Firefox is my default browser, but Bing is displayed when you open a new tab. How can I stop this?
I installed Firefox as my default browser with Google as my default search engine. I've eliminated Bing in the drop-down list in Firefox of spare engines. However, when I am browsing and open a new tab, the Bing search page appears. Google is still in the line of research at the top of the page.
I want Google to be the search engine displayed, not Bing.

Firefox does not open a new tab page, when I click on the small + firefox does not respanw, but if I use right mouse botton -> tab double as it opens a new tab how can I solve this?
Uninstall the toolbar Ask and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask and Firefox toolbar that prevents the opening of new tabs.
There are a few places to check for the Ask toolbar:
- Check the control panel Windows for the Ask Toolbar - http://about.ask.com/apn/toolbar/docs/default/faq/en/ff/index.html#na4
- Also check your list of extensions, you may be able to uninstall it from there - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+add-ons

I want the homepage to search Google to open when I open a new tab instead of the default generic search box. How can I change what opens when I open a new tab?
Why not use the built-in engines, Google is one of them, and it is the default search engine. You can have the results of your search automatically open in a new tab, and your links on the Google results page each open in a new tab.

The site that appears is Ask.com, and it has changed because when I downloaded iLivid installer I do not uncheck the boxes that asked me if I wanted to make this change.
I'll list the steps, but please note that related to always ask Firefox extensions can replace your preference, then you will want to check and disable or remove all this here first extension:
Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > addons > Extensions category
Here's how you can set/restore what appears in a new tab:
(1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.
(2) in the filter box, type or paste newtab and make a pause so that the list is filtered
(3) to get the page thumbnails, right-click in the browser.newtab.url preference and click Reset
(4) for the other choice, double-click on the browser.newtab.url preference and enter the desired value:
(i) tab empty
about:blank
(ii) integrated Firefox home page
about:home
(iii) any other page
full URL to the page
Press Ctrl + t to open a new tab and check that it worked. Fixed?

I have tried disabling all my Add-ons, but it does make a difference. I ran chrome alongside Firefox and you can open all the tabs very well, and I can look at Firefox turn just the icon of treatment and never load. I can hit the tab reload a bunch of times and sometimes part of the page is displayed. If I hit the tab refresh then its treatment sometimes it will bring to the top of the page.
One possible cause is a problem with the places.sqlite file that stores the bookmarks and history.

Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problems.
See "basic troubleshooting: a new profile:
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "tools > Modules > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If this new profile works then you can transfer files from the old profile to the new profile, but make sure not to copy corrupted files.

When I click on the 'plus' for a new tab, which automatically takes me to google.com so beautiful, but the cursor is in the address bar. It seems that the cursor is in the google search box, but it's not.
When I click on "Home" the default cursor, the search field, which I think is correct. Is there a way to have FF does not by default the address for the input text bar when you open a new tab?
I doubt it. Google controls their research and their browser and they integrate features. But you can use "Ctrl + K" to place your cursor in the search bar"in your Firefox toolbars. By pressing the key TAB a little is a waste of time since there are a lot of links before you get to the entrance area.
There could be an extension, if it bothers some, but I don't see a valid compromise to justify the use of an extension of something that seems trivial to me.

Firefox creates a file of 'search' on my desktop whenever I search (press enter). How can I stop this?

But nothing has stopped the production of "research"files tossed on my desk." I saved my favorites and opted for a new installation that no one seems to have had this problem.

When you open a new tab, why firefox suggests my recent history when I checked ever "broadcast history" on the settings?
If you have visited sites in no Private Browsing mode then there still may be the thumbnails of the pages in the cache.
Only pages that you visit in PB mode should not show on the subject: newtab page.Empty the cache must do the thumbnails disappear on refresh.

How can I make Firefox automatically show my homepage when you open a new tab (instead of a blank page now)?

My homepage is set to Google search, and when I open a new tab, I'd like to open this page, instead of a blank tab. As it is, I always click on the home button in the toolbar of FF, to replace the empty tab with a new Google search page.
You can do this by using an add-on such as:
- NewTabURL - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/newtaburl
- New tab Homepage - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/new-tab-homepage
Another way to open the home page in a new tab is in the Middle, click the home button in the navigation toolbar.

How do you disable MySearch Dial to being the value by default when you open a new tab?
I was able to change from being the default in the search box at the top of the browser, but every time I open a new tab the whole tab by default is always to the search page of MySearchDial. I think it was somehow installed on my pc via the malware and it seems to have gotten rid of it in IE and Chrome, but he persists in Firefox. Also I do not see it in the list of programs in the control panel so I can't uninstall it like that (unless it's called something else?).
Hello, you have various present malicious addons. Please, try the following steps:
- Reset firefox (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)
- then go to firefox > addons > extensions and where there are still extensions listed there, disable them.
- Finally, run a full scan of your system with security tools like the free version of malwarebytes and adwcleaner to ensure that adware is not present in other parts of your system as well.

Resets default zoom when you open a new tab
I use Firefox 23 on Ubuntu. It was recently updated. The new behavior is not desired. Here's what's happening. I open a page
http://www.foobar.com
I have set my level of zoom with ctrl ++ or view > > Zoom > > Zoom
I opened a link from this page in a new tabhttp://www.foobar.com/story/12345/something-new-happening-today
the tab opens with the zoom level by default, and I need to set it again manually. PITA BREAD.
Previous versions of Firefox has kept the same zoom level when I open links in new tabs as described above.
23 Firefox keeps my zoom level, when I open a link in a new WINDOW, but NOT in a new tab.
How can I get Firefox 23 to maintain the level of zoom that I set when I open a link in a new tab?
If this does not work in a new window, then stay with this window and close the window another, does not work.

Whenever I go to open a new window, the old one going up to the place. For a while, it worked very well, so I kept needing the old window and you can use the feature 'restore previous session' access to this. However, even after I has no more need (and without me, you select the option, it would still open the previous session.
Have you looked into Firefox/tools > Options > general > startup: 'When Firefox starts': 'Show my home page' "show a blank page.
- Press F10, or press the Alt key to bring up the 'Menu Bar' temporarily if the menu bar is hidden.
- Use "Firefox > Options" instead of "tools > Options" If the menu bar is hidden.

I want to put all new tabs open to the Google home page, is it possible?
If Google is already set as your only home page, you can try Middle-click or CTRL + left - click on the Home icon to open the home page in a new tab.
Or, you can install this add-on to open the page you choose the time by clicking the new tab or by clicking on the Firefox button > new tab > new tab: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/newtaburl/
- After installation and restarting Firefox, set the options for this add-on: Modules > Extensions, click Options next to this add-on
