Firefox opens all my previous tabs on a new session, when it is not needed

  I am running Linux Mint 16 with 28.0 FF. FF sometimes opens all previous tabs I had open, rather than the tabs that I set to open as my home page.

• FireFox opens a lot of tabs on its own. I can't do something, but to close it using the windows Task Manager. all this occur after installing the add-on flashgot. (I've used this module before and it was working OK)

  This laptop has firefox on it since the first day. and I got flashgot on this as well. But today when I tried to download something that I have that option (save the file) flashgot wasn't there. I was a little surprised but downloaded and installed flashgot anyway.   Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problems.

  There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "tools > Modules > Extensions & Plugins»

  If this new profile works then you can transfer files from the old profile to the new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

• Open all links and bookmarks in a new tab

  Today, I've updated to 23.0 FF and Tab Mix Plus is more fully functional, and I had to turn it off. I'm trying to reproduce its functions to the subject: config.

  Without extension you can just Middle-click on a link with the wheel on the mouse to open the link in a new tab.

  It is possible that there is a problem with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox profile folder.

  You should look at this article on this specific issue and Preferences not savedarticle. It should give you all the information you need!

  If this does not work:

  1. Enter about: config in the address bar
  2. Click I'll be careful, I promise you if prompted
  3. In the filter field, type Startup
  4. Double click on startup.homepage_override_url
  5. Delete the text string, and then click OK
  6. Close Firefox and reopen the window to check that it worked.

  The user.js file will be present if you or a other software created this file and normally will not present.
  The user.js file is read whenever Firefox is started and initializes the preferences to the specified value in this file, so the preferences set via user.js can be changed temporarily for the current session.

  You can remove the user.js file if you do not create this file yourself.

  Windows hides certain default file extensions.
  Among them .html and .ini and .js and .txt, and you can see only a file name without file extension.
  You can check the file extension (type) in the file properties in Windows Explorer via the context menu.

• I just upgraded to 10 Firefox and all my pinned tabs app disappeared. Not sure how to get them back. This did not go with any previous update.

  Note that I was using Tab Utilities 1.1.2 which is now disabled because it is not compatible with Firefox 10 (but not really on utility tabbed app anyway).

  I just installed a preview of Tab Utilities version that works with firefox (Tab Utilities 1.2pre17) 10. After the reboot, all my original app tabs are back!

  I was on a local web page run by a local server on my intranet. Firefox was not open. I opened it (last time it worked successfully was a few hours ago). He did an update.
