• Vista Business 64-Bit with AutoCAD 2009 does not seem to use all 8 GB of RAM available.

  A workstation newly built (S5000XVN Intel / Xeon / 8 GB RAM / 2 GB RAM video) with Windows Vista Business 64-bit is used with AutoCAD 2009 (64-bit).  The workstation hangs under stress, apparently because not enough RAM is available.  ("Stress" is "Turning entirely made of a certain complexity 3D drawings")

  The Task Manager / Performance tab indicates never to use RAM above about 3.25 GB, even if ten or more concurrent applications are loaded, including IE 8 (6 graphically heavy windows) and AutoCAD with 6 or more complex drawings open at the same time.

  There are two issues, I think:
  1. in the event that a busy workstation indicate use RAM above the 32-old bit of 3.2 GB limit?
  2 are there MS Windows Vista settings that are necessary to ensure the use of RAM available?

  I studied the installation of AutoCAD 2009.  It's actually the 64-bit version that is installed, and the Task Manager reports it as a 64-bit application when it runs.  (In other words, it is not marked as a 32 bit application.)

  I must admit that I no longer believe that the machine is running out of resources or do not use all the resources available to it.  We tested the machine by throwing 18 complex, fully rendering the 3D drawings within the Academy, in addition to two cases of IE 8, three instances of Explorer Windows and MS Windows Mail.  Use of the RAM did climb, reaching finally the 4.06 GB, clearly indicating that the 32-bit 3.2 GB limit has been exceeded.  It seems that just drawings don't take up that much RAM.  BTW, there was no increase in the paging activity that I could see.

  However, the application does not seem to be frozen or looping when the client attempted to turn one of the drawings.  The CPU on the two wires (Xeon processor) usage increased to 55% and remained there. the State of the process, as reported by the task manager went to "Not responding" and stayed there; and the display of the image froze on an empty workspace, with a three seconds flash drawing on every 20 seconds.

  So: It now seems that there is a problem with AutoCAD, not a Vista problem.  I would appreciate comments, however, if you think that this analysis is wrong, incomplete or based on wrong assumptions.

  I have one P6313W. I was looking to upgrade the processor. Upgrade processor HP section said that the processors "AMD Phenom II X 4 9xx/9xxe/8xx Quad-Core (Deneb)" were compatible. I bought an AMD Phenom II X 4 965 and installed only to receive an incompatible CPU at startup error. It turns out that the power of my CPU is 125w and max that will accept my MoBo is 95. Now the section of processor upgrade HP says nothing about the power and CPU I bought was listed as compatible. So my question is, is there a way to get around the limit of CPU power (and that would be even smart) and if not, what is my recourse to buy a $100 processor + who doesn't even though HP says it would be? I know, run-on sentence

  Here are the specifications of your desktop HP Pavilion p6313w and its card mother M2N78-(Violet6). According to the specification, this model supports processors "AMD Phenom II X 4 9xx/9xxe/8xx (Deneb) Quad-Core", as you have already said. Note that it is not the "b" list - Business or 'BE' - Black Edition CPU compatible. In addition to not be listed as compatible, the AMD Phenom II X 4 965 comes in 125 w and w 140 versions hanging next to TDP 95 watts of the motherboard.

  Sorry, but there is no way to use this processor on your motherboard. Further, there is no recourse as the CPU has not been listed as compatible. If you were able to overcome the problem of power in watts TDP and the question of the BIOS, you would probably ruin the motherboard using the CPU.

• HP Photosmart C6380 does not scan or print photo with Windows 8

  Just bought HP M6/1125DX/15j with Windows 8. My current HP printer is a HP Photosmart C6380 All In One.  The printer does not work, but the photo and analysis part icons no longer appear which were on my front desk. I tried to download the entire program which said would update my printer, but after 6 tries to one hour each, at the end he just said my download has been cancelled. Is there a chance that my printer will be supported by Windows 8 and how do I do that if I can't download.  Or am I stuck buying a new printer? Thank you

  The C6380 is supported in Windows 8 and has a Solution Full Download.  I would try using the Print Wizard to download and install the drivers.

  Check if the same works in different USB Ports, in Device Manager if there are any unknown devices or try to uninstal and reinstall USB Root hub, that should help you. Let know if you have the same problem. You can also check with all other USB devices if works.

  Before installing I would recommend to uninstall snack, there are still old software on the computer. Uninstalling the printer software.

  Then I would clean the computer starts. How to perform a boot in Windowsand to use the printer HP install wizard for Windows. If the printer HP install wizard for Windows does not then download software driver full of features with the first link I provided.

• HP 5150 does not print mode quick project with Windows 7

  Bought a new HP Pavilion dv7 computer with Windows 7.  I guess it comes with the print driver for my HP deskjet 5150 printer, because I can print but it will not print as fast.  Printing choices have always been best, Normal, fast, normal and quick project.  I still see the same choices, but it seems to print in Normal mode, even when I choose the project quickly.  I tried to uninstall the printer driver and reinstallation of HP, but that doesn't seem to work.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  Recently, I replaced an old computer running Windows XP with a newer computer of Windows7.

  I have TWO Toshiba external hard drives 2... one of them (Mdl HDDR250E03X) is used for external backup of data on my computer.  I started using it for my old computer that was running on Windows XP.  Due to a Trojan infection, I had to buy a new computer running Windows 7.  I thought that the hard drive is simply a plug-and-play device, BUT my new computer has not recognized that there is a device plugged until someone suggested that I make a change in the Device Management section (which only works at Midway).  My new computer now sees that the drive is there, BUT the data displayed under a name of file/folder (dec22a69bbd43e6966c9935e4720f7).  Data include WORD files, EXCEL files and .jpg files.  When I click on this long file/folder name, I get a long list of records as well as other unknown files that I don't recognize.  Inside each of the files is the SAME set of files (EULA, LocalizedData and SetupResources.dll.  When I try to save a WORD or EXCEL file on this disk, I tells me that the drive is empty, then the path and destination does not allow me to record anything.  I suspect that the problem lies in the Windows 7 software to recognize the hard drive but, I'm totally new to this Windows 7.  Everyone recognizes what is the problem?   I KNOW that the data is always there because I ran my virus on this single drive software and I could see many file names as they were read.

  My Centro ceased to sync with my Windows XP computer.  It just does not connect.  Did the soft reset, restart windows, etc.  No problem in Device Manager.

  2. when your device is connected, you will see palm os handheld
  3. click straight and say to uninstall the driver
  4 disconnect your device and soft reset it
  5. reconnect the appliance and leave it to reinstall the driver

  This will force reinstall the driver and also tell us if there are errors with the driver.

  First, make sure you don't have any programs or applications or in the course of performance when the problem occurs.

  It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

  I suggest that you perform a clean boot and check.

  To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

• Java 7 does not seem to play nice with Firefox 14

  Whenever I tried to launch a Web page of Java and Java with Firefox v14.0.1 v 7.5, the application would crash and I have to close firefox. I tried several resolutions, including the uninstall and re-sinstalling firefox, java and various combinations of uninstall and restart.

  It's only when I drove back Java Version 6, I am now able to open Java-based Web pages. I believe there is some sort of bug Firefox with Java version 7.5. Everyone see the same question, or is it just me?

  I am running Windows 7 and have no practical XP; I wonder if Java 7 was fully tested with XP?

  If you reinstall Java 7, there are a few other troubleshooting procedures to try, including disabling it all extensions and by disabling or removing the JInitiator plugin.
