Firefox said it blocked Adobe flash

YouTube videos usually work very well, I managed to launch a video, but two minutes after that all videos of a stopped working, and an error message appears: "this plugin is vulnerable and must be updated. Enable Adobe flash '.
I thought it might be just a problem with YouTube, but a message kept appearing at the top of various different Web sites using Adobe flash, by saying that 'Firefox has blocked Adobe Flash because it's unstable.', with a choice to authorize or to continue blocking the program. I watched plugins and he doesn't mention news for Adobe Flash, anyone know if there is a problem, and how to fix it?

Thank you.

Hello mikasapinata, adobe has released a critical fix for a vulnerability in its version of the flash plugin, which is apparently already exploited in the wild. That's why firefox will block the precarious versions which run by default on Web sites for your protection. https://helpx.Adobe.com/security/products/Flash-Player/apsb14-27.html https://addons.Mozilla.org/Firefox/blocked/p794

Please update Adobe Flash Player version 16.0.0.235 as soon as possible, that you can download from http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html (use the windows exe for plugin-based browsers).

  • Since firefox has blocked Adobe flash player how can I veiw videos online?

My computer and the operating system are archaic - xp - and a very old computer, but flash player ran in the past. Firefox blocks any attempt to update adobe flash player citing vulnerability. And yet, they don't give NO option to watch videos on your tube or any other site. What can I do? I click on the box always allow, but Flash Player is still blocked.

On Windows XP, you can consider using the Extended Support Release - Flash Player 13.0.0.305. New versions of Flash offer features that Windows XP cannot use - features only available in Vista and more recent operating system of Windows.

Scroll down about 3/4 of the way to the bottom of this page.

But before you install it, you must first run the uninstall program Adobe Flash to get a clean install of Flash.

  • My computer/browser blocks Adobe Flash player

Yahoo Mail has said that my browser blocks Flash Player.  You Tube will also not play videos.  I can co to change this?

    Hi JudyVanlandingham,

    ·         What web browser do you use?

    ·         You receive an error message or error code?

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

If you use Internet Explorer, then follow the suggestions below for a possible solution:

Method 1: I suggest to optimize Internet Explorer (IE) and check to see if that fixes the problem.

Internet Explorer is slow? 5 things to try

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/help/Internet-Explorer/slow-five-tips-to-boost-performance

Warning: Please note that the reset Internet Explorer (IE) resets all of the settings defined by the user, including those established by the installed extensions, toolbars and other add-ons for IE by default. This includes all the security, privacy and settings area. Also this will erase browsing history, delete all temporary Internet, cookies, form data files and especially all the passwords.

Method 2: I recommend to uninstall Adobe Flash Player, download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player and see if that fixes the problem.

  • Given that you have blocked Adobe Flash and I uninstalled as suggested by many commentators, what are my options to see the content I want to see?

Yet once, now that Adobe's Flash problems are everywhere the news what are my options to display the content on the sites that were previously used by Adobe Flash? I uninstalled Adobe Flash, but need an alternative. Thank you!!!

Mozilla had 'soft-blocked' version 18.0.0.203 and earlier, which still allowed you will activate Flash on websites of that trust.

If you are not accustomed to using the "Request to activate" feature with any of your plugins, here's what to expect:

When you visit a site that wants to use the Flash, you should see a notification in the address bar icon and one of the following: a link in a black rectangle in the page or an information bar slides between the toolbar and in the page area.

If you see a good reason to use Flash, and the site looks trustworthy, you can go ahead and click on the Lego-like icon in the address bar to allow Flash.

But some pages use Flash only for tracking or play ads, so if you do not see an immediate need for Flash, feel free to ignore the notification. It will just sit there in case you later want.

Until this ordeal of previously unknown security flaws shakes, you might want to try this and see how it fits. To set the Flash "Ask to activate", after you have reinstalled it, open the page modules using either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

In the left column, click on Plugins. Search 'Shockwave Flash' and always change 'enable' to 'ask to activate '.

  • Firefox said that my Adobe Acrobat was out of date, so I have updated to the latest version of the Adobe Web site. Firefox has always said it is obsolete.

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I've updated to the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, but Firefox has always said that it is obsolete. I had the Version of Adobe Reader installed 11.0.12.18. The Adobe Acrobat Reader DC uninstalled Adobe Reader software. I read that the DC version is still buggy. I think I'll uninstall Adobe Acrobat Reader DC and reinstall Adobe Reader. Furthermore, I haven't opened the DC application and updates, but there is not. When I had Adobe Reader installed I noticed in the Firefox options under applications menu there is an option to use Adobe Reader (by default). I think I'll try this option. Any advice would be appreciated.

Obsolete false warning for Adobe Acrobat Reader is a known problem, but unfortunately there is no way to repair at the moment (we are not the developers on this forum, just guys who want to help users).

See if the following instructions help you.

There are 2 versions of Adobe Flash:

    • an ActiveX version for IE only
    • a plug-in version for most of the other browsers including Firefox
    • On a Windows system, you must always update both individually.

You don't seem to have the Plugin for Firefox installed version. If you did, in the Add-ons > Plugins you would see "Shockwave Flash (version)".
