Firefox (and Safari) apparently random crash with websites.

Given that this occurs in several browsers, I suspect that there could be a problem more profound is happening with my MacBook Pro, but I can not discover what it is.

It doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to what websites crash the browser (s) and those who don't. For example, this morning, Web sites that were initially accidents are amazon.com, some discussion forums and links that are open after clicking on the topic: page crashes. I'll provide some of the Crash ID here of...

As I said, if I click on any one of them in my browser, it causes Firefox to crash. This problem happens on and off the months now, and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Thanks for the replies everyone. Unfortunately, AppleCare recommended a wipe/complete restoration, so I went ahead and did. He solved the problem, of course, but he created the inconvenience of having to restore all the files. I'm sure that there is an easier way, but I was frustrated and they have refused to pull of boredom longer.

  • getURL problem with Firefox and Safari

    I use getURL to GET and SEND on a named window. The window is the parent window of the pop-up window that contains the swf file.

    I checked if the window is named what I think it is, (I use javascript window.name = "myname" in the main window) and I use the name of the window in the getURL.

    Properly applies to the GET and messages to the window called when I use IE or Opera, but Firefox and Safari spawn new windows every time, instead.

    Is this a known problem, and is there a work around?

    Suggestions would be very appreciated!

    Thank you!

    So, I thought about it.

    It was a security issue. If the pop-up window and the main window are not in the same domain (which was the case here), Firefox and Safari won't let not the child window target parent. Instead, it creates a new window. I don't know why this would be considered to be best in terms of security, but it's what he does.

    The solution was to make the popup has the same domain as the parent.

  • Menu Spry works in Firefox and Safari, but not Internet Explorer

    I designed my site to school in CS4 and CS5.  The left spry menu bar appears correctly in Firefox and Safari, but in Internet Explorer the gray background and the buttons do not appear.  You can see the text and when you scroll down, it disappears even if when you click on it, the link appears.  The site is http://ml.chinookschools.org.  I created the website on a mac and I'm hosting on a mac mini server on my network at the school.  I am a beginner with Dreamweaver and I don't know if anyone can help me with this, but of course, I'd be grateful for any help. You do not use the latest Spry files

    The latest version of the Adobe Spry 1.6.1 Framework it is the same version that ships with Dreamweaver CS4. If you are using Dreamweaver CS3 (uses Spry 1.4), its wise to upgrade your files to the latest version. This can be easily done by using Updater Spry who can be found here.

    Then, if you take a look at the bottom of SpryMenuBarVertical.css you will see that the white background color has been specified for IE as in

    @media screen, projection

    {

    UL. MenuBarVertical li. MenuBarItemIE

    {

    display: inline;

    f\loat: left;

    Background: #FFF;

    }

    }

    Change the value to #CCC and it will have fixed that part of the problem.

    When you upgrade to the later version of Spry, be sure to keep a copy of the CSS file as a reference to the change of the new CSS file.

  • Positioning / scrolling problem Firefox and Safari

    I apparently inadvertently changed the CSS for my website www.truckeerotary.com. In IE7 pages are centered and when there is too long the page scrolls down. In Firefox and Safari, the page is pushed to the far left and locked in place. There are two style sheets used. Rotary.CSS and style.css

    I checked the code but I'm missing something. New to Dreamweaver and I'm still working through the correct syntax for CSS

    Thank you Nancy solve the problem. Frustrating how a simple element as' fixed' can cause so much agrevation! Without people like you, many new users would most likely give upward!

  • My Web page works fine in Dreamweaver/Firefox and Safari but not will not work correctly in Internet Explorer. Help please

    Hello

    I downloaded my page from Dreamweaver yesterday and it works fine in Firefox and Safari, but when I open it on Internet explore, background tables have moved and the image links above have a white boarder around.

    Web page link: http://www.GS-designproject.co.UK/home.html

    any help much appreciated.

    Thank you

    GAV

    The white edges around your images are created as they are integrated into the links. Add the following to your stylesheet:

    an img {}

    border: none;

    }

    The problem with the line of the table at the bottom reads:

    colspan = "760px" height = "40" valign "middle"="" >

    The colspan attribute takes the number of columns that you are stretching on, not a number of pixels. Judging by the rest of the table, to colspan = "7".

  • Need Suggestions - Web Site works in Firefox and Safari but not Internet Explorer

    Hello all;

    I need to develop a web site quickly in Dreamweaver and I made the basic design and works perfectly on Firefox and Safari, but for some reason, I have a strange behavior on Internet Explorer that I havn't been able to understand. I would like to see if someone can help me because it makes me crazy.

    The first photo shows a screenshot if Internet Explorer. Note is how IE spaces between my graphics in my menu on the left. IE is Horrible. I used CSS, not tables. The image below is a screenshot of Firefox and it shows how it should look.

    I loaded a prototype demonstration at www.dedula.net/balloonsat if you have time to check the actual code. Also, could someone tell me how to center the image in a browser? I see all the web sites are centered, but mine is positioned to the left. I'm guessing there's a CSS trick for that. Thank you 1 million.

    OK, I'll try an example, but do not know if the forum will mangle code, here goes.

    Say you had this code...

    Link 1

    Link 2

    If you remove the white space, you would end up with...

    Link 1 Link 2

    I know it's stupid, but good is so IE!

    And it seems that the forum does not mangle, so hopefully that will help.

  • Placement of text in Firefox and Safari is good, but not in ie7

    I use DW CS4 Windows Vista wit

    When I saw my site in Firefox and Safari text is exactly where I want to, but when I look in IE7, the text is not in the right position.

    I designed the Web site using css with a picture in the background of the container and then text placed on top of the image with margins/padding on the DIV tags

    Divs LeftContent and RightContent are placed correctly, but divs, Quote2, Quote3 & Quote4 quote1 do not place correctly in IE7, but they place correcly in Safari and Firefox.

    Is there a code needed for IE7?

    The site also looks like right in the live preview

    The Site is http://gigharborwashington.com/new/

    I do not know I see a difference, as you stack the

    Tags. I don't see any harm to have a packaging or a container, but can not see an advantage.

  • I use two browsers, Firefox and Safari. What I need to install twice, once launch each browser?

    I use two browsers, Firefox and Safari OS x 10.9.4.  Do I have to install Flash twice - once to launch each browser?  Or the card lies in a sort of cache, connecting on any browser he committed?

    Hello maxlexs,

    No, you don't have to install twice.  The same plug-in lies in a location accessible by Safari and Firefox and works in both browsers.

  • Firefox and Nvidea graphics drivers crash at the same time.

    This rare, occurrence in general on Facebook but I think it's just because it's a page I'm often, and that overall the site has no impact on this.

    Sometimes my two drivers graphics and Firefox will crash with the result no entry on my monitor for a few seconds and a dialogue of Mozilla crash and small ball of task bar telling me my drivers have crashed and valued.

    While this doesn't happen often, I am always curious to know why Firefox crashes my graphics drivers sometimes and yet I played many games intense and never had a single accident.

    Graphics card is a Nvidea GTX 460 and drivers in DXdiag version is 8.17.12.8562 and in the popup something along the lines of 285.2 bubble, I'm not really sure on this last because it disappears quickly.

    Also happens on my machine. Accidents cause usually just of my screens only blinks several times, but sometimes it forces me to hard reset my computer because it is not recover.

    With the help of 2 GTX460 SLI. Windows7 64 bit. Latest version of Firefox and accidents have taken place for months with several previous versions of firefox as well. In addition, the latest stable nividia drivers.

    And come to think of it, I think that the accidents began when I installed my second graphics card.

  • Alignment in Firefox and Safari problem

    OK, I have problems with my site. It works perfectly in IE but in Firefox or Safari, there a problem of alignment on two pages. I tried everything to separate in separate columns, use GIFS for spacing around and line up some left CSS qualities... still nothing. It seems that the two right-hand columns lined up too high. The left column is in the right place relative to other pages. If please check and tell me what you think. The 'other info' and 'Show map' links should be directly aligned with the element corresponding to his left.

  • Firefox and Safari are not completely load some sites, but Chrome is. Why?

    Tonight, I noticed that some Web sites have been does not completely load on firefox. I tried to use Safari to see if it was a firefox problem, but he had the same problem. However, when I loaded the sites on Google Chrome it worked fine.

    I tried to reset firefox and clear cache, but it did not help so I uninstalled and reinstalled but it still doesn't load these web pages correctly. This just shows that constantly trying to load and pieces of the site are missing or broken. I'm on a Mac using Mountain Lion. I've updated the Java plug in, but it does not seem to have done anything to improve the situation.

    Alternatively, you can try to disable IPv6.

    You can try to reset (power off / on) of the router.

    We had a Toshiba Tecra M11 Windows 7 who has a problem in which he randomly falls down, forcing the user to hard it reboot. When it crashes, the fans to the top spin, don't know if that means anything. We tried many things to fix.

    At first, we thought it might be overheating, which would explain the fan, but the laptop has been through a 24-hour stress test absolutely perfect with normal temperatures. The laptop is not necesarrily do something stressful when it fails we also tried reinstalling some of the key drivers and also intalled the BIOS more recent (2.60), but still the same problem.

    It breaks down up to 2 times per day, but can also go a few days without crashing. It's a very strange problem and we would highly appreciate a fix for it.

    Hello

    Maybe it s RAM related question RAM memory may be affected and would force the OS crashing
    I put t know if that would be helpful, but try to test the memory, run the memtest86 utility
    But note; These controls are not always successful means that even the memory is faulty, the error may not be detected by these software

    Have you tried to reinstall the OS?
    This should be done as well.

  • When I download a new Muse site, source code in Firefox and Safari it's "obsolete".

    I've checked warnings and signs in Muse holdings prior to download, and they are OK. Everything in my site folder is new with the exception of some JPGs from an older site. I'm afraid that the script "expired" spoil the SEO.

    Here is the part of the script:

    < script type = "text/javascript" >

    If (typeof Muse == "undefined") window. Muse = {}; window. Muse.assets = {"required": ["jquery - 1.8.3.min.js ', 'museutils.js', 'jquery.watch.js', 'jquery.musepolyfill.bgsize.js', 'index.css'],"outOfDate": []};

    < /script >

    Also, I updated the browsers and re-uploaded my site to replace any earlier.

    Note: I'm redesigning my professional website, www.mythicstudio.com , which was originally written at the top. But I have not yet touched the mythical site Studio. I use another 'extra' site, www.earthriveroflight.com for my mock up of the legendary Studio. I wonder if Firefox is information on the mythical site real Studio, which is very well updated.

    Thank you

    Ben

    No need to hunt for the file muse_manifest.xml. Considering things load and work fine in Firefox for me, the files are on the server and updates.

    If Firefox go to Preferences > advanced > network and click on the "clear now" button in the section Cache Web content.
