Firefox management session save all my tabs open, if I have to force myself to close?

Hi I sandboxed Firefox and I was wondering if I save the management of sessions away from the sandbox I'll be able to restore all my open tabs if I have to force myself close Firefox or if it crashes?

You can test this by forcing Firefox close via Task Manager.

Firefox creates a sessionstore.js file?

Firefox reopens the previous session with this start setting?

Keep at least the data of your Firefox profile until the next reboot?

  • Is there a way to save all my tabs at once and transfer them to another computer?

No, I'm not talking about having to first laboriously click each tab, bookmarking them, following the instructions to transfer your Favorites file and them by clicking on each bookmark to reopen your tabs. I wonder about a one click way to save all my tabs and the download on another computer, just like Firefox on opening/closing.
    Thank you

This can be done through Sync.

If so, when will it feature to share all the tabs?
    Thank you.

I don't know if we implement this. Sharing of all the tabs you have open have many security and privacy issues. Someone forget that they had a tab open, they didn't want to share or miss-clicks on the sharing of all the option.

We are looking for ways to better share tabs with devices that are located nearby. Especially if they are on the same WiFi network.

The toolbars are still on display in your browser?

If you still have the address bar, right click on any part that is not a text box or the icon, or if you do not like that of any space right click on the three horizontal lines on the right side of the address bar window. This should show some options, click on 'Menu Bar' and the tabs you are missing should appear.

As a side note, usually if these options are missing, your icon of firefox in the upper left corner of the window should look different (being a rectangular button itself as opposed to an icon), and the 'file', 'Edition', 'Bookmarks', etc., are found after clicking on this button.

    Hope that helps.

  • How can I save list of tabs open 'on order '?

I would like to save the list of tabs open so that I can go back to the same list of open tabs. Bookmarking saves but doesn't tell me explicitly what tabs were open at any time. I sometimes over 15 open, something happens and I have to start all over again - I'm going to miss some that I had opened. Thus a 'command' to save the currently open in a file URL would solve this problem. Thank you

  • Firefox will not save preferences & crashes when opening files

Two main issues here, but they can be linked together somehow.

First Firefox always wonder if I want to contribute to send performance data every time I open the browser. I followed all the advice in the article 'FF won't save my preferences' and vain. I have now uninstalled FF and deleted all traces (Inc. in hidden folders). Now re-installed, it does exactly the same thing and now won't save my homepage either.

Secondarily, firefox always crashes when I try and import and export bookmarks without fail. Also often crashes when you press a button download, for example gmail attachments files or post image Facebook to file. This has happened for some time and is still, even after wiping everything...

Try creating a new profile as a test to check whether your profile is the source of the problems.

    See "create a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a profile in the new profile, but make sure not to copy corrupted files.

  • Is it possible to stop the firefox to automatically restore all my tabs after accident?

Every time my computer crashes or I have to force quit firefox, the next time that I open it, it will immediately try to open all the tabs I had open previously, causing the major slowdown and memory hogging. I have to force stop again for it to appear the normal restore tabs dialog box. Is it possible to avoid this?

Set the browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes pref to 0 on the about: config to get page the on: sessionrestore page immediately with the first reboot after a failure has occurred or the Task Manager was used for the closing of Firefox.

Which allows to deselect the tabs that you do not want to reopen, but will reopen the other tabs.

Everything is marked to be synchronized.
Everything is synchronized correctly but the tabs.

    Hello!

Yes, this is the expected behavior. You can see the tabs on other computers in the history menu.

In Firefox 3, when I got to close the program to have several tabs open, Firefox asked me if I wanted to save and remember the tabs open, so that I can get them at the next restart of Firefox. Firefox 4 is no more. Is it because I have have not properly set up somehow, or is this normal? How can I recover this function?

A Firefox 4 is from Firefox showing the default warning message will stop, but it can be turned on again by changing some preferences.

    1. Type of topic: config in the address bar and press on enter
    2. Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
    3. Find browser.tabs.warnOnClosepreference, if its value is set to false, double-click on it to change its value to true
    4. Repeat this for 3 preferences browser.warnOnQuit, the browser.warnOnRestart and the browser.showQuitWarning
  • Why doesn't firefox does not save my app tabs more?

I have some updated app tabs. In the last few days whenever I close my browser and then reopen it, my app tabs are no longer there. Why isn't firefox remember my app tabs more? How can I fix? I need my app tabs! Thanks a lot for your help!

You can check the settings in "clear history of Firefox closing:

    • Do not delete the "browsing history".

It is also possible that there is a problem with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox profile folder.

Delete the sessionstore.js file possible sessionstore-# .js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox profile folder.

Delete sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and tab groups and opened and closed the tabs (back) to get lost, so you will need to create them again (take note or bookmarks).

  • Lost all my tabs open with the last update

I've updated Firefox with your last update of security and since then Firefox would freeze with a script error when I tried to go to one of my tabs. I followed the troubleshooting instructions and he created a "Old Data" folder in my office, but the new page of Firefox did not my tabs. How can I get back them? Can I cancel the update and return to the previous state of Firefox before the update?

(edited to replace labels with tabs - c)

Thank you all for trying to help. Here's what needs to be done to solve the problem when Firefox is installed on a mac. When you tried to reset your profile, note that there is a folder created in your desktop called 'Old Foxfire Data' or similar to this one. It contains all the data that has been cleaned up in the new profile. Delete the Firefox application and download a new application of Foxfire. Then launch Firefox. When open go in the tab 'Help', above. It's the last of them. Once you click on help, then click on "troubleshooting information. The first section is called "Basic application". In this section, click on the tab "show in Finder". It will display your profile folder. It starts with a letter and then a bunch of numbers and letters. But it will contain '.default' and some other figures. Now go to the first folder in your office called old data Foxfire and open it. Note that it will also have a similar profile folder. Open it and go to this folder copy all 80 more files. Now go to the new profile folder, open it and paste all files in this folder from backup profile to the profile folder. Click Yes to replace all the files that you paste into the new profile folder. That's all. Close, close and restart Firefox. You will have all your history, bookmarks and any label that you had open before the crash. Also, I say stop mac and restarted the computer, so that all possible conflicts would be eliminated. PS: The deletion of your profile folder and paste the old folder in its place it will not work! You need to replace all of the files in the new folder with the files from your profile in the old data folder.
