FIREFOX tells me that my module is incompatible when I KNOW that it works
The latest outrage with Firefox is that after upgrading to 20.0.1, despite the fact I was told also that StrataStripe 3.3 is incompatible. I rebooted 19.0.1 where he previously worked, but it was too "incompatible". I went back to version 18.0.1 with the same results. Now I guess I have to uninstall Firefox COMPLETELY and reinstall a version that will allow me to have the Add - ons I want, but seem to be losing with each update! This sucks Mozilla!
If you drag and drop a file on all open page in Firefox, Firefox will allow to assess whether she can handle the file. If it's a web page or a text file, it is displayed. If it is an as file, Firefox will start the installation process. So, you can drop the file on this thread if you wish.

Why Firefox tell me that I still have an old Adobe Flash Player
Adobe and Windows Web site tell me that I have Flash Player installed 18.0.0.232.
Why then the Plugin Firefox status checks status I have Flash Shockwave Flash Player 16.0.r0 16.0.0.235?
How can I get rid of 16.0.r0?
The official method is to use the Adobe uninstaller to remove all Flash on your system, and then reinstall. See: Flash Plugin - keep up-to-date and solve problems.
The hack that usually works is simply to delete the old file of the DLL.
To find the path to the file, you can use the topic: plugins page (type or paste on: bar plugins in address and press ENTER to load).
Use search (Ctrl + f) to search for the npswf , which is the beginning of the name of the file of the Flash DLL. This should go directly to the location of the DLL 16 Flash from where you can remove it. If Adobe uses the same location on Windows 10 as on Windows 7, who would be here:
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash
Please do not delete other files in this folder without researching what they are for.

This is the Plugins section and the option to update. In the two previous versions of Firefox, plugins check tells me that I have to upgrade to a specific version of the Adobe Reader software, despite the fact, I laready do. Does this mean that Firefox is vulnerable, or player? Is it a problem or just a glitch in software. Given the complexity of the player (which I need for work reasons) I hope that this does not indicate a serious and non-transitory problem.
Hello, I think it's just a bug in the plugin check website - your system details also show that you are using adobe reader 10.1.7 which is the latest version available for windows vista, then you can safely ignore the warning on the mozilla plugin check page (which is probably looking for Player version 11.0.3 adobe has not been available for windows vista However).

When I first run Firefox, the Google start page loads properly, but has a warning banner beneath the entry box telling me that I don't have the latest version of Firefox. When I try to update, I get the message that I have the latest version. When I check the drop-down list "On Firefox" I see that I have the latest version. How can I get rid of the incorrect warning message?
Steve CaldwellHello
This could be because the Google page is not maintained. Please also see the posted solution here.

I use Firefox 5.0 on a MacBook with Snow Leopard. I have always used the latest version of Firefox, but I'm not 100% sure if the problem is with the update to 5.0 or later.
I can't uninstall or update the modules in this way, which is quite annoying. This may be a problem with the files that store the registry extensions.
Remove files (extensions.ini, extensions.cache, extensions.sqlite, extensions.rdf) extensions.* and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.
New files will be created if necessary.See "extension corrupted files:
If you see people with disabilities, is not compatible extensions in "tools > Modules > Extensions ' and then click the Tools button, on the left side of the search bar (or click on the"Find updates"button in older versions of Firefox) to do a compatibility check or see if there is an update.

I am currently on beta version update channel. Before installing update, I need to know if it will work ok with Dashlane.
It is Dashlane that is made to work with Firefox versions not the other way around. The message said the version of the Dashlane extension you have is not compatible with versions beta of Firefox 38.0 you are testing (38.0b9 is the current version).
Normally, these things are designed to work with the current version at least (say Fx 37) and not built as Beta, Aurora (aka Developer Edition) development channels and nightly.

That's about all. If you would like more information I'll need some advice from you, such as specific questions. Thank you.
Follow these steps.
- Go to Download Firefox 4.0.1 and download the installer to your desktop.
- Then go to add/remove programs, scroll down to "Mozilla Firefox" and delete it, choosing to keep your bookmarks, customizations, etc. (don't tick the box).
- Reboot and delete the folder called "Mozilla Firefox" at this location: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
- Finally, run the installation file downloaded previously on the desktop.
Your bookmarks, etc., customizations are stored in a different location and will become available to you even once you complete the installation.
After completing the installation, go to the Plugins check page and update if necessary.

Firefox tells me that it is an invalid address for Firefox.
I can open Favorites precedents, but not Firefox. I also was not able to install Firefox updates.
If there are problems with the current installation of Firefox, then it would be better to move the installation of the new version of the current Firefox application to the trash to do a cleaning.

Why Firefox tell me this isn't the default browser?
When I run Firefox, or when I go to the options system and check, 8 Firefox tells me that this is not the default browser. However, if I close and go to some programs such as Excel and type a URL, then click, Firefox open. No idea what is the problem?
This means that not all the settings of Firefox as default browser are defined and that some are missing

My OS is Windows 10. I have Firefox 38.2.0 and it tells me that it is the most recent version. However, I got emails telling me to upgrade to the latest version which seems to be in the 40s. When I go to the https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/ website, it tells me
"Looks like you are using an older version of Firefox."So I click on upgrade and it loads a file "stub". I close in Firefox, go to the folder where the file is located and run it. At the end of the process, he told me that Firefox still works and I have to close it for the new version to load. Then I go to the Task Manager, and he told me that no request to don't run! I went through this process three times without any positive result.
What to do?
I'll answer your question, but I suggest not changing your version of Firefox until find us out if having to do any with your plant, discussed here: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1078897
At some point, there are two different versions of Firefox:
- Public release of the standard/large: currently Firefox 40.0.2
- Extended support release (ESR): currently Firefox 38.2.0
The version of ESR is intended for companies who need maximum stability for their users. New features usually are not added for at least six months, although security patches are issued approximately every six weeks.
You want to switch to the standard version? If so, this is how I suggest to do:
Clean reinstall it
We use this name, but it isn't about deleting your settings, this is to ensure that the program, files are clean (not incompatible, corrupt or exotic code files). As described below, this process does not disrupt your existing settings. Don't uninstall NOT Firefox, that does not need.
(A) download a fresh Installer for Firefox 40.0.2 of https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ in an ideal location. (Scroll down your preferred language).
(B) the release of Firefox (if any).
(C) to rename the program folder, either:
(Windows 64-bit folder names)
C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
TO
C:\Program Files (x86)\FxESR
(Windows 32-bit folder names)
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
TO
C:\Program Files\FxESR
(D) run the installer downloaded to (A). It should automatically connect to your existing settings.
Note: Some plugins can only exist in the old folder. If it is missing something essential, present in these files:
- \FxESR\Plugins
- \FxESR\browser\plugins
