Firefox does not always close when I go out

Is it just a difficulty for the fact that firefox does not close when I quit firefox. Removed add on.

Try using ' Firefox/file > exit ' (Mac: ' Firefox > leave ";) Linux: "file > exit ') to close Firefox if you're doing that by clicking on the X close in the title bar.

Firefox has been great to work on my computer for months and then suddenly he could not load pages. So, naturally, I restarted my computer, but when it restarted Firefox does not open. The icon lights for a bit as usual, then it fades and never actually opens. When I try to use the "run" command, I get this error:

I also tried the same thing for the file in the x 86 folder, but it gave the same error and I went and looked for the files in the given location and they were there.

    Help please?

I've never tried it myself, but the forum has a series of measures for a "clean reinstall" Firefox. Even if you do not delete the record of your personal settings (AKA profile) during this process, a backup of this folder is always a good idea in case something goes wrong.

Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you remove Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:

Note: You can print these steps or consult them in another browser.

    1. Download the latest version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org office and save the installer to your computer.
    2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (click on quit in the file menu or Firefox).
    3. Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
      • Windows:

        • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
        • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
      • Mac: Delete Firefox in the Applications folder.
      • Linux: If you have installed Firefox with the distribution-based package manager, you must use the same way to uninstall: see Install Firefox on Linux. If you have downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
    4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
      1. Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
      2. Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.

  • Firefox does not correctly close preventing a second time without a restart of opening

Firefox opens ok the first time I connect, but if I close Firefox it will not open again unless I restart the laptop. I can see a part of the flicking cursor "wait" and sometimes I get a message "firefox was closed" even when I do not have it open. Also sometimes a small window in the center of the screen that contains a white entry bar, and a narrow red top arrow to the right. It seems that firefox will not completely close and a background Member he prevents re-opening. I followed the suggestions help without success.

It is usually a Firefox extension software or security that prevents from correctly closing Firefox. See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firefox_hangs#Hang_at_exit and Firefox crashes or does not - how to fix .

Hi tjhoover5272, unfortunately it's currently a bug in the current version of firefox when you set your story to be erased to stop firefox (in the privacy of the firefox options section) - which is the subject of an investigation and train of attaches by the developers of mozilla with a high priority.

  • Firefox did not always stop when you press Alt + F4

When I press Alt and F4, it often happens that the window closes, but the process does not stop. After that I closed Firefox and tried to restart, it opens only every second or third time without error messages. When it opens correctly, it shows the following error message, "Firefox is already running but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system. »
When I look at the Task Manager, it shows that the firefox.exe process works, but doesn't show any activity (FYI, the memory usage is normal). The process is shown here as a background process (FYI, a feature to win 8 and background processes are visible only in the detail view of the Task Manager). When I stop the task, Firefox open regularly.
So, the problem is that when Firefox must be closed windows are closed, the process does not stop.
This problem happened very rarely with the previous version of Firefox, Firefox 29, it turns as often as described above.

Hello Haris o InStr, unfortunately it's currently a bug in the current version of firefox when you set your story to be erased at the stop of firefox - which is the subject of an investigation and by train to be fixed by the developers of mozilla with a high priority.

  • Firefox does not meet password when the choice of multiple passwords stored for a Web site

I don't understand, I seem to be the only one with this problem. I use Firefox on Android, and when I have several passwords stored for a website, the password does not automatically.
Things work very well when I only have a password for this site: load Web site and the password appears automatically with the user name.
When you have several passwords stored for a domain name, no password is filled, but you can choose between all the names of registered users. When I choose a user name, the password is not met.

    Expected behavior:
I chose a user name to log in with the password appears on its own.
    Actual behavior:
I chose a user name to log in with, but the saved password does not automatically, as if I chose a user name from a list of saved form data.

    Steps to reproduce:
    -Use Firefox for Android.
-Save 2 different user names on a Web site like for example google.com.
    -Load the website.
-Choose among 2 saved connections. -> Password is not displayed.

I'm doing something wrong? Or is this a bug? I can't find anything online, that is why I am discovering here...

    Thanks for reading!

    I have two theories:

    1. If you use a master password and sync again, passwords will not be synchronized.
    2. What preferences on mobile you in settings > privacy > "password main user ' and 'Remember password' and what preferences on Office: menu Tools > Options > Security >"remember passwords for sites ".

  • 'Open the connection' VM on external drive does not always open when connecting

    Hello community,

I have a MacBook Pro with 10.6.8.  For technical reasons, I can't upgrade to a newer version of Mac OS X.  I have a license for VMware Fusion 2.x and I'm using the latest version of VMware I am legally authorized to use, 2.0.8.  For technical reasons, I have to stay with what are free upgrades I have the right to use.

I have a guest to Solaris that resides on an external drive.  I want to make sure this guest operating system starts when I connect the MacBook Pro.

In the finder, I put VMware fusion as "open at Login".

In the library of VMware, I put the to Solaris comments for "Open when VMware Fusion begins.

Sometimes the comments of Solaris OS * fact * start automatically, sometimes it does not.  Can someone help me make sure it * still * starts?  I'm not yet able to determine why he still does not start.

    Thank you

    Ed

If Fusion launches before the external drive turns and rises in the finder, it will not see the virtual machine and does not start.  Launch of Fusion manually or power cycle external drive so there ' hot' before you start.

After clicking on a link in Thunderbird e-mail, Firefox opens the first time, but after the closure, I am unable to open it again, as it says that Firefox still works even if it isn't. The process runs as indicated by the Task Manager again and I at the end of task to reload Firefox.

Have reinstalled several times, but no glance. So far, it seems to happen after the opening of Firefox via Thunderbird.

Any help to solve this problem would be great because I don't want to resort to the use of IE

Yes, this sounds like Bug 1005487. Comment 36, it is said that the bug is not reproducible on the latest beta version. Other users have reported that the problem has been fixed in Firefox 30 beta8. You can go ahead and download the latest beta version to see if the problem stops there. I'd like to hear if it is resolved.

  • Firefox does not close completely.

So since I have updated to the new Firefox it does not completely close when I hit X to close. Then the next time I go to open it it says something like ' Firefox is open but does not close it before trying to open it again. Has not done this before and is getting pretty annoying having to open my task manager everytime I want to open Firefox.

Is this a new problem with the new update, or something else in conflict?

In case you use 'Clear history of Firefox closing' and then try to disable this feature.
