Firefox is not store passwords

With the help of a PC with XP.

I have intalled Firefox 4.01 after removing first of Firefox 3.

I used an add-on to transfer passwords supported 3-4.

Most passwords have been copied to the course, but some were not.

My problem is that even if I have the option "Remember passwords for sites" ticked. This is not the case.

When I enter the user name and password for a new site, if it does not Firefox store the password and the password not recognized.

I have the module that best privacy 1.50 installed. I tried to disable it, but it made no difference.

If all else fails, is there a way to manually add the name of user and password?

See passwords in the password manager?

It is possible that there is a problem with key3db and signons.sqlite files that store the encrypted names and passwords in Firefox.

In the Firefox profile folder, rename the files key3db and signons.sqlite.

You can add .old files (key3.db.old and signons.sqlite.old) names or move them to another folder to make it possible to cancel the action.

You must define a new master password after renaming or removing the signons3.txt and all the currently saved passwords are lost.

If that worked, then you can delete the renamed files that are no longer needed.

Otherwise, you can rename the files to their previous names (signons.sqlite and key3db).

  • Firefox does not remember passwords on my new computer

    Hello
I just got a new computer with Windows 7. I was able to transfer most of my profile from my window XP by following the HELP articles about backup and transfer profiles. I did it with a removable Flash drive. My passwords have not been transferred, had neither my Add-ons. I can live with that, but now Firefox is not to remember my password. EX: EBay, AOL mail, etc. I have to sign all the time and type the password even if small Firefox window with the PASSWORD SAVE lights up and the password is supposed to be saved. I checked all your items in the record of the passwords and all settings are correct. I went in the window of passwords saved in my profile, it is empty.
Don't you think that something got corrupted in the transfer?
I have the cable for easy transfer to computer to another, but now I'm afraid that I'll have a double profile or just going for a little more corrupt if I do. I'll wait your reply before I decide to make the transfer with easy transfer cables.

Have you looked at the section of the Base names of users and passwords are not saved ? There are lots of good information in there.

If it's only a particular site, you experience problems with, you can also delete cookies from this site in order to make the site you not forget if you have created a remember me cookie by visiting to Tools > Options > privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies" that there could be a "don't remember" cookie for this site.

    Hope this helps!

Do you hear the names and passwords in the password manager or do you mean that you are connected is no longer on to (remember to) Web sites after the closing and restarting Firefox?

There is a difference between remembering the name and the password in the password manager and a check box "remember me" on a web page.

The latter usually involves the creation of a special "remember me" cookie that is stored on your computer and which is sent to the server.

If that "remember me" cookie is deleted or is corrupted or is not send to the server, then the server remember that you and you must connect once again.

  • Firefox does not meet password when the choice of multiple passwords stored for a Web site

I don't understand, I seem to be the only one with this problem. I use Firefox on Android, and when I have several passwords stored for a website, the password does not automatically.
Things work very well when I only have a password for this site: load Web site and the password appears automatically with the user name.
When you have several passwords stored for a domain name, no password is filled, but you can choose between all the names of registered users. When I choose a user name, the password is not met.

    Expected behavior:
I chose a user name to log in with the password appears on its own.
    Actual behavior:
I chose a user name to log in with, but the saved password does not automatically, as if I chose a user name from a list of saved form data.

    Steps to reproduce:
    -Use Firefox for Android.
-Save 2 different user names on a Web site like for example google.com.
    -Load the website.
-Choose among 2 saved connections. -> Password is not displayed.

I'm doing something wrong? Or is this a bug? I can't find anything online, that is why I am discovering here...

    Thanks for reading!

    I have two theories:

    1. If you use a master password and sync again, passwords will not be synchronized.
    2. What preferences on mobile you in settings > privacy > "password main user ' and 'Remember password' and what preferences on Office: menu Tools > Options > Security >"remember passwords for sites ".

  • 18 Firefox do not store persistent cookies.

This happens also in FF 18 - cookies that are supposed to be kept are not.

I tried the SQLite Database Browser tool, but found no questionable registration described above.

I tried to delete the preferences of site - no change. Tried to delete permission.sqlite. Still no change.

What it appears in is my online banking. It asks you to register to the computer and supposedly puts a 'secure cookie' in the browser. It does more - whenever I have to go through the application process for a new code by e-mail. It works fine under IE and used in Firefox. What's weird is that if I ask him to show cookies, it shows with expiration of January 2100. But it is not accessble to FF, while he was. Any other ideas?

It is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted.

Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other files to present as cookie cookies.sqlite - journal in the profile folder of Firefox in the case where the cookies.sqlite file has been corrupted.

  • Firefox does not remember passwords

My Firefox remembers a couple of passwords, but for other sites, it does not work. These sites are certainly not as exceptions (in tools, Options, etc.) and are not blocked by the site (passwords can be stored in Internet Explorer, Chrome etc.). In one case, we have 3 gmail accounts and Firefox will remember 2 of them, but not the third. With this 3rd gmail account, I did choose the option 'never remember this password' initially, but I now want to change that and the Web site is not listed as an exception, so I can't change it. How can I fix it? Can I reset completely the installation of Firefox password?

  • Firefox does not store the browing history

Several weeks ago, I deleted my cache to solve a problem. Since that time, Firefox displays the last ten websites I went on the drop-down history menu, but when I click on view history, the window is empty and says 'no element' downstairs.

I have studied this problem on other sites and those provided by other troubleshooting tips:
    1) ensured that the tools: Options: privacy is defined on do not forget history
    (2) ensure that private browsing is not enabled
    (3) typical subject: Config in my address and verified field as all the parameters: the browser history are by default (180 days; 40 000 objects)

I'm sure that it is a simple value somewhere, but I'm out of ideas. Can someone give me a hint?

If the menu history displays the elements of the story then that suggests that the story works correctly.

This may be a problem with the places.sqlite file that stores the bookmarks and history.

  • Firefox will not my password on a single site record.

I'm going to http://caloriecount.about.com/ (CC) for years. I logged in when I got my new laptop ~ two years ago and if I never had to reconnect, the site remembering my login information, and I had to click on "Log In".

For the last week or two, maybe longer (time & I don't always communicate), I suddenly started having problems with FF crashing constantly (several times a day) and when she returns to the top, I went out of the CC and cannot get back in without re - enter the url in the address bar to access the login screen. She also can't remember my user name or password, so I need to get those again, too. FF don't ask if I want to remember for me. The first few times this happened, it was disconcerting, but now, it's all just annoying. He can't go to other sites. CC is the only site affected by this. I have also contacted their support Department, but so far, they have no ideas.

I checked the screen page telling me that I was on the site 4 007 times, which seems likely, but it says that I have never registered a password for this site, which is not true. FF used to know my user name and password, but now it does not.

I found a page full of "bookmarklets", one of which promises to force FF to ask to save your user name and password. I used it correctly, he asked, I said, 'yes', and when I checked the info box, it said that I had saved a password for the site. I logged out of normal, went to the screen connection, and FF remember my user name and password. I thought that the problem has been resolved.

Then FF crashed again. When I went on the site, he left me the game and did not remember any user name or password. The information box claimed again that I had never registered a password for this site.

I'm really at a loss and would appreciate any advice.

Thank you for your help. I've updated to 29 FF, I don't like the look of, btw. I have not had an accident and yet today, it is perhaps more stable, and the a site that couldn't remember seems to remember me now.

I still have no idea what the problem was, unless it's in the user.js file, I deleted, but at least it's more for the moment. I don't know which of the things I tried to solve the problem or if the problem is only temporarily halted.

In any case, I appreciate the effort you all put in the resolution of the problem.

  • Firefox, prompting does not remember passwords

Firefox is not saving password. It's not even giving me a prompt to save.
Through the support forums, I have already...

    Reset Firefox

You have checked also for the problems caused by hardware acceleration?

It is possible that there is a problem with key3db and signons.sqlite files that store the encrypted names and passwords in Firefox.

In the Firefox profile folder, rename the files key3db and signons.sqlite.

You can add .old files (key3.db.old and signons.sqlite.old) names or move them to another folder to make it possible to cancel the action.

You must define a new master password after renaming or removing the signons3.txt and all the currently saved passwords are lost.

If that worked, then you can delete the renamed files that are no longer needed.

    See:

Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problems.

    See "create a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a profile in the new profile, but make sure not to copy corrupted files.

You can also try resetting Firefox:
