Firefox is crashes/closes on websites with flash

It started yesterday when I was asked to download and install the 3.6.7 update for Firefox. After restarting the browser, I get a message that it is not installed correctly, and then it closes unexpectedly. It is not the usual message that there is a problem and needs to close Firefox.

After experimenting, I noticed that this only seems to happen when you try to load Web sites that include Flash content. Gmail and Youtube to crash immediately. Other websites, such as Facebook and some forums will be charge initially, but will crash on some pages, where there is probably a flash video or another application.

I tried to start Firefox in Mode safe, but I still get these accidents. When I go to about: crashes, I get no reports of recent crashes.

I still can't update Firefox latest version, so I still have 3.6.6. Whenever I try, the installation fails. I have the latest version of Flash.

I think I tried everything suggested in the knowledge base, so if anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it.

User Agent

Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; Trident/4.0; SLCC2; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.5.30729 .NET CLR 3.0.30729; Media Center PC 6.0; OfficeLiveConnector.1.4; OfficeLivePatch.1.3)

I also had this problem.

I reeinstalled firefox (latest version) and stop later the toolbar of browser defender in the section Add on to.

This take care of most of the problems. (as in a slow computer, problems with flash video, very slow typing etc..)

  • Flash Player 11 constantly crashing on every website with Flashcontent...

    Hello

I have problems with the latest update of Adobe Flash Player to release 11. I'm on a Mac (10.6.8) the 64-bit kernel. For the moment, I installed Flash Player 11, every website with Flashcontent crashes. This also happens in Chrome, not just Safari or Firefox. I did everything what Adobe offers as possible solutions. Do with the uninstaller uninstall, then install it fresh. I got a glance of the folder Plugins from the Internet to make sure that all got deleted properly. But the new facility will not work.

What works is to uninstall Flash Player 11 and reinstall Flash Player 10.3. Then, everything works like a charm. Well well... except in Chrome, of course.

As a last piece of information: I never had all versions beta or alpha of the installed drive.

Can someone help me please? Someone else this problem?

    Concerning

    Alex

Thank you very much, Alex, to provide the fonts for me. I'm not on the Flash team, but am in the development of Type, so my interest for fonts and my experience that 'unknown' policies can be malformed. I use a MacBook Pro 17-inch Mac OS x 10.6.8. I installed the fonts in my ~/Library/Fonts folder, and Flash block now on a regular basis. A screenshot of what I feel chrome is attached. So, if you simply remove the KozGo*.ttf files (use ' % rm ~ / Library/Fonts/KozGo*.ttf ' to remove them), the problem may disappear.

  • Firefox crashes when loading websites with videos or watch videos

I've only known short Firefox slow or crashes when I visit websites with embedded videos. The problem mainly occurs when I try to watch the video, but even just to load the web page. Any video site linked to, that's the problem with Youtube, Vimeo and others. What could be wrong?

Hi again! It seems that the problem resolved itself... Probably by the new update of Firefox or any update of the oher plugin I made last week. I can watch Youtube videos without problems.

So, for now... I guess we can call this resolved. But I don't know for sure what caused the problem and what has been resolved.

Please post answers and be willing to help me.

  • With the latest Firefox, I get errors on Tumblr and Flash blocking drive almost everytime I watch a video on Tumblr.

This has been driving me crazy for days now. I've updated to the latest version of Firefox, but whenever I go to a Web page on Tumblr, (my dashboard, my personal blog, blog of someone else) I'm bombarded with error messages saying too "recursion." I get usually anywhere from 3 to 5 messages per page. I went back to 34 Firefox and can now access Tumblr very well, but then I am faced with a different problem. When you watch videos or the vines on Tumblr, they can spontaneously trolling, jigging or stop playing. If I try to resume them, then they might start to play but all the sound elements will be cut. This seems to cause some sort of problem with Flash Player, because after what happens on Tumblr, and then it will happen on ANY video game site that I visit. If I try to watch a video on Youtube, the video will be spasm for a few seconds and then go on static and say "an error has occurred, please try again later." I tested it on other video sites like Blip, and they also cause audio and video bugs. Even if I close Firefox and start it again, the problem will not be solved. The only way I found for fixing injuries is manually reinstall Flash Player (which forces me to reset Firefox anyway). This was a great nuisance, as I had to reinstall the Flash Player and reset Firefox about five times every day for the last week or two. This leads me to consider dumping Firefox for Chrome, and I don't want to do that.

    Hello

Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in Flash Player settings. (See this article for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).

To turn off hardware acceleration in Flash Player:

    1. Go to the Adobe Flash Player help page.
    2. Right-click on the Flash Player logo on this page.
    3. Click settings on the shortcut menu. The Adobe Flash Player settings screen opens.
    4. Click the icon in the lower left of the Adobe Flash Player settings window to open the display panel.

    5. Remove the enable hardware accelerationcheck box.
    6. Click close to close the Adobe Flash Player settings window.
    7. Restart Firefox.

This Flash Player help - display settings page contains more information about the Flash Player hardware acceleration, if you are interested.

Does this solve the problem? Let us know.

  • Firefox LAGS like hell with Flash

    OK, here's the deal.

After a long use Firefox starts trolling like crazy with Flash. And... It doesn't seem to be a problem with Flash. It is more likely that the browser itself which is the origin of the problem.

After that, I use Firefox for some time Flash begins badly trolling. BUT! This only happens if I have my current Firefox window. If I open the Task Manager on the top of the Firefox window, Flash stops late as if Harry Porter himself has cast a spell with his wand magic everything that works like a charm.

I made a small video featuring the bug: https://www.dropbox.com/s/l2c5pbn1xwy58dc/12-11-2012%2019-07-15.avi

-The bug persists even in SafeMode (all addons disabled).

-With hardware acceleration disabled in Flash bug remains.

-With the Chrome and other browsers, everything works fine.

-The bug will disappear after restart - and then will begin to appear after Firefox has been used for some time.

-Normally it reappears after that I close the lid of my laptop, forcing them to go into sleep mode. After he wakes up - the bug is there.

-There's not a bug in the past - he began to appear new versions of Firefox are put - do not know the exact version, but I guess it all started since version 14 or 15.

    Any thoughts?

    > disable the safe_mode in Flash 11.3 and later versions

Seems like it helped. Thank you!

  • WIN8.1/Chrome 64 bit: NPAPI Flash Player crashes on pages with Flash content

    Hello

Chrome 64 bit (beta +) crashes on 64 bit Win8.1, if I use the reader Flash NPAPI (beta or stable v14 v15) and open a Web site with Flash content.

    More details here:

    https://code.Google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?ID=402262

Great to hear.  Looks like it has been resolved on the side of Chrome.

My understanding is that NPAPI turn off by default in Chrome soon.  Yet once, PPAPI Flash Player has matured greatly at this stage.  If you always use questions that make the superior NPAPI Flash Player for your use case, we talk about them.  The goal is to have the plug-ins to parity and the window to have an NPAPI option closes quickly.

    Thank you!

  • Update of the Firefox Flash 6.0 plugin installs only 50% of update. And then said: I have to close firefox. I close it and it says again he is running and will not update? Why?

I'm trying to update my flash player plugin. Since mozilla says
    It's expired. I use firefox version 6.0 on a windows 7
64 bit OS. I'm the normal adobe download and installation process. Don't other applications are running. I install the Update flash. He Initializes then 50%, he says to close mozilla firefox. I close and he always tells me that mozilla must be closed. I go to the Task Manager and mozilla is not currently running. The flash update will not continue he mozilla needs to close when it is already closed. Why? and how to fix this?

Did you look for firefox.exe Task Manager process tab and plugin - container.exe? You must kill the firefox process and all processes of plugin-container you will find.
