chosen to clean all the passwords of firefox.
Yet they are still recorded.
We found the problem.
One of the Firefox Add some PLUGINs ON record our passwords.
We have removed the plugin. (Ironically, it was "MaskMe", a plug-in that supposedly help to privacy but rather secure our passwords saved for everything).
Sorry for the confusion. Care for others - do not use 'MaskMe', unless you want ALL your passwords and information connection recorded on a questionable site 'confidence' and autofilled whenever you don't want it to be.

How can I stop Firefox 4 to automatically switch on private browsing mode?
It appears randomly in private browsing mode. When I check the history when Firefox is opened, it will appear, but when I exit and restart the history is clear. I think it is probably triggered by the https sites, but I'm not sure, so it seems random. I have never used or turned on private browsing.

How to cancel a download in firefox's private browsing mode?
Hello. When I download something in private browsing mode, I understand that it does not appear in the download window.
How to cancel a download without closing the private window?
I don't want to close all the windows because I have several tabs open and it will be really bulky to close all tabs and trying to open all again just so that I can cancel a download.Details of my system is as follows.
Name Firefox
Version 24.7.0
User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:24.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/24.0Thank you.
You can perform the same operations for downloads in navigation mode as in your regular browser window. There are no pop-up downloads, but should open a separate tab for downloads in private browsing. Alternatively, while in a private window, you can enter topic: download to your address bar, and it should show you your downloads that are spend in your private browsing windows.
On another note, is there a reason why you are using Firefox version 24? The current version of Firefox is 32.0.2

5 Firefox private browsing mode changes the google search page. Is this normal?
Since upgrading to Firefox 5, I've noticed that when I switch to private browsing mode and go to Google, the menu at the top has a black background. I don't mind that it's a nice reminder that you're in private mode. I was wondering if this is normal?

Instead of having the sidebar on the left, I have the sidebar on the right and a big empty space where the text should be. The text is moved to the bottom of the empty space for me. I tried the cookies/cache forces the reload and total emptying, and I am sure that no change of format for manual Web site have been brought. I can see the site very well in other browsers and even in private browsing mode, so I have no idea why it is like that for me. Any help?
Could you have zoomed in/out on this page? Go view-> Zoom-> Reset (or press Ctrl + 0 [zero])
That solve it?

I don't see the purple mask on top of windows.1 right-click on the "Mozilla Firefox" shortcut, and then select Properties. Add ""-private "at the end of the area target;" \Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"- private.

Do you have any advice?
Best regards

For some reason, I can't respond to any comment of Google Plus on any Google service when Firefox is in normal browse mode. However, I can answer all the comments from Google over YouTube and Google more in private browsing mode. Google Plus comments work as well in Chrome. I can post a comment in all browsers in all modes, but I can't answer or mark as spam any comment of Google Plus in Firefox, when it is not in private browsing mode.
Boot safe mode works. Can I disable my modules one by one to see what is responsible?
