Firefox sends reports of incident without my permission

I noticed that Firefox was to send crash reports to Mozilla without my permission several times lately.
Under "data selection", I see crash unchecked, but the notification window appears now and then after a crash.
I have never checked "notify Mozilla this crash...» "When this box appears, but when I go on: crashes there are a number of reports. How can this happen and how to solve? Re-install Firefox, maybe?

Update:

It seems that these reports did not come at all, but just on hold. I went into the folder "pending" on my computer and deleted everything in it and after that the reports had left the "submitted" list when I visited on: fails. Whatever it is, it is little misleading to list reports as submitted when in fact they are not.

This security hole is a step away from a Web site that infects a computer with a virus. This seems to be something of a new technique of advertising as I only noticed it happening last week. • Latest Firefox block reported attack sites...

Hi all, in the latest version of Firefox, the option "firefox block reported attack sites" is enabled by default. My question is, mettle is listed as one of these Web sites. I use mettle to allow people to download photos from events that I cover without having to affect the speed of my site... granted some might use mettle for wrong reasons, but not all.
So, what can I do? Not all visitors to my website would have the knowledge to turn this setting off...

Block page has been enabled by default for years, but blocking download has been added more recently, perhaps around early March when there was a wave of messages on it.

The list of bad sites come from secure Google service. Downloads of Firefox updated lists of blocking at regular intervals. It is questionable to block a whole file, hosting site based on a bad user, so I hope that the next iteration of the data file removes the block; We are all at the mercy of the data on it.

To check where your date file has been updated, you can watch here (type or paste into the start menu search box and press enter or use the Windows Run dialog box):

    %LOCALAPPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

It's the cache and temporary files folder corresponding to your active profile folder. Double-click your most recently updated and secure profile folder. Normally, you will find that the files have been updated within the last day.

  • Hello am installed without my permission

Hello app or the "Start a Conversation" icon appeared in my browser Firefox/interface without my permission tab. I remember getting an email saying to start a Conversation, I downloaded from the app store (itunes) and then as quickly as the open email, he disappeared without deleting me. I never downloaded anything like that. When the message has disappeared, I thought nothing of it, maybe that I supported on delete by accident and thought it was just spam anyway. Today, I noticed this icon appeared in my browser without doing me anything. It's a face smiling when I spend said start a Conversation. Do I have a virus? I use a Macbook Pro with installed Yosemite. How to remove this icon? I removed it from the browser interface using customize, but I don't know how to remove it.

Hello is a new feature in Firefox 34, and it has been recently updated in Firefox 35. It allows to launch video calls with anyone in the world for free with no account. Hello Firefox - voice and video online conversations

If you don't want to use it, simply remove it from the toolbar using the Customize menu, it uses no additional resources if you do not use it.

Just a tip, this has nothing to with e-mail on the subject of "Start a Conversation", you received from the App store.

All I wanted was to download a Power Point Player. Instead, I had I don't know how many modules that I never asked and have now TWO toolbars of Yahoo at the top of my Firefox browser! How can I get rid of these? I tried to install a previous version of Firefox, which has not helped at all. Apparently, Firefox can remember everything you have ever done because toolbars are still there. I really get off on sites web loading things on my computer without my permission. Please help, everybody!

VERY DANGEROUS as there are KNOWN security flaws that make it very likely your machine will become infected.

If you are not running 3.6.24 you update as soon as POSSIBLE. http://www.Mozilla.com/en-us/Firefox/all-older.html

If you actually run 3.6.8 you skip these instructions.

Why firefox, send emails to my contacts from my e-mail invite them to learn more about Firefox Hello?

Thanks for the clarification on the h which is exactly the test/email that gets sent when you or someone on your pc is to create a conversation of Hello firefox and click the "link email" to invite another person to this conversation. This is something that happens and gets sent after manual steps by the user, so there should not be a reason to worry about this.

Alternatively, you can try it yourself as described in:

  • How does Firefox crash reporter know my email address?

When Firefox crashes, crash reporter is pre-populated with my email address. How does do that? I don't remember precisely what gives to any point in the past, other than to sign up for this help forum some time back. Even if I * fact * enter it in the area of the accident at some point in the past (it is very possible that happened and I just forgot), I still don't understand how it is stored. I delete cookies whenever I close the browser. (I use Ccleaner and have selected the cookies set to 'save', but Firefox and Mozilla are * not * among the "keep cookies".) Is it stored in my profile once manually entered in a crash report? If so, how can I remove it? This question is more about curiosity than ' concern. "Thank you.

Log on to an administrator user account and see if Parental control is activated for your own user account. If they are, disable them. If you use an administrator (not recommended) account, and therefore Parental controls are not involved, there must be a third party controlling the installed software.
